Planners for 2008 - Join me here! UPDATE - List in OP!!!

We (Myself, DW, DD 8, 11, and 13) are going to stay at CR from June 16 to June 24 in 2008. It'll be our first trip, and I'm so excited I can barely see straight. I'm obsesed. I probably need professional help. We're going with a Garden wing room, figuring we could stay one extra day for what a tower room would cost. I think that's a good trade-off.

I'm working with a TA who's a good friend of mine. She's very, very knowledgable about all travel, not necessarily Disney, though. She says she does Disney trips 'all the time', and I believe her, but here's the question: She says she can get me good ADR's, and not to worry. Do TA's have a better way of getting ADR's? Or should I tell her thanks, but I'll handle it myself? I don't want to insult her by asking how she runs her business. She just told me to get the names of the places we want to eat at and she'd handle the rest.

Maybe I'm just a control freak and need to relax...

See you there!

Hopefully I will be going back to DW in Dec 2008. I really want to see how everything is decorated for the holidays because to me the holidays are the most magical time of year. What better to go to the most magical place on earth at the most magical time of year? We just got back from our Disneymoon 2 weeks ago and I am a little depressed (mind you I don't miss the walking or the hot and humid days!) and missing the magic. December 2008 is not set in stone though b/c if I'm pregnant or if we have a baby...then we are going to put our plans on hold. Hopefully the trip or the baby will happen...I'd be very sad if neither did!

Thank you! I can not wait for the cruise... it seems to be WONDERful ;)

I was hoping yesterday was going to be the day to book, but no luck  hopefully soon...it is driving me NUTS... i am a huge planner hehe

WELCOME!!! Congrats on your booked cruise! We are talking about taking one hopefully within the next 2 years.

Isn't it funny how we all get different "dates" for when the rates are supposed to come out?? That's why we should keep our eyes peeled and ears open from this month forward. Can't wait to book a trip and feel "official".

Hi Eric

I know how you feel about wanting to control your vacation plans. I am the same way. I have never heard of a travel agent booking dining reservations. It does not pay them a commission and could take up a lot of their time. Plus if they can't get you in, it might make you wonder if they called in time etc.... Since she is a friend, try asking her about it and see if there is something they get to do that the public does not. I would not want a friend to do "work"for me and not earn a wage, she might appreciate that you are concerned about her.

I just called Disney Reservations to see when I can book our vacation package. We have our hotel booked but was curious when we can book the whole deal. She said to call back at the end of July beginning of August :confused3 ? Has anyone heard anything different then that?

I just got back from MK last week and today I booked our stay at WL for May7-10 2008:banana:
This is my first post on the DIS. I hope to write a trip report after our May vacation in 2008.

I hope it is soon! We are going in Jan/Feb and I want to book the package now. LOL

Please let the rates come soon. I have been checking every single day. We decided to switch our resort again.

My DH is afraid that the construction at AKL might keep our 17-month-old from taking his nap. We are now going back and forth between WL and Poly.

I wish all decisions in life were this tough!:thumbsup2

I am so glad I found this thread as I cannot say this out loud. Here is my story.

I am planning a 3 family grand gathering which starts on July 21. Since I am also planning to join a ladies only trip in November, I have decided that it makes the most sense to buy an AP when I arrive in July. My husband is aware of this. What he does not know is that I am also planning to take my nephew down for his first ever trip sometime next year before my AP expires and my nephew turns 10. Whew! There, I have said it! I feel a bit better, but please, don't tell my DH! :rolleyes1

I don't yet have a date set for the trip.

Why are they doing this to us.... :) I just want to book my trip and make it more real... SIGH.... PLEASE Disney bring out your 2008 rates PLEASE!!!!

:sad2: :guilty:   :confused3 :surfweb: :scared1:

I'm going next June for the first time at WDW. I'm going with my daughter and grandkids!!! I can't wait!!! I have always wanted to go!!!:flower:

Sorry I got a little carried away.
We, Dh and I, are going to the World in October. It will be my first and he was there about thirty years ago or so. My DH has given me permission(like I needed it) to book a once in a lifetime dream WDW trip.

9 days at the Poly Concierge with lagoon view(he wants to wake up and see the castle from he bed:rotfl: )
Dining Plan
Tickets with park hopper
Suprise B-Day trip for him to Richard Petty Speedway(will be 38 during trip)
Celebrating 5th anniversary at World
And the icing on the cake-:wizard: 4 nights aboard the Wonder in a Cat 3 suit(he suggested it:woohoo: )

So I am still shocked that Mr Mizer himself, oh I mean my sweet DH didnt even bat an eye when I estimated the cost. His reply was "Well it is our 5th anniversary trip". Oh at that moment he became my hero.:cool2:

So we have already booked the cruise, now I am anxiously awaiting the 2008 prices to come out.popcorn::

Now I am doing my DIS homework and making lots of notes, yes I too suffer from OCVP. DH caught me surfing the DIS last month and said "Why the Heck are you looking at someone elses vacation photos" I replied "Honey its research, how do you think I come up with all the fun stuff we usually do on vacation". He saw me on here this morning and he sat and watched, maybe I might just of gotton our little DIS cult:rotfl2: another follower.

I ordered my pre order 2008 Passporter, have let everyone in the family and the surrounding towns know that for any gift giving event the gift of choice is Disney dollars (I recieved some yesterday for my B-Day- boy are they cool:dancer:

I am trying hard not to check the luggage, maybe there is come medication for my problem:confused3

I am glad I found this link- LET THE COUNTDOWN BEGIN:thumbsup2

Well...I'm not telling anyone in my family yet because they all think I'm crazy already (why give them more ammunition, LOL? :rotfl: ) ~ BUT, after being home for just a week, I am already planning our next trip. I plan on staying December 28, 2008 ~ January 3, 2009. I am undecided on a resort at this point but most likely it will be a value. :)

Need to switch my dates from October 2008 to July. I am now going June 30-July 5. I have POFQ booked, but I am not sure if that is what I am sticking with.:rolleyes1

I am planning on going with my DD and my parents Feb. 4 - 10. We were there last Dec. and I am so excited to go back. I am trying to decide on a resort and I keep changing my mind. I am thinking either GF, WL, or BWI. We had the convienence of the monorail last time with the CR, and I am not sure my dad will be willing to give that up to stay at WL or BWI!!!

Best wishes to everyone in their planning/anticipating. I am right there with y'all!

Don't feel bad. My husband and I started planning our 2008 vacation while driving home from our June, 2007 vacation. It's a 14 hour drive so we were able to do a lot of talking.

People think we are crazy too. We've been going to WDW every year (sometimes more than once a year) for 10 years now. We've got 12 trips under our belt.

We've stayed at the CBR two times in a row and are thinking about going with another resort this time. That's not to say we didn't like the CBR because we loved everything about it. I sing it's praises every chance I get. I just want to stay somewhere different.

I have looked at the www.disneyworld.com website trying to get an idea of the prices (I know they are 2007 but I can get an idea). To bump up to the Wilderness Lodge would be over $1,000.00 from what a stay at a moderate would be. To downgrade to Pop Century would only save us about $550.00 because I would definitely want to pay the money for a refrigerator.

I'm thinking we won't downgrade because I want the extra square footage. I'm thinking we won't upgrade because I want to save the extra $1,000.00.

Decisions! Decisions! Decisions!
