Planners for 2008 - Join me here! UPDATE - List in OP!!!

Just wanted to add to the pp update. ALL Ears Net released an article the other day that said there would be changes in the reservation system and rates. It said that this would be effective June 23, 2007. It might be an assumption, but this would seem like a likely date for the new package rates to be released as well.

That's exactly what I was thinking...:cool1: Now we will just have to see whether or not we will be doing the DDP or not. :confused3

I have a question about Pop Century. We're staying there next June and we're trying to figure out which building to stay at. There will be 3 children so we will want to be close to where the buses pick you up and also the swimming pool. Any suggestions?pirate:

Last time we were at Pop we were in the 50's in the Tramp building...which was perfect for us...close enough to the bus and food court but not right in the thick of things. I am hoping we will be in the same area again, but I believe that this building is now a "preferred" building so we will just get what they give us.

I have a question. Being new to this, with the price increase change in 2008 do you think that the room prices at the Pop with increase alot? My daughter is now thinking that maybe we should stay off site. I really don't like that idea but she's thinking about saving money.pirate:

I am just joining this post and haven't read all of them 'cause there's just too doggone many.

Our family just returned from our 12th WDW trip in 10 year's time. When I say we just got back...I mean it literally. We arrived back in West Monroe, Louisiana about 2:45 a.m. on Sunday, June 10th.

We started planning our June, 2008 trip while driving back home. We had a lot of time to talk too 'cause the drive is 14 or more hours (depends on the weather).

For the first ten trips, we stayed offsite in a suite. (nothing fancy) On our 11th and 12th trips, we stayed at the Caribbean Beach Resort. We absolutely loved both stays.

Next year, our daughter (20) may bring along her boyfriend (19). My husband and I are 41 and our son will be 11.

We really aren't the deluxe resort type people because of our budget but we might could swing the "cheap" rooms at Wilderness Lodge or Animal Kingdom Lodge.

I know that a family of 5 can stay at the Port Orleans resorts but, since we are from Louisiana, the theming is not up our alley 'cause that's the kind of scenery we see every day.

Anybody able to provide some very detailed information on the All Stars Family Suites?

Thanks a bunch, Lisa

We called WDW planning and were told that rates will be out end of June - beginning of July to be able to book 08 trips... woo hoo we cant wait to book our trip.... :) WOO HOO WOO HOO :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2:

I don't understand..I already booked our May '08 and our Oct '08 trips. Why do you have to wait?:confused3

You booked your room and the RATE they quoted you was the 2007 price. They will release the 2008 prices and packages soon... and there is a lot of speculation about changes happening in 2008. So, we are all waiting for these 2008 rates to be released. Some are waiting to book to see what they can afford or to book packages which you can't book till these come out. Hope that helps!

You may have booked your room but they are at the 07 rate which will be adjusted when the new 08 rates come out... - but you cant book packages yet... so you might what to check what you have booked... we are going through WDW directly (TAs cant book trips yet either) the rates should be out soon according to the CM we spoke to this week...

Ooooh!! I sure hope this is true! When I called last month I was told June 1st, and well....we all know that wasn't true.:sad1:

I CAN'T WAIT!!!

I HOPE ITS SOON - I am going to go into meltdown if I cant get my trip booked soon!!! man I want to give them money and they wont take it... :rotfl:

I check the website everyday!!!! HA HA HA

I am marking June 23rd on my work calender RIGHT NOW... Man I hope thats right... we were told end of June - beg of July... so thats right in there

I just got off the phone with Walt Disney World Reservations. I was told that the package prices do not come out until mid-August. He said this was the information that was given to him this a.m. when the reservations switchboard opened.

I know me though, I will be calling every three or four days to see if they come out early.

Last year, I checked the website daily. The package prices were posted online the same day they can out by telephone. That date was August 15th.

You can book a room only right now but like the previous posters said, the rooms are at the 2007 rates and there will be an increase. You can change the room only reservation to a package later when the package prices come out.

:scared1: Starting to second guess myself on our hotel choice? The kids are going to want to do the water parks a lot, should I switch from BWI to CSR? :confused3

Just letting everyone know that I have started my own thread where are you staying in 2007 / 2008 thread. So if you are going sometime in 2007 or 2008, come on over and post. I will keep that thread updated as I do with the ADR thread and Special Events thread. Here is the link

We are going to SSR from Feb 9 - 16 2008.
Can't wait!!! And yes - my 180 day mark is already set in my calendar....

Do any of the posts about people not getting ADRs at 180 days out make anyone else nervous?

Personally, I think it is ridiculous. Some people know what the recordings sound like before it even speaks so they hang up and try again. I've also read that some people interrupt the CM on the phone during their "Hi how are you" introduction and blurt out the ADR they want so they can type it in real fast. I am SO not doing that!! If I have to fight over an ADR, I just won't bother. It just seems to take the fun out of things.

I will say this....we go during the off season, and I haven't had problems getting any ADR's, even if I call ON the day that I want them for Dinner. I love the off-season. So much more laid back.:thumbsup2

I know I'm late but can I join in on this thread... I just signed up for an account today but have been lurking for a while hehe...

anyway we are planning a land vacation for the 24th -29th of June for my sisters 30th( im doing the cruise for mine hehe).. looking at maybe POFQ but im thinking of lying to my sis as I book the ressies and bump us up to the boardwalk(its her dream)

i can not wait to start planning this portion of our 2008 trip..cruise is booked!! when I called the other day the agent told me not till sept or oct so i am happy to see it may be the end of this month!!!!

WELCOME!!! Congrats on your booked cruise! We are talking about taking one hopefully within the next 2 years.

Isn't it funny how we all get different "dates" for when the rates are supposed to come out?? That's why we should keep our eyes peeled and ears open from this month forward. Can't wait to book a trip and feel "official".

I agree it can get ruthless when it comes to making ADR's. I booked my trip in January and made ADR's up until I left in the middle of March. I was able to get everything I wanted w/ the exception of one. And she said it was because we wanted to sit together (large party) :confused3 And I always think it counts when being nice to the CM's.
