When I got married, I made a list of "must have" photos and a general outline of pages for my scrapbook ahead of the wedding. It was fantastic, and made putting the album together SO much faster and easier!

Now I'm planning my family's first trip to Disney World and I'm hoping you can help me come up with ideas on not-to-miss pictures and pages. I'll be doing digital scrapbooking for the first time and I'm excited about the whole project!

This is a great idea!

Seems like a no brainer -- but make sure you get a photo at the entry to every park -- by the castle, the tree of life, spaceship earth, and the sorcerer's hat. Took me 5 trips to get them all! Don't forget the resort too.

Take photos of signs and "things" to to fill out your pages -- like the statues around the castle hub.

Make sure you pass the camera around, so that the regular photographer gets in the photos too.

I'm doing the same thing! I have already done a page of pre-planning stuff with scanned copies of hte planning books I am using and custom journals that I have found here in the DisBoards. And I am doing a page of "paperdolls" for each member of the family that is attending because I am doing a Grand Gathering.
I already have a lsit of "ideas" for pages so that I can make sure I get the pictures that I want. One tip I always follow is to take pictures of the attraction signs.
I am also doing a page based on a t-shirt design I found here (I believe from Donatalie) called "Conquering the mountains". I have the tiltes, boxes and check marks for all 4 mountains with the plan to take pictures of whatever mountains we ride. It's all ready for "construction" now.

I plit my scrapbooks into daily "chapters" so I can sort of pre-plan those pages also. I find it helpful to jot down my scrapbook page ideas before the trip and then also make notes while on vacation for unexpected things that happen.

And remember - if you forget to take a photo of something after you return, you can always place a request on the "does anyone have a photo of..." thread. It takes a bit of the pressure off that way.

I'm planning on printing in a Shutterfly album, which has a 100 page limit. That is perfect for me to get a nice long album, plenty of room for lots of pictures, a specific end. Even planned ahead, my wedding album expanded into two albums; I had over 2000 pictures!

So I'm thinking of the various categories and I think I'll do one two-page spread for each park, with a border all around the pages of small pictures and a big main picture in the middle like at the entrance of each park, plus a two-page spread for each land within the parks, and an occasional one-pages for specific rides like Dumbo, the teacups, Nemo, etc. I'm also adding two pages for each sit down meal (8) since many have characters and I anticipate a lot of character pictures!

At the beginning of the album, I'm going to have a page for itinerary, on the plane, and our resort and hotel room (before and after we take it over!)

here's a few more THEME ideas...

1) the tourist page I did this for my 05 trip and had a pic of eating, waiting in line for an attraction and the bus, napping in the park, in the ponchos, consulting a map, etc

2) for your last page I always journal everyone's favorite memory from the trip or list the Top 10 things...and in my 05 book I included a pic of my DMIL & DFIL walking hand in hand out of AK...theirs backs facing the camera.

3) getting ready to go in my 08 book I did a page up w/ pictures of all our Diz stuff, luggage, Mickey mail, countdown board, etc

4) resort..don't forget the pre-lived in room pic's, door #, building name sign

5) I did a fun Pirates and Princess Themed layoyut

6) if you plan to go agian think about a few icons in the park that probably will always be there and maybe not the obvious ones and take a family shot or just your kids....my DH & I have a picture of us on the NY backdrop in DHS from all 6 trips so far. I have pictures of my kids in front of AK sign too from their 3 trips so far. and my DS has had his picture taken w/ Zurg in jail at BLAB ride each trip.

7) don't forget your family picture w/ Mickey Mouse!

8) food, dining, etc. in my 08 book I did 2 layouts of just food and eating.

9) World showcase mask thru the countries..if one of your kids is going to collect the tags at each country. Take a picture of your child outside each county w/ mask on and off and do a layout of that too!

man I think I could go on...I love scrapping Disney :thumbsup2

Have FUN!!!!!! pixiedust:
