Planning Our Happily Ever After - A Disneymoon PTR! (NEW 7/13 - TR Link!)

Those invites are perfect! They look great :)
and getting the big things out of the way first is what we did too and helped... the little things get easier to do once you get those big ones outta the way :)

I completely agree with a year and a half engagement cutting down on planning stress! It was just the right amount of time to get everything done, and still went by fast.

Your save the dates are so pretty! Very, very elegant and fairytale-ish. Love em!

I love the Save the Dates! So classy and simple! That's great that you've been able to actually enjoy your planning experience-- I've heard way too many stories to the contrary!

I love the Save the Date cards! :thumbsup2 Looks like you're doing a great job with the plans, not too much left to do now! The wedding will be here before you know it! :woohoo:

String Quartet and Lighting Designer??? Day of Coordinator??? Very fancy-dancy!!! Sounds like it's going to be a gorgeous wedding :cloud9:

Wow you are moving right along! Great job!

I love the simple yet elegant save the dates!

We had a string quartet at our wedding and I loved it. I still get teary eyed when I hear Canon in D (the song I walked down the aisle to).

Thanks! I agree - this "strategy" has worked very well! :goodvibes

Yeah, a year and a half is great! I was worried that it might be too long, but it was a great decision. :thumbsup2

Thank you - that was just what I was going for! I've heard horror stories about planning, too. I think the key is definitely to take your time (and give yourself time)!

Thank you! I can't believe how close it is! Under 6 months now!

I love the save the dates. They are beautiful. Not much left to do now.:cool1:

Thank you so much! :goodvibes

 It's not really that fancy. ;) There were some elements that I was very adamant about having, though. Lighting and a string quartet were those things! :thumbsup2

I love Canon in D! That's going to be the song my bridal party walks in to. :goodvibes

6 MONTHS TO GO - ADR'S!

Hi everyone! I'm so sorry for my sporadic posting and replying lately (both here and on the TR). Work has been crazy. We're nearing the end of the implementation of a new expense system so there have been some very long hours required! Last week was also my last week of the semester so I of course had finals and projects. Thankfully I have a break for a month so I should be able to spend some more time around here! :goodvibes

So, today we are exactly 6 months until the disneymoon! We are so excited! :woohoo: And of course, the thing on any DISer's mind at the 6 month mark is ADR's!

Our ADR day is the 21st (Tuesday), and I think I finally have my final list put together. There are two days where I'm debating between two plans, so please give me your opinions!

Here's what I'm hoping to get Tuesday morning:
Sunday, June 19th
‘Ohana 8:00 pm

Monday, June 20th
Crystal Palace 8:00 am
Sci-Fi 7:30 pm

Tuesday, June 21st
Rose & Crown/Chefs? 12:00 pm
T-Rex 7:30 pm

* Here's one I'm debating. I'm not sure if I'd like to do R&C or Chefs for lunch. I'm currently leaning towards Chefs, but that changes pretty frequently! The menu at Chefs is more appealing, but I'm also worried that it might be a little heavy. I'd love to sit on the patio at R&C, though. :confused3

Wednesday, June 22nd
Narcoosees 8:00 pm

Thursday, June 23rd
Yak & Yeti 12:00 pm

Friday, June 24th
Liberty Tree Tavern 1:00 pm

Saturday, June 25th
Cape May Café 7:30 pm

Sunday, June 26th
Chef M’s/1900 PF 7:45 am
Mama Melrose (F!) 4:00 pm

* For this breakfast, I'm debating between Chef Mickey's and 1900 PF. Either would be a prefect location since we'd need a pretty early ADR to make it to DHS for rope drop, and a monorail resort would make it really simple. We went to CM's for dinner once and didn't like it, although I've heard breakfast is better. I'd like to try 1900 PF, but is it going to be too much for a character repeat after the Crystal Palace? :confused3

Monday, June 27th
Teppan Edo 8:30 pm

Tuesday, June 28th
Akershus 8:30 pm
La Hacienda 7:30 pm

Wednesday, June 29th
Cali Grill 6:30 pm

Thursday, June 30th
‘OHana 9:30 am

I hope I manage to get everything I want! Let me know what you think! :goodvibes

Dinner at Ohana your first night sounds perfect-- you can relax on the first night of your honeymoon!
I vote for Chef's, personally. Their lunch menu looks sooo yummy. Also, I think 1900 PF sounds better than CM's. I feel like their reviews are more consistently good.

