We are planning out first WDW tip for Aigust 2008. My son will be 8 and my daughter 6. We are looking at the Wilderness Lodge or Animal Kingdom. Any info on either? Pro's or Cons.

Personally with the kids I would go for Wilderness Lodge, closer to more of the parks. AK was all right, but it seemed like the bus ride there was the longest of our trip, it was probably our least favorite park. We'll give it a miss on our next trip, which is a short one. Will rethink it for TG 2007. I know it's themed nice but it seems out of the way and if it's your first trip you want to be close to the "action".

loved WL we took our DS6 and DD4 and had a great time, very quick boat ride to MK 8min. We only rode the bus to DTD, the rest of the time we rode the boat to MK or the the contemporary where we got on the monorail took it to TTC changed Monorail for EPCOT, when we wanted to go to MGM took another boat. Coming back to WL after MGM waited to see wich bus was there first WL or contemprary. It was Contemporary, took that bus there then a boat to WL.
I would stay at WL so easy to get around, and it is very calm not a lot noise.

hi just a thought-all star music has family suites that would run you a lot less and are kid themed. they sleep 6 and you would have your own bedroom w/tv and bathroom and the kida would have their own tv and bathroom. it also comes w/a small frig, micro and sink. we just came back and had a great time there. just a thought...of course wilderness and lodge are beautiful but too pricey for us!!:scared1:
