Planning our Wilderness Lodge Adventure! Nov 8-15 ~ We are back!

04-28-2008 - A Conversation Between DH and I Today at Work

(1:23:50 PM) Brook Woz: there is a deal going on right now for Univeral tickets for all the parks/shows/events, 7 day pass for $80.98 that never expires, so you can purchase it now and use it whenever.
(1:24:34 PM) Brook Woz: noramlly for a 1 day, 1 park ticket, it's $69.99
(1:25:25 PM) Joe Woz: cows
(1:26:07 PM) Brook Woz: ya
(1:26:11 PM) Brook Woz: very good deal
(1:26:30 PM) Brook Woz: we could expand our trip by a few days in a value resort....:-)
(1:26:41 PM) Joe Woz: like 7 days?
(1:26:46 PM) Brook Woz: sure!
(1:26:58 PM) Joe Woz: I would love that
(1:27:06 PM) Brook Woz: meeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee too!
(1:27:12 PM) Joe Woz: there's probably off-site hotels that are cool too
(1:27:44 PM) Brook Woz: hmmmm...and could be very cheap if we attend a stupid "buy a timeshare" conference
(1:27:48 PM) Brook Woz: cheap=free
(1:28:24 PM) Joe Woz: you would have to be in charge of that.. I'd get suckered into buying a $40,000 / year package for a 6 hour stay
(1:28:28 PM) Brook Woz: there are 2 parks - islands of adventure (basically a 6 flags) and Universal Studios-the movie one
(1:28:33 PM) Brook Woz: LOL
(1:28:45 PM) Brook Woz: i can handle the pressure
(1:28:56 PM) Brook Woz: i'll dig into it...

and I was doing the Banana-Man dance in my cubicle and still am!

Anyone ever been to Universal or Islands of Adventure? Or stay off-site in an "attend a time-share conference and we'll give you a free room" place? Do you need a car from these places to the Universal parks? Does Islands of Adventure have Baby Swap?

WOW! You just added a week??!?!?! That didn't even seem hard!! Very, very impressed!

I've never done the Universal thing. I bet you guys will have tons of fun tough!

As for the timeshare plan, use that stubbornness. And then put your DH in charge of the DVC one. Hee...Hee... Hee...

Color me jealous! Well not about listening to a timeshare pitch, but another week and universal sound great.

I have several ressies for Boma breakfast and dinner. You can never go wrong there. Plus you'll get a chance to see the animals. Maybe you can do this when you go to Animal Kingdom.

It wasn't hard at all! I haven't had any resistance on ANYTHING from DH on this trip! What should I try for next? :rotfl2:

I'm super excited! I'm not sure if we'll do a whole week, but most likely at least a few days. I'm not looking forward to the timeshare pitch, but if it allows me to stay longer-count me in!

Go to this thread, and tell macraven I sent ya. They are all about Universal Studios. A very nice but crazy bunch. You'll love 'em.

I posted for mac! The group already sent me a very warm welcome. Looks like a nice place to post my bazillion Universal questions.

Yes! I'm looking forward to that breakfast and seeing the animals and the lodge...:cloud9: Good idea for when we go to AK...

Another week?! :woohoo: :cheer2: :dance3:

2 weeks in Florida...not bad....

YA! Woo-hoo! :cool1: Not sure if it'll be a whole week or what yet though...still researching...I've read rooms can be as cheap as 30 BUCKS a night with the timeshare pitch! If those are close enough to the parks for a shuttle, then this should be a green light! I refuse, refuse, refuse to drive on vacation. I HATE driving and DH can't due to being legally blind. I'm all about the public transit!! The opposite of most people, weird...I know.

I'll post details as I find them, right now, nothing makes sense, still figuring out hotels and stuff....and I'm not feeling well-Minnesota's spring-winter-spring-winter season is causing havoc on me - sore throat, sinus headaches...

Hasn't this year been the worst for hot-cold-hot...it was in the mid-90's over the weekend..Forecast tomorrow...68.

I'm with you on the sinuses....

I agree with you...I LOVE the Disney busses!! :thumbsup2

Yes! It's been awful. We got SNOW last weekend (I have some pics to share as soon as I download them...:rolleyes1 ) and someone told me there is a possiblity for snow AGAIN this weekend. Seriously ridiclious.

Am I right in saying you were once a Disney bus-aphobic though? Or am I confusing you with someone else...?

But yes, they are so nice and simple, quick and FREE. Well, probalby not 'free', but it feels like it when it's built into your room cost. And if you rent a car or not, you have to pay for it.

I'd say DVC or I'd say go for this!

:rotfl2: :lmao: :rotfl2: Oh my goodness. That reminds me of this pic:

AMEN!!!

As an act of defiance, yesterday I put the winter boots away.

(P.S. Great picture of your DH! Very stylin'!)

Congrats on the extra week!

I've been to IoA and really loved it! We paid the extra $40 for the fastpass things that allow you into any ride any time once each. Loved that! They never marked it off on Jurassic, so we rode it 5 times as a walk-on.

Only thing was that we were there when Ellen was, and after waiting an hour in the Hulk line (before we purchased the fastpass things), they shut it down, and said it'd be down for an hour while they set up cameras and while Ellen rode.

Whoo Hooo!!!!!!!!!! We are trying, for the first time, US and IOA. We are going the end of August before Disney. We opted for on-site because of the unlimited front of the line access. We can go to the parks early, ride all of the rides, explore and go back to the resort for pool time. Congratulations on your extended vacation. I'll report the ins and outs when we return. :thumbsup2

I don't know what it's like down your way, but guess what I saw up here mixed in the rain this morning.

snow. :scared1:

I tried to pretend it was just some dandruff blowing through the breeze, but I came to the realization that it was going to take a lot more than Head 'n Shoulders to make that white stuff blowing in the breeze to disappear.

Sigh. The boots will stay put away, but the hats and mittens better not go too far.

Love that pic. Talk about Disney Bliss. He is the poster child. Too, precious.:)

Nope! I have always been a fan of Disney transportation! :thumbsup2
