Planning Nightime Activities...

My family of 4 (2 boys 9/7) is going to WDW April 20-27.

Is there stuff going on every night at some park, like fireworks,
parades etc.

We're planning the days out, but trying to plan the nights as well.
Any advice would be appreciated.

We're going for 8 days.

I'm looking for personal opinions about what to do at night with younger kids.

Should we plan to be out late every night, or just hang at the hotel and relax...

I'd plan a few nights of both!

I did that when Erich was younger.We staggered our getting up early days too! Actually we STILL do it...Mom can't go like she use too!

The parades and fireworks are MUST SEEs in my opinion! You should be able to work it out that you can see something late one night and rest the next night.

The hours for April are posted on the disneyworld.com website. The MK is open a little bit later during your trip. By the time you see Spectro, Illuminations, Wishes, Fantasmic and take the bus back to the AS, it will be quite late.

Spectro, Illuminations, Wishes, Fantasmic ...

Are these the nightime attractions? Cool!
Where are these held and which ones are worth going to?
Are they at the resorts every night, or do we have to plan to go to certain resorts on certain nights to see them?

You also might try spending the evening at DTD and a few hours there at Disney Quest. It's a blast even for "old" kids like me!

SpectoMagic is a nighttime parade held at MK -- however, it is not everyday, so check the calendar for days. Right after Spectro is Wishes at MK -- a fireworks show over the Castle at MK. You will see people staking out seats on Main Street quite early for Spectro. Wishes is held every night.

Fantasmic is my personal favorite and it is held every night at MGM. They built an outdoor stadium just for this show. Go early for good seats.

Illuminations is held every night at 9:00 at EPCOT. It is a laser/fireworks show on the lake.

All four of these shows are SPECTACULAR!!!
The resorts do not have much going on at night.
