Planning our Wilderness Lodge Adventure! Nov 8-15 ~ We are back!

04-25-2008 - ADR Changes!

I swore to myself up and down and did ooodles of research so I would not have to change my ADRs a million times and guess what?

IT'S INEVITABLE! :rotfl:

But! Just one teensy change.

A short time ago I was browsing a thread of all Food pictures. I actually browse there quite often...almost daily. :rolleyes1 Anyway, someone posted pictures from Boma's breakfast buffet.

And they have amazing coffee.

AND, it's at the Animal Kingdom Lodge!

The more I dreamt of it, the more I knew I really, really, really wanted to go to breakfast at Boma.

Do I give up Kona?

No, I just can't. Tonga toast! And my DH has his heart also set on the sugar coated banana goodness!

So, tonight I mention to him "Honey, remember Boma?"

"The buffet, right?"
"Yep. They also have a breakfast buffet."
"And why didn't we ever go?!"
"Well-I-I didn't really realize there was a breakfast buffet, and I was focused on the wedding plans...and we were all about not spending much out of pocket because the trip was on credit..."
"Oh, true...right. So they have breakfast?"
"And amazing coffee."
"Wow, gosh, if we had known that before we would have been there everyday!"

So we chat a bit more about it and I tell him about seeing the pictures of the bagels, eggs, bacon, muffins, pastries...

"So, is it okay if we go there too?"
"Uh...YA!"

I was a bit hestitant to ask at first because I know it will be more OOP, and I know my DH isn't a huge breakfast eater, but I guess vacation+food+good coffee = a yes! :woohoo:

He also commented about how much he enjoyed that buffet for dinner. I had no idea he enjoyed it so much! He said he liked trying a few more "exotic" things - things that he normally would have not tried and finding that he really liked a lot of it. :yay:

So I gotta figure out what day we will fit it in, it's a good problem!

I for sure wanted to get back to the Lodge, just to see it, and now we have the perfect excuse, FOOD!

Don't forget the great juice!:thumbsup2 It was Frunch; now it's a different mixture, but just a good.

If you change the title of your PTR...I'd go with #3.

Gud Coffee and WDW...I thought these could never belong in the same sentence...Thanks for doing all the legwork....we all know where to find good coffee....Doesn't Kona also have good coffee?

Thanks for the input-I like that one too-I just gotta word it a bit differently or something...mabye I'll ask DH for advice on wordsmithing it.

No prob on the coffee info-I had to search it out. I lived with the Nescafe last time, but knew there HAD to be something better there. Yep, Kona does have good coffee-I thought that was on the list...gotta go back and look. That is one of the main reasons, along with Tonga Toast, that we are doing Kona for breakfast.

And speaking of Kona, off topic from your reply Jordan...the macadamia nut pancakes also sound amazing and I have been slightly torn on what I will get, afterall I could steal some bites of DH's Tonga Toast...then I was reading a TR on here and someone made them at home! Gotta find the recipe...

Oh, and Jordan-did you see the pic of Angela, her tongue and your peeps on her PTR? It's hilarious! I think one of the peeps is even doing the 'other' Asian power symbol of a peace sign.

I'll have to go back and look at your PTR. Are you the one that posted the in detail places to find good coffee?

Those pancakes........Tonga Toast......I'm sold....

I just saw that pic...I laughed so hard...thank God I was alone.

Breakfast at Boma - totally, totally worth it! You will LOVE it! It was our best meal of the trip! :thumbsup2

Yep-that was me, --> http://www.disboards.com/showpost.php?p=23249789&postcount=12 It mentions Kona, Ohana and the CS at Poly-all where you can get the beautiful cup. For some reason, it's even in bold. :confused3

I cracked up at her picture too! And on her thread I saw she explained that her husband really got into scouting for the peeps. I can't wait to read all about it! :rotfl2:

Nice set up!

"So, is it okay if we go there too?"
Good delivery!

"Uh...YA!"
And desired result! Excellent work! Enjoy your meal!

Your descriptions makes me regret not putting Boma on our list for this trip. I'm thinking it'll make the top of the top for next time!

The last time we had breakfast at Kona, I ordered the Pineapple Macadamia Nut Pancakes and my DD ordered the Tonga Toast.:woohoo: We split the meals. Both were excellent!:thumbsup2

04-28-2008 - A Conversation Between DH and I Today at Work

(1:23:50 PM) Brook Woz: there is a deal going on right now for Univeral tickets for all the parks/shows/events, 7 day pass for $80.98 that never expires, so you can purchase it now and use it whenever.
(1:24:34 PM) Brook Woz: noramlly for a 1 day, 1 park ticket, it's $69.99
(1:25:25 PM) Joe Woz: cows
(1:26:07 PM) Brook Woz: ya
(1:26:11 PM) Brook Woz: very good deal
(1:26:30 PM) Brook Woz: we could expand our trip by a few days in a value resort....:-)
(1:26:41 PM) Joe Woz: like 7 days?
(1:26:46 PM) Brook Woz: sure!
(1:26:58 PM) Joe Woz: I would love that
(1:27:06 PM) Brook Woz: meeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee too!
(1:27:12 PM) Joe Woz: there's probably off-site hotels that are cool too
(1:27:44 PM) Brook Woz: hmmmm...and could be very cheap if we attend a stupid "buy a timeshare" conference
(1:27:48 PM) Brook Woz: cheap=free
(1:28:24 PM) Joe Woz: you would have to be in charge of that.. I'd get suckered into buying a $40,000 / year package for a 6 hour stay
(1:28:28 PM) Brook Woz: there are 2 parks - islands of adventure (basically a 6 flags) and Universal Studios-the movie one
(1:28:33 PM) Brook Woz: LOL
(1:28:45 PM) Brook Woz: i can handle the pressure
(1:28:56 PM) Brook Woz: i'll dig into it...

and I was doing the Banana-Man dance in my cubicle and still am!

Anyone ever been to Universal or Islands of Adventure? Or stay off-site in an "attend a time-share conference and we'll give you a free room" place? Do you need a car from these places to the Universal parks? Does Islands of Adventure have Baby Swap?

I'm pretty sure US/IOA has baby swap.

Just make sure when you sign up for a Timeshare presentation, you find a pretty good company. I hear depending on the one you go to, they can be very pushy. Others not so much.......

Good to know-I would obviously prefer a not so pushy one...but, I am of the type that I will NOT give in. Some people call it stubbron...;) Hence the reason my DH said this would be my court.

But, again, I would prefer a less pressure one-gotta research all that. I'm guessing this info is SOMEWHERE on the DIS...everything is!
