Plan Ahead with Lightning Lane Entry at Walt Disney World Starting July 24

1 - it appears they are separate reservations and will be pre-booked separately, like ADRs. But I think that needs to be confirmed. Some are saying otherwise. 2- Yes, after each use, you can book any tier, any park, if available with park hopper. 3- We won't know until 7/24, and then we'll know the cost several weeks out.
When it was fast pass+ a split stay did not require two separate bookings it was all done at once unlike adr. I’m hoping it’s like that again

It also says it requires valid admission and if you’re going on any day that isn’t good to go (most of them aren’t GTG so those are really an exception to the rule) as an AP holder you do not have valid admission for the whole day without a park reservation.
Valid Admission Required
Before you purchase a Lightning Lane pass, you must have valid theme park admission; you may also need a theme park reservation, depending on the type of admission and the date of your visit.”

Great of Disney to make this so clear 🙄
Technically, AP holders don't actually need a park reservation on non-GTG days either. We can enter any park after 2PM, except MK on Sat/Sun. Wow, the rules and fine print are tough to keep up with!

Do we know how much this is going to cost yet? At lease an estimated price would be great. I can’t wait for this to start so I can see how it works. My trip is 11/30, so I have time to plan and decide if this will be worth the added cost.

We don't know but we fully expect it to debut at the same price(s) as the current Genie+ offering. That would make MK $29 per day for LLMP, Epcot $18, HS $22, and AK at $16. The pricing will adjust by Disney based on attendance periods. For example Christmas - New Years was $39 last year and Spring Break / Easter was also $39 for MK.

My day to pick is Wednesday, probably going to crash their site, but we will see. I’m having my son and DIL to do it for the 7 days. They are more tech savvy than me or DH, plus they do all the super fast rides and know exactly what they want to ride.

My question is, at 7AM, when you sign in, do you have to update the app before that time?

Like Genie+, it will vary day-by-day based on seasonal demand. So you'll only know the prices once you can look up your specific dates.

Andre
And that assumes they won't change the price between when someone else books it and you do.

The Disneyworld website says: "Lightning Lane passes are nonrefundable and nontransferable. Lightning Lane passes, attractions experiences may vary by date, are subject to change or closure, are limited in availability and are not guaranteed, and may not be available at all on the date of visit or at the time you make a selection. Price, terms and entitlements are subject to restrictions, and change or cancellation without notice." (My bolding.)

I am not saying they will change prices, but they can if they want to. I very much doubt they would change prices on day-of, but changing prices between when someone else buys it two weeks before arrival and you can book it three days before arrival is very feasible.

EDIT: Removed word "arrival." I'm talking about 14 vs. 3 days before the theme park days you are buying the LLMP/LLSPs for, not the number of days before you arrive for your vacation. (It can actually be more than 14 days. It can be 7 days before a 14-day stay.)

You apparently have to have the latest version of the app. It was just updated in the past few days, so I imagine that is the version you will need (unless they notice a glitch in that version and update it again). If the version on your son and DIL's phones is older than that, they should update it before Wednesday morning.

MK was $27 today.

Update now. Or at least sometime before 7 am on the 24th.

WDW appears to be pricing G+ a little on the high side right now- given the crowd levels. I fully expect they want to boost sales, so I'd expect comparable, but not lower prices in a few days when the new system starts.

For the last week or so, G+ prices have been slightly variable. Today is a pretty slow day in the parks- as most Sundays this summer have been, yet the MK price is $27. Others are: $18/24/17. Under the new system, everyone will be able to hop, currently the hopping G+ is the same as the MK price, with everyone able to hop, I expect the new system to be priced closer to $27 for all 4 parks.

Then the price will soon adjust upwards if people are buying it, or slightly lower if they are not buying it. 😜

Today the prices are $27, $19, $24, and $17.

Not everyone wants or needs a Park Hopper. Also we have never needed Genie+ in AK or Epcot. Only a couple of iLL (now LLSP) when we missed a VQ.

Dave
That's true, but WDW will still sell it as an improvement to G+, just like the DDP is priced to include alcohol even for teens and adults who don't want alcohol. Since getting adult beverages is an option for some adults, it is priced to include it.

This is definitely going to be costly. Then for the popular rides, you have to pay even more for the single LL! Insane! I know resort guests have the perk to book 7 days prior to arrival, however, they should also be a perk for the cost and staying on property! I can see us not doing the LLMP and just getting a LLSP for certain attractions! I’ll wait to decide once the prices are more official, but as of now I think it will be a big NO for us. It will probably be about an extra $300-$400 for the 4 of us. 😳
