We are a ‘longer stay family’. Very very unlikely we will use multi pass for any days. We have plenty of time to do the things we want to do. Plus, we go at least once a year.I mean, yeah, with free fast pass, people with long trips booked primo rides at their perfect times every day so they did have an advantage. But does everyone really think that people with long trips will be buying this for everyday of their trip now? A family of four would be paying an extra $1500+.
We’re going on a 12 day trip in August. We plan to buy Genie on 1, maybe 2 days. Most people I know only buy it for one of their MK days.
Yeah. I really don’t think people with shorter trips need to worry about those with long trips getting all the rides. We are a ‘longer stay family’. Very very unlikely we will use multi pass for any days. We have plenty of time to do the things we want to do. Plus, we go at least once a year.
For a family going on a once in a lifetime trip and only have 3 or 4 park days, I am not sure multi pass gets you on all the top rides, given the tiers. For me, single pass is the top tier. Every other ride shd be available in multi pass. Also, the removal of character meets from multi pass takes value away.
We will see how it plays out but multi pass has less value than G+, unless you highly value pre-planning above all else.
Oh yes it does. A) he is allowed to be concerned with whatever he wants to be. B) This still impacts any trip he might take, or his choices of what trips to take. Then he shouldn't be mad, as it doesn't concern him.
What other info are you waiting on? If it's pricing:I hope they release info soon for those of us going right after this is supposed to start
I want to know if I can book mine 7 days out or if they are starting everything on July 24. We will be there July 27-30.What other info are you waiting on? If it's pricing:
Beginning July 24, 2024, you’ll be able to view prices in the My Disney Experience app.

Nope. You will only have a 3 day head start since you are starting your stay on the 27th, But who knows how the 24th will play out since it starts that day for everyone. I do wish they rolled out with the 7 day advance bookings and not everyone starts on the same day. People who go to the parks on the 24th and are staying on site have no perk. If anything they are at a disadvantage because the site will be overloaded with people who are booking within 7 days out as well. We wont be able to book our LLs and use them that day due if the site cannot handle the influx of bookings.I want to know if I can book mine 7 days out or if they are starting everything on July 24. See, I don’t think people are going to be sleeping in with this new Multipass or they’re wasting their money. The only way this new system makes sense financially is if you’re getting in the park at rope drop and trying to burn through your 1st 3 LL’s as fast as possible. Otherwise, you’re spending $30/person for 1 decent LL and 2 turds.I agree with this and we are in this mindset. I hate being up at 7 am to book everything at once. It gives me anxiety so we usually end up not buying it. Knowing we can book ahead, we are much more likely to buy it

Not sure Haunted Mansion, Pirates, and Tower of Terror qualify as “turds”.See, I don’t think people are going to be sleeping in with this new Multipass or they’re wasting their money. I've never even had a 6 day trip and I was able to get tier 1 rides every day with the old fp+. Our trips are always 5 days, 4 of them park days, and I was always able to get FOP, SDD, Mine train etc. So I'm not sure what you mean by having zero chance if your trips aren't longer than 7 days....Aaand we’re back to people with 10-14 day trips getting all of the tier 1 rides, making it useless for people with 7 day or shorter trips. It was one thing when it was free fastpass+, but why would anyone with a shorter trip pay that much for something that gives them pretty much zero chance at lightning lanes on any tier 1 rides? Maybe I’m missing something, but this seems to have all of the problems of fastpass+ with none of the positives. Not free, no mention of re-rides, the wording even makes it unclear if you can get more than a 4th LL:
- Once you’re in the park and you enjoy your first multi pass experience, you may be able to make an additional selection (subject to availability).
Ooh, we MAY be able to make AN additional selection. At least they say they will let you see what rides and times you can get before you buy, so I guess the good news is you don’t have to pay to be disappointed. You get to be disappointed for free.
Well, I have a 5-day on property trip so I'll be allowed to book 7 days in advance but won't have a solid chance due to visitors with 10-14 day trips. So for MK, I highly doubt there will be morning time slots available for Tiana's so I'll make do with whatever Tier 1 is available in the AM. Again, for the tier 2 attractions, obviously the morning slots for Pirates and Haunted Mansion will be gone (everyone will be going for them). So either I'll be left with evening time slots (bad move strategically) or will have to make do with Space Ranger Spin, Dumbo, etc ... Stuff that you would never pick for Genie+ in the AM. They would be the easy extras that you booked at the end of your G+ day.Not sure Haunted Mansion, Pirates, and Tower of Terror qualify as “turds”.
I also hope Space Mountain, Jungle Cruise, and Big Thunder will have availability after the first wave, as they do now.
DHS is definitely the toughest park for me as I really Like all of the Tier 1 rides. But Rope drop plus multipass at least gets you 2.
I guess one man's turd is another's favorite rideWell, I have a 5-day on property trip so I'll be allowed to book 7 days in advance but won't have a solid chance due to visitors with 10-14 day trips. For Hollywood Studios, again, there is no way Slinky will have morning time slots. So I guess i'll try for Runaway Railway. My kids don't ride Tower of Terror (nor do I think there will be AM time slots available) so my tier 2 picks will be Star Tours and Toy Story Mania. I'm sorry, I would define those as turds when I really just want to book Lightening Lanes for Slinky and Millennium Falcon.
I agree. The fact that you'll now be able to see what your first three LL reservations are before deciding whether to buy or not is a definite benefit. Admittedly, you won't know what else you'll be able to get later, but I wouldn't be too upset if I was able to book Slinky, Toy Story Mania and the Tower of Terror, even if I didn't get any other "good" rides, especially if I went at a busy time. Just booking those three could save me an hour or two waiting in line. On the other hand, if I could only pre-book Millennium Falcon, Alien Swirling Saucers and Star Tours, I might decide against buying it.Just a thought, but one of the reasons I have been reluctant to purchas Genie+ was the unknown utility. I understand that most likely I will get to book a few if not several rides as I moved through the day, but availability and timing might vary. I was much more apt to purchase an ILL because it was a known quantity. This will provide more known quantities, which I do like better, though I understand that may cause more competition for the best rides and times. I guess I would rather fight with it before I leave than when I am in the park.
And yes, I understand that "fight with it" may not really be an apt term for everybody and it was likley easy and that if I spent more than 30 seconds looking at Genie+ in an entire park day that I was doing it wrong and don't know how to use my phone or do anything and may as well have just stayed home watching reruns of Gunsmoke and eating my strained vegetables.![]()
