The wedding is coming up so fast!
So my bridesmaids and I went to David's Bridal yesterday for a dress appointment. I wasn't really picky about bridesmaid dresses. I wanted them to wear a short dress in apple (David's Bridal color) and I wanted them to match. That was it. Unfortunately, my bridesmaids were picky. Even though I had picked out a few styles beforehand, asked each of the girls individually what looked best on them, and decided the length of the dress (short), the whole thing was kind of a mess

. One of the bridesmaids kept running around the dress shop, grabbing new dresses. Another bridesmaid was unhappy with any short dress (even though I had told her beforehand that I wanted them to wear tea-length dresses). They all have about the same dress size, but subtle differences in their body types. For example, my future sister-in-law is very short. Some of the short dresses looked like they were meant to long dresses on her (but were a few inches too short). Another bridesmaid is very tall. Some of the long dresses were too short on her, while my future sister-in-law was dragging a foot of fabric on the ground. Two of the girls are busty, two of the girls are not. Almost every dress we tried on 3 out of the four girls loved it and then the fourth one hated it. It took us four hours to decide on a bridesmaid dress! I felt so bad for the David's Bridal consultant (especially when my bridesmaids raided the shoes and threw shoe boxes everywhere). But it is done. My bridesmaids finally agreed on a style. Here is the link (we got it in apple):

They also picked out shoes at David's Bridal. I told the girls that they could wear any shoe that they wanted as long as it was black, silver, or apple (and comfortable). I suggested that they get a pair of black strappy heals from their closet so they wouldn't have to buy any new shoes. Then the David's Bridal consultant showed my bridesmaid (the one who kept grabbing dresses) THE shoes. A peep toe, 3.5 in heel with a big bow. The girls wanted these shoes sooo bad (they cared more about the shoes than the dress, go figure

). I told my MOH that I was a little concerned about the heel height because I am wearing flats to the wedding (my FI is about .5 in shorter than me) and I didn't want my bridesmaids to tower over me too much (the heels made my MOH and 2 of the bridesmaids about 7 in taller than me. My MOH then suggested that she get a shorter heel (I love her so much

) so that she became the same height as me. So the three bridesmaids are wearing the bow shoes and my MOH is wearing strappy heels. They are all dyed apple (my MOH has to wait 2 weeks for hers to be dyed, the others all got their shoes in Apple the day of). So now only two of my bridesmaids will be taller than me. My MOH and my future sister-in-law will be the same height as me. Here is a picture of the shoes my bridesmaids got (in apple):

I also brought my dress to David's Bridal to try on their slips under it. I found out that I don't need a slip after all! It makes no difference. I also decided that I didn't need a corset (there is one built into the dress). Soooo all I need now for my bridal "look" is a comfy pair of flats and a strapless bra that I love. I will probably find both at a place that doesn't sell "wedding stuff".
I went in to Men's Wearhouse and looked at tux's today. Is it just me or do most of those tux jackets look the same? Josh says it has to do with the fabric (if it is cooler or warmer)

. I picked out the color and the pattern on the vests, and I let Josh choose the rest. I think we might change our style to something a little cheaper. We have until May 1st to nail down a style and get all of the measurements, though. I was amazed at how fast this appointment was (it took us maybe 20 minutes).
My future sister-in-law offered to throw me a bridal shower

. I am so excited! My MOH also started talking to me about the bachelorette party. My future mother-in-law has yet to discuss the rehearsal dinner with me (she offered to take care of it, but she hasn't really mentioned it since she offered). Yay for pre-wedding parties

!
In the next week, I hope to get the invites and send them out. I have a lot of work to do with the invites. I haven't even gathered all of the addresses yet! I also haven't picked out the invites

! I know I am such a bad procrastinator

. At least we are going with a DIY kit that I can pick up from the store. That way, we don't need to wait for our order to arrive in the mail.
