Planning a Disneymoon is Way More Fun Than Planning a Wedding...My First PTR

Hey Kira,

I like your bridesmaids dresses. So funny, I was just in Target and staring at those napkins and plates. I'm super obsessed with butterflies. I love them. I was trying to figure out a reason to get those plates and napkins. Can't wait to hear about your luncheon.

Thanks :goodvibes! You could throw some sort of luncheon/tea. Did you see the adorable tea pot that matches the plates I bought? They also have a tiered tray, cups, and plates. I love butterflies, too. They are so pretty :lovestruc

So I have almost finished my bridesmaid gifts. Here is a picture of the contents of their bags (I haven't finished the survival kits yet, but they are in the pic). I am also going to put in a bag of unpopped popcorn tied with a pretty ribbon to a box of their favorite candy.

I made little tags for each of the bridesmaid totes. Here are two pictures of them.

I also bought a green tablecloth and a butterfly plater from target. Here is a pic:

We bought a bunch of ceiling decorations from the dollar tree. We are going to hang them up at the reception. Here is a pic of three of them side-by-side.

I think we are going to put rhinestones in the middle of the flowers.

Love how the the bridesmaid's gifts turned out!

The butterfly plates are great!

How are you holding up? Sounds like things are coming together well!

Thanks. I think my bridesmaids will be happy with their gifts :goodvibes.

I am doing okay. I am mostly excited :hyper: and a little (okay, maybe more than a little) stressed out. Things are coming together really fast, but we still have so much to do. I don't think we are ever going to get it all done! I need to do a sound check for the reception/ ceremony, gather music and make playlists, decide on a first dance song, get the flower girl basket, decide on the tux styles, buy shoes for the wedding day, buy shoes/ clothes for the trip, go in for a trial hair appointment, start working on the wedding vows, apply for a marriage license and finalize the wedding flower order. I am going in to get the wedding dress cleaned and pressed this weekend. Also, my bridal shower is on April 16th. I am sure I am forgetting something in that list :goodvibes. Oh well. At least I am keeping myself busy

I completely forgot to mention that my White's Tree Frog died a few days ago :sad1:. It was kind of a surprise because he never really acted sick. I just walked in the office room to mist his cage and he was "gone". Poor guy :( He was a good frog and he will be missed :(

On a happier note, I got an email from Disney Vacation Club. I got a $20 gift card for talking to them on the phone for about ten minutes. I haven't received that card in the mail yet (although I should probably check the post office after what happened to my gift card last time ).

Speaking of Disney gift cards, is anyone else experiencing difficulties with the Disney Honeymoon Registry website? It seems to be down all of the time! Every now and then, it tells me that I do not have a registry with them! I keep calling and they keep telling me that the site needs to be renovated, and that there are no plans to fix the site in the near future :headache:. Gee thanks, Disney Honeymoon CMs. Oh, and there was the oh-so-helpful advice to clean out my cookies and use a different browser. Like their site is down because I am using Safari instead of Internet Explorer :rolleyes2. I did try using different computers and different browsers, though. It didn't help. The problem isn't on my end, it is on theirs.

Sorry about your frog. :(

Great job on the bridesmaid bag. Makes me feel a little bad though, I haven't done anything for mine! Hmmm, maybe I should? I have no clue where to even begin! Haven't been to enough weddings in my life...

I don't think you have to get your bridesmaids anything...I am mostly doing these DIY projects because it keeps me from freaking out about the wedding ! I think I am going a little overboard because my bridesmaids paid so much for their dresses.

I feel your pain when it comes to lack of wedding experience. I have only been to one wedding in the last few years. I can't remember any of the weddings I went to when I was little! It doesn't help that I am the first one in my group of friends to get married. No one really knows what to do :goodvibes

I can't believe how fast this wedding is coming up...a month left to go! :bride: So here is what is going on since my last update.

I got a new job . I am now the new morning kennel attendant at the local veterinary office! Unfortunately, "morning" means 4:30 am :scared:! I work from 4:30 am-7:30ish every Wed-Sat. Even though it is early, the job is actually pretty fun. I take the dogs outside, clean cages, feed the cats/dogs, record if they eat/go potty, give meds, ect. And the best part? I don't have to clean stinky mouse cages in the pouring rain :woohoo:

My bridal shower is this weekend. I am so excited! I am worried I am going to be sick this weekend, though . I started feeling like I was getting a cold on Monday, but I suspected it was allergies. I finally took an allegra this morning and started feeling a little better. I hope that whatever this is (allergies or cold), I will get better by this Saturday. I feel awful right now, though.

Here is a picture of the dress I bought for the shower. I am debating whether to return it or not...It fits me well but the size listed on the dress is like 2x the size I normally wear. Weird, right?

I got a $25 gift card from Disney! I listened to a Disney Vacation club guy for about 5 minutes on the phone and he sent me a gift card in the mail :goodvibes

I bought new shoes for the trip! I am usually a huuuge supporter of wearing socks and sneakers to Disney parks, but on the last trip I went on Kali (in the morning) and got my feet soaking wet. My sneakers didn't dry at all and I spent all day (ALL day...I didn't go back to the room to change) with wet socks. My feet looked soooo nasty and wrinkly by the end of the day. It was a horrible experience. The next day I wore a pair of speedo water shoes (they look like croc knock-offs. In other words, no socks) to Epcot. I was so glad because it started pouring rain. My feet got wet, but this time they dried! The speedo shoes were really, really ugly, though (and not very comfy), so I decided to buy a pair of crocs. Here is a pic with the minnie mouse bow jibbitzs that I bought.

Here is a picture of the sparkly mickey head jibbit I bought (I only bought one because they are $4 a piece plus shipping, but I think I will buy another one).

And finally, I bought a Tinkerbelle mini backpack for $12 at Walmart. It is the perfect size for the parks! It is so cute. It has little rhinestones on it :goodvibes

Love love love the Tinkerbell bag! What a gear find, for only 12$.

I think you should totally wear that dress for your shower.

Do you know what your bachelorette will consist of? Mine was last weekend and it was a blast!

Congrats on the new job! That is super early, but I'm a person who enjoys working in a kennel (good thing, since I will be working one for the rest of my life :rotfl: ), so I know what you mean about it being fun!

I really like that dress you got for your shower! I hope you feel better soon!

And, you've inspired me to look into some Disney jibbitz for my Crocs. Since I only wear them at WDW anyway, I really should Disney them up. So thanks for the idea!

Thanks :) I decided to keep the dress. I will post pics after the shower. I went over to my future sis-in-law's place and got a sneak peak of the menu, favors, games, etc. I am so excited :goodvibes

I have no idea what my bridesmaids are doing for my bachelorette. Because so many of us are under 21, we can't go bar hopping. I think that we might just go out to eat and have a girl's movie night or something. What did you do for your shower?

I forgot, where do you work? I love working with animals. Every day is different :goodvibes.

Thanks :goodvibes I started taking allegra and I feel a lot better. Now I have a canker sore in the back of my throat (literally in the back of my throat). It feels so weird, but at least I don't have a stuffy nose anymore

Go for the disney jibbitz! I love them :goodvibes.

I completely forgot to say congrats on your new job! :thumbsup2

For my bachelorette we had dinner, then a few of us went out to a club and danced all night. We also had another activity in the afternoon, which I'm waiting on pictures before I say more. :goodvibes
