We are headed to Disney this fall and will be celebrating mom's 60th b-day, my husband's b-day, and my son's 1st trip. Is there anything special I can arrange to make the trip that much more special?

If you are staying at a Disney resort, make sure to note the special events on your reservation. You may receive some magic moments in your room. You can also order special cakes to be brought out when dining.

If you aren't staying on-site, stop by City Hall to get birthday buttons and a First Visit button for your son. CMs will extend their happy wishes and your family members will feel like celebrities! Some restaurants may provide special desserts to celebrate the birthdays!

How do you go about ordering the special cakes? That would be so great!

This is what I found. They also have the Cinderella Slipper: chocolate slipper filled with mousse - it really is presented nicely and they can write on the plate with gel icing!
To order any custom bakery cake, call the Walt Disney World Resort at (407) 827- 2253. Requires advanced reservations.

Disneyflorist.com is great! I have used them for my daughter a couple of times. You can choose from lots of different items and i believe you can customize some things as well. They don't disappoint, some items are really expensive but they have a good variety from inexpensive to very expensive depending on your needs and desires. Hope this helps, have a great trip!

There are several threads about ordering special cakes that have a ton of picures and great information for ordering cakes for special occasions. There is a cake hotline for standard cakes and some places will let you order "fancy" cakes with all different themes. The threads have "cake chatter" in the title and all the contact numbers and basic info are right in the front of the thread. Hope you have a great trip!

Hi - I found out recently about the intimate dining experience. It's at the GF and you get your own butler! If you google it you will get all the details ... 60 is a big b'day - so it would make it one to remember :)

My Mom didn't make it to her 60th birthday, but my sister and I celebrated my 40th at the Grand Floridian Gardenview tea lounge - your Mom might enjoy a tea for two with you for her 60th - I know mine would have loved it! Nice, relaxing, enjoyable and memorable. Your husband and son could go enjoy the Pirates League at MK while you had tea, or just doing something together in the park while you enjoyed some time with your Mom!
