I am planning our family's first trip for October of this year. Our family consists of DH, myself, DD8, DD6, DS4, and DS3. My biggest concern is about how we will do the rides since we have 2 adults, but 3 children under 7. DH and I are small (only about 5'5" and under 160 pounds). The kids are small for their age too (DD8 still hasn't hit the 50lb mark).

What rides will be a problem? Can we ride 3+3 on most rides? I know dd6 cannot ride alone, but what does "alone" mean. Could we ride 2+2+2 with two DD riding together directly in front of a parent? I seem to be getting conflicting information from different websites. I am mostly concerned about Barnstormer, Winnie the Pooh, Magic Carpets, Astro Orbiter, and the new Mine Train (boys will be tall enough) so it'd be nice for all 6 of us to ride.

My plan is to take the two girls by myself on some evening or maybe to a MNSSHP to go on the rides the boys aren't tall enough for. Can the 3 of us all ride together on Space Mountain, Splash Mountain, and BTMRR? At least when I'm with just them, the 8 yr. old can ride alone and I can ride with the 6 yr. old, right?

Please tell me what rides might potentially be a problem at MK. Thanks!!

For your MNSSHP plan, space mountain has single row cars, all three of you could sit one in front of another. Splash Mountain you might be able to squeeze all three of you in. And BTMRR is 2 to a seat for sure, however, you should all be fine on the mountains.

As for everything else, as long as your littlest is tall enough to ride, and there are adults going as well, you should be okay as nobody will be alone.

Hope this helps.

You could probably fit 3 in a Thunder Mtn car - we've done it with two adults and one kid, so one adult and two kids would be even easier.

As the PP mentioned, Space Mtn is single file, so you'd be ok there as long as the kids are ok with that set up (my DS7 won't ride it because he wants one of us next to him on thrill rides).

The Barnstormer may not fit three in a seat - it's been a while since we've been on that, but I think they may let your 8 and 6 yr old ride together if they're right in front of you.

I haven't been since the new 7 Dwarfs ride opened, so I don't know how that one works for seating.

Toy Story Mania at HS may present a problem for your family. The cars seat four, with two seats on each side. We are a family of 5, so when the youngest was little, I'd put him in my lap and he'd "help" me shoot. We did the same for Buzz Lightyear in MK.

Spaceship Earth in Epcot has cars that are designed for two people, but you can fit three, especially with kids. There's one part where your picture is taken (the pictures of your heads are used later in the ride). At this part, I'd put DS in my lap and duck out of the way so he and whoever else I was riding with got their pictures taken.

The Speedway at MK could pose a problem also. I can't remember if you can fit three in a car, but I'm thinking no.

Other than that, I think you're ok. Rides like Haunted Mansion and Peter Pan can definitely fit three to a car. Dumbo can too.
