Planners for 2008 - Join me here! UPDATE - List in OP!!!

we are all booked up for next year

Arriving 4/30, staying at Pop for 18 nights. Don't think we will be doing the dining plan as we will have a car and want to try some offsite places and don't really want to have to do a strict itinarary for such a length of stay

I will be going in may 2008 the frist week. there will be a group of eight . two of them will be children . :cheer2: I HABE NOT BEEN SINCE I WAS 18 MANY YEARS AGO!! I can not wait to go :cool1:

We are trying to decide on dates, and I want INPUT from ya'll people:

April 13-19: Is this week still Peak? And: is this week Spring Break where ya'll are from?
April 20-26: Is this week Peak? And: is it Spring Break for you? (it is for us in Va Beach)
April 29- May 3: any reason why this isn't the Most Perfect of Possible Weeks?

So far we have decided:

When: late April or May, but we have to work around DD's dancing school in May...
Where: Polynesian! We're hooked!
Tickets: 5 day hoppers
Transportation: fly down on a Sunday (for $100 each, nonstop. What? It is the YOAMD isn't it? ;) ) take ME to the Resort, and monorail everywhere we can; ME back on Saturday to MCO and fly on home.
Must Dos: DDP!!! CRT for breakfast, the Luau, and MANY rides on Snow White (we rode it over 25 times last trip. I wish I was kidding.)

Nice to join you!

We're thinking of a grand gathering for Sept 25th to Oct 5th. Also celebrating our 10 year anniversary and DH's birthday.

Crossing fingers

We're planning on going down April 27-May 3 and staying at the Family Suites. It will be me(37) dh(40) ds(6) dd(4/almost 5) and dd(1).

So far I have planned on arriving early on Sunday and spending the day at the resort and pool. Then doing dinner at Ohana's and possibly watching wishes from there or going out to the beach after dinner and watching it. I also want to take dd4 to do the BBB and I'm trying to decide if I want to do breakfast at CRT or somewhere else. Anybody have any suggestions. I think dd will be most interested in meeting Cinderella, Aurora (she likes the pink princess), Ariel, Snow White, and Belle. Although I suppose all that could change in the next year. :confused3

Can I put my 2 cents in even if I haven't gone on this years trip yet :-)

We will be going August 19th - 29th next year. :cool1: Location of stay undetermined at this time.

That sounds like our 1st day/ night on our 2006 trip, except we went to MK after we checked in to have lunch, ride a few rides and catch the 3:00 parade and soak in some Disney magic. THEN we had drinks at the Tamu lounge (even DD4 had a special drink) with the GREATEST cocktail waitresses ever, and went to dinner at Ohana. We watched the electrical water pageant from the beach by the pool and saw some of Wishes there too. I will say that we were very very tired that evening, and that DD4 probably would have enjoyed eating at Ohana more if she hadn't been so tired. But the hanging out on the beach part after dinner was PERFECT.

We love the Polynesian!:cheer2:

I just booked SSR for April 20-27, 2008!! I can't wait!! Of course, I won't have to wait for too long because DH and I are going for a weekend getaway in September, but I'm excited about going back with the boys too!!

POP April 29th - May 7th, 2008. May add a couple of days. Cannot wait til packages come out. Do they ever have Free Dining in April or May? Seems like it always starts in August.

I am sooooo jealous!!! 18 days!

I know you are coming a very long way, but that must be very exciting for you to have such a lengthy stay.

We just returned on 5/25 and I immediately started planning our trip for next May! I am taking my DD and her 2 DD with me and my 9 y/o DS next May. I have been planning ADR's

Wolfgang Pucks Cafe ( 1st visit)
Le Cellier (no open Adrs this year, will book early for 2008)
Coral Reef (1st visit)
Cape May Cafe ( favorite)
1900 Park Fare ( 1st visit)
Capn Jacks ( haven't beeen here in years, dd wants lobster)

I am planning for the 3rd week in May or as soon as dd graduates from college. We will be staying at POR this time, was at CBR this May. I will need to have a room for 5 this time. I thought of renting points for a DVC but with 5 we would need a 2 bedroom and can't really afford that this year( have 2 daughters in college!)

My DD says I am " disney obsessed"! I guess I am, so glad I have you guys on the Dis to join me in my obsession!:thumbsup2

My daughter and her family asked me to go with them to WDW!!!! I have never been there but have always wanted to go!!! It'll be so much fun with my grandkids!!! Can anyone give me any information for a first timer?

You will have so much fun! I would suggest going on Ebay and buying some pins for trading for the kids. I did this for my son who is 9 and he really had fun with trding with the CM. He also traded with 2 other boys on a bus while going from resort to park. It is pettry inexpensive if you buy them in a lot, I gave about $30.00 for each lot and ended up buying 3 lots with a total of about 28 pins. It doesn't really matter which pins you buy as long as they are Disney pins ( make sure seller has good feedback) because they won't keep them long anyway! This was a 1st for us and I am doing it again with my grandaughters next May.

Also, I didn't realize how much he would get into character greetings and collecting autographs! We bought autograph books the first thing on day 1. A hint, take a pen from home! We bought 2 of the cute disney pens with the mouse ears on top and noth of them leaked all over my baggalini and my son got ink all over his shirt!

My biggest tip is to wear comfortable shoes! I have never had blisters until this year. I took 2 pairs of croc flip flops and had the biggest blisters on both feet! I ended up buying a pair of shoes on the way home at Dillards because I could barely walk! I bought a pair of Pr!vo sandals by Clarks and they were worth every penny of the $70 I paid for them! They are going with me next year along with a pair of broke in tennis shoes.
I know everyone loves the crocs and I will too for ordinary walking but when doing the marathon of Disney I will go for comfort!

The new Animal Kingdom Villas will have one type of room that will sleep 5 people. You could check it out.

We just added on at the AKV and I cannot wait to stay there. We have our 2008 trip planned so we will have to wait until our next trip to stay there.

I am hoping they have the new pool and new buildings open when we are able to go. :thumbsup2

I just booked the CR Atrium Club room-only from Jan 7-Jan 12th to make sure that I didn't lose that room type. Now just waiting for my ADR window to open up and the packages to become available so I can switch my room-only reservation.

I am *so pleased* to see your feedback on the pr!vos! I got a pair on clearance at Marshall's a couple of weeks ago for something like 15 or maybe 20 bucks. They felt so good for the try on I thought they'd be a good Disney shoe. I hope they work as well for me as they do for you cause the crocs just don't do it for me.

Great to hear you got such a deal, I will be at Marshalls next week and I hope they have some in my size! They aren't as "cute" as alot of my flip flops and sandals( I kind of love summer shoes!) but ohhhh they are so comfortable!
