Add us to the countdown!
We got our dates all set. We will be there July 12 - 21 '08

* Driving down from NH
* 10 day stay at FW in a cabin (1st time in a cabin :woohoo: )
* 7 day park hoppers (just purchased 2 of the 3)
* 1 day universal or 1 day sea world (never been to SW)
* day of resort hopping
* day off at campground

this is the only place we can 'share this' co-workers would call me crazy :laughing:

The new prices usually come out in July

Does everyone think it is cheaper to buy a package, or is it cheaper to price it out separate.

It all seems to depend on what your needs are and whether there are any codes for the time you are going. For us, we like the DDP (Disney Dining Plan) so we went with a package. For others who don't want the DDP, a la carte pricing might work out better.

As of right now, we are on the fence abt DDP. While I like it, DD will be 11, and doesnt even come close to eating adult meals!
However, I like knowing everything is paid for...it worked well this last trip , she was 9, she turned 10 right after we got home!
It will depend on what kind of deal I can get next year.

We decided on DDP. When I did the math for the character meals we want to do that we will use TS credits for, then I averaged out the remaining balance over the course of our stay we would have to spend less than $25 (total, not per person) a day on additional meals to spend less than the dining plan. So it will really save us some money, even if our kids don't eat much since most of the character meals are buffet and a fixed price. (did that make sense?)

Anyhow, I did the math and for us the DDP is a good option. Plus I too like having it paid for before we go. Less to worry about!

Yep, that makes sense! We probably will do DDP..nothing like going on vacation and knowing all you need money for is fun stuff! It does make a differance..besides..I love to plan! Have you selected your TS restaurants yet? We did Ohanas last trip and loved it, great for kids!!

We are going 7/30-8/6 and are doing the DDP for the first time. I am interested in seeing how much we actually end up saving when I get home and tally it up. It is definately going to determin if we ever do it again.

Yep. We have most of the TS places planned out. I had to add an extra day to the trip to have enough TS credits to do everything! Darn! :rolleyes1 You know it was just so much more cost effective to add the day on there!!!!!:rotfl: (Gotta love the fuzzy math)

We will do Ohana, DS (4) just really watched Lilo and Stitch for the first time yesterday. He is just really getting into watching movies. So we have to go there. We are doing CRT and 1900 Park Fare for DD. Chef Mickey's and then the last one is California Grill (gotta eat there). We might add Crystal Palace. I don't know yet. Then I would have to pay OOP for something. OR we might not eat a full meal at California Grill and just pay OOP for that... Little details!!! I know there are a lot of really great place to eat in the World, but DH and the kids are very picky. I am so glad there are all the menus online here!

DD and I have also loked at places in the parks we want to get counter service. She insists on Pizza Planet, even though I told her people say it is not like the movie.

We will be going on either Feb8 or 9th for 8 nights. I can't wait to book our trip! We get the DDP, so we have to wait for the package rate. I usually book through AAA. At least I will be able to book my air fare shortly.

I don't know for sure where we are going to stay this time. I would really like to stay at either WL or AKL, it is already a tough decision. Also, we may end up staying at CSR, it is the only moderate that I have not stayed at yet.

Needless to say, I wish I could book it right now, I always feel better once I actually book it. :goodvibes

We were supposed to be going this year, but decided next year would work out better:idea: a little dissapointed, but we'll get there eventually.

We are going to go the first or second week of May!!! we want to stay in 2 connecting rooms at allstar movies!!!! Definately doing the DDP, we already know where we want to eat, it's so fun to look at the menus!
We are going to reserve our room only sometime after easter, to start paying on it, then switch it to a pkge when they come out:goodvibes

Well. already changed my res for next year!! lol
Going with the WDW Dolphin...I never even considered it in the past!
However, there is so much to do there in a great spot....close to so many things! So no DDP for us...even tho DH didnt think it would work out for this trip! And no ME.....

I can post here too :cool1: . We are going in Feb'08 for our first trip to WDW. We have been to DL twice and fell in love both times.
These are the plans that we have so far.

Feb 7-14 PORS
Feb 14-17 DCL Disney Wonder

We are going to be staying at least one more night since we will fly home on the 18th so not sure where we will be staying yet. Can't get rates yet. Any suggestions for off site hotels. We do want to go back to WDW for at least the Sunday since we will have days left on our Land & Sea package.

Reservations are made and we have a confirmation number for February 13 through 23, 2008 at Shades of Green. :banana: I can't wait and so the countdown begins. It just seems real now that we have the rooms reserved.:cheer2:

Add me to the list. The last time we went to Disney was 4 years ago and I promised the kids we'd go back in 5 years before my DD turns 10, so that's 2008!:banana:

We've never stayed onsite before, but I really want to try it and the DDP. This time it's going to be all about the food.:thumbsup2 I really would love to be able to stay at a moderate at least, but I'm already having a hard time justifying the additional cost of not staying offsite. I don't know if and when we'll get back (DH doesn't share the same love, he likes FL, not so much the parks) so I want to be able to do EVERYTHING this trip, but within a budget.

My kids will be 7 and almost 10 so I think it will be a fun age to go. My other hang up is the time of year to go. Any time that I have been there in the past has been March/April and love that time of year, but am contiplating Jan/Feb to keep the cost down, but wonder if it will be warm enough for my liking. (Anything has to be better than MN right?) We'd also like to be able to stay one night on the Gulf side at a beach. Lots of planning!

On a side note, I am going to Orlando for 3 days the end of April for a business trip, so I hope to scope things out and get a real feel for where I want to stay. Unfortunately no Disney in the plans, except eating at a resort and Downtown Disney!

Add me to the list of people counting down to 2008. Well, first, I have an adults only trip planned for my 40th b-day in Sept. 2007, but the next family trip will be in 2008 - either February or April. That still has to be decided - it depends on whether DH (a teacher) has the the same break as the boys do in April. We're getting a week off in April next year for Passover, so the weather should nice and I'm hoping not too crowded.

We'll probably be in SSR. We own points there and we like it. Not sure about the DDP. My oldest son will be 11 and the adult price will not be worth it for him at all! He barely eats. I'll have to figure out whether it'll be worth it for the whole family.

It should be fun planning together! :goodvibes