I agree about the Chef's menu. If I could just get the vision of sitting out on the patio at R&C out of my head! :lmao:

my mother took our son to dinner at 1900 PF when we were there in october (whilst mommy and daddy had a grownup dinner at citricos!) And my mom said the characters were almost right after another, they saw them all, and the food was good. It's a tough choice! I like chef mickeys too! BUT i guess it also comes down to who you want to see? I hope this helps! and any decision you make will be a good one :)

I've never been to R&C so I'm no help with that one!

If the patio at R & C is what is making your choice difficult, let me offer this... it is hot out there. When I picture eating there, I remember sweating through dinner (though the meal we had inside was wonderful!). But then again, I do not tolerate heat at all and I sweat a lot (TMI?)

So based on that, I would go with Chefs.

I fell in love with the GF on our last trip, so I would pick 1900 PF because of that. Plus I've read lots of TRs that went there and most seemed to enjoy it a lot.

Good luck and I hope you get everything you want!!

Lovely ADR choices!! You inspired me to finalise our list for honeymoon too :woohoo: hehe

I highly recommend 1900 Park Fare - we've not been to Chef Mickey's.. but I've had two breakfasts at 1900 and loved it.. great mix of characters, ambience & yummy food!

We love Teppan Edo too! Btw are you ok missing Illuminations that evening? Tokyo Dining does has views of the lagoon, but TE doesn't.. was just wondering.. I'm hoping to book Teppan too; DF decided it is his all time fave Disney restaurant when we ate there last week! :cutie:

less than 6 months.... wow!!

Great ADR list! Hope you get everything you want!

Hmmmm...choosing between Rose and Crown and Chef's is tough, but I'd take Chef's I think! The menu does seem a little better! But you won't be disappointed with R&C either, Brandon and I had dinner there last year and loved it!

And for breakfast...I'd go with 1900 PF. I'm not a huge fan of CM's breakfast. The food is not great, it's loud and kind of annoying...the only thing I really loved about it was the character interaction! I probably won't do CM's again unless I have a kid!

I'm glad to hear your mom liked 1900 PF. It seems to get really good reviews - more so than Chef Mickey's.

Thank you so much for that advice - you just helped me make up my mind! I am not a fan of sweating while eating so sitting outside during the hottest part of the day probably isn't quite as fun as I had imagined!

I can't wait to hear what ADR's you choose. When is your day?

I'm so glad you liked breakfast at PF. I hear alot about the dinners there, but I admit I'm a little scared to try it because of the stepsisters! I'm pretty shy (Miguel is even worse than me) and I think they might be more irritating than funny to us. :confused3

I actually planned to get Teppan Edo during Illuminations. We'll be back to Epcot the following night to eat (of course) and watch the fireworks, so I wanted to try and take away the urge to hurry up and eat and get outside to see Illuminations on our TE night. I figured if I made the ADR late enough, we wouldn't have a choice! :lmao:

Thanks for your advice! I originally wanted to do dinner at R&C, but it just wouldn't fit in the schedule this time. I think I'll definitely plan a dinner there at a later time because I really want to try the fish and chips and sit out by the water!

We weren't fans of CM, either. We were actually really disappointed. Kind of strange that I was trying to decide whether we should go there or not, huh? :confused3

ADR SUCCESS!

I'm happy to report that Tuesday was a very successful morning! I set my alarm early that morning, as I planned to be up at 6 to do the reservations online. It worked out so well for me while making ADR's for our November trip that I figured why take the time to call? I will admit I was a little nervous though, because when I booked out ADR's for our January trip, the online system was experiencing a glitch and I couldn't book anything!

Thankfully, everything went very smoothly and I got everything I wanted! :woohoo: About half of the meals I got at the exact time I was hoping for, and the other half all fell within about 30 minutes of what I had planned. The only one that was slightly further from the planned time was California Grill. I was hoping for a 6:30 reservation, but ended up with a 5:50, so still not too far off. Plus, it was better to be earlier than later, because I had plans for another reservation that night...

If you remember back at the start of my PTR I mentioned wanting to do some special activities to really make the disneymoon a trip of a lifetime. One of those things was a fireworks cruise. I decided that dinner at Cali Grill and a Wishes cruise would be the perfect way to spend the final night of our honeymoon!

I called the recreation number after I got home from work Tuesday night and was able to get us booked on the Wishes cruise that night! The CM gave me the choice of a smaller boat with no music (obviously cheaper as well) and the larger boat that did have music piped in. The larger boat was only $50 more, so I decided to go with it! I'm so excited to get that last night planned. I think I'm going to let this be a surprise for Miguel! :cloud9:

the wishes cruise sounds like an awesome surprise and a great way to end the night:: Cali Grill for dinner and cruise!!!!! :)
So glad that everything went well with you wanting your ADR's and times, etc!
