Planning Session/Cake/Question

Hey DISers! I need your help! Ive been reading through all of the information that I recieved prior to the PS- the one thing that I dont understand is the Cake sheet pricing. First, it lists all of the cake names, no pictures...how do I know what the cake is supposed to look like? Now, in order for me to get an idea of pricing, I think I understand that you take the number of pp (for example $10) and times that by the guest count???? And then if there is fancy work, you add those fees on?

I guess the main thing is that I dont know what all of these cakes look like so I cant determine what I do and dont like.

The cake pictures that go with that list are all on a CD that Disney can send you. However, almost all of the cakes on the list are also pictured in the first two or three pages of a thread created by a generous DISer who posted all the images from the cake CD here:

The price listed is per person, but you can't get an exact figure by multiplying your guest count by it because each tier serves a certain number of people, and they can't, like, do partial tiers.

For example, we had 34 guests, but the smallest cake they will do is a 50-person cake of two tiers.

And if you want a custom design not on the list, only the pastry chef (via your planner) can estimate exactly how much your cake will cost.

The cake price sheet totally confused me too, lol. I just figured we'd get a 50 person cake because that seems to be the smallest they can do (small meaning 2 tiers, lol). We're only having 35 people but our cake serves 50 and costs $426
