Plan Ahead with Lightning Lane Entry at Walt Disney World Starting July 24

Late reply, sorry, been in parks.

This might confuse you more (IDK if I’m explaining this good, but here goes.)

The system gave me our 3 picks but started earlier than we wanted & not in the order I really wanted. System wouldn’t let me rearrange because there wasn’t enough time available between them. But once I moved one time totally out of the way (to 3pm) there was enough room to start rearranging start times, etc.

I wanted our selections in a different order & to start at a different time from what was given

So I took one time slot (Tiana’s) selection and put it in for around 3pm.

Then went back & had some wiggle room for our other 2 selection time slots.

Once I had those were I wanted them the system let me place the selection I put at 3pm back into an earlier slot. I made sure selection 1 & 3 had atleast 1hour between them for the system to let me place the 3pm selection back in

Sounds more complicated than it really was..basically I knew where in the park I wanted us to start & knew what we wanted to try to book next after each ride approx what time we’d be in the areas for our other selections.

Here’s an EXAMPLE (MK time slots were farther apart but I did similar for each park day and the others were 55 - 1 hour apart)

I wanted and was able to get
  1. Dumbo @ 10:40
  2. Tiana’s @ 11:50
  3. Haunted Mansion @ 1:00

The system gave me Tiana 1st thing in morning but I didn’t want it then, I wanted to start in fantasyland. Do dumbo then goofy train, then go to Tiana and then Big Thunder. So I threw Tiana out to 3pm and rearranged other times. After riding Dumbo got a LL for Big Thunder for around the time of Tiana’s…etc & so on

I did have a plan before I even tried to book our LL & I was always at the end of our time slots getting onto the rides, but it worked out great.

But again this is a slow period, who knows what the holidays will look like.

Hope this helps…and wasn’t too confusing.
Thank you SO much and thank you for taking the time to respond while you are away. I appreciate it. Yes, now I understand exactly what you were saying and I also watched Molly yesterday and she explained about modifying.
I don’t think so, no. I’ve read on here that it’s been harder to rearrange everything after you’ve paid & tried to go back in.
That’s why I did it before even paying. And the 5 minutes the system gives was enough time for me to do everything. But I did go into it with a plan already written down, lol

I can’t see trying to figure out our day as I was booking the LLs, IDT i would have had enough time to do it that way.
Thank you very much. After watching Molly, I think I will try to get as close to what I want and then fiddle faddle.
We were very successful doing this a couple weeks ago. Prebooked Remy, Spaceship Earth and then Pixar film throwaway at 9am. RD Soarin then was able to get Frozen after tapping in without even refreshing. It made for a much more chill morning. Tbh I think this is how I’m going to handle rope dropping from the front from now on, at least until Test Track comes back. Frozen is really easy to get in that first hour, at least for now.
Hi. My window opens next week for our 10 day stay and I have a question regarding your thread as well as those that are doing the same thing. Are you using Pixar as a throwaway since you booked Remy, which I'm guessing is a Tier 1 and then you want Frozen, which is also Tier 1 so you use Pixar as a throwawy to tap in and book the second Tier 1?
Thank you!

Yes...it can be anything. Just book something for opening, scan in and try for another tier 1.

Hi.
My trip begins on Thursday, October 17 and staying at BWVs so does that mean on Wednesday, October 9 at 7:00 am
I can begin booking my 10 day LL and ILLs?

Leaving our dhs at home and going with my bff.

For MK, which opens at 7:30 am, which will cost $63 each, I want to start with this:

Tiana
Haunted
Pirates

ILL:
7DMT
Tron

In watching Molly, it looks like I can book everything together at once. Is this correct?

If above isn't correct, what order do I start first? Tiana or the ILLs.

Thank you all so much!

Hey everyone!

I'm sure this has been answered, but does the option to purchase LLs not pop up in MDE until the day you can book? I'm trying to prepare for tomorrow morning, but it's not there yet.

Thanks

Seven days (one week) before your Thursday, October 17 check-in day is Thursday October 10. At 7:00 AM Eastern time on that day, you can buy LLMPs and LLSPs for every day of your 10-day trip. You have to purchase each day separately, but can buy your LLMP and LLSPs (up to two LLSPs) for each day in the same transaction. So, it is possible to buy LLMP for MK (and book Tiana, Haunted and Pirates) and buy LLSPs for 7DMT and Tron in the same transaction. Whether that is the best way to do it, I will leave to others to advise you. It may well depend on which day(s) are your MK day(s). A non-party day near the beginning of your trip may be harder to get the times you want than a party day near the end of your trip, for example. I see you've already picked up some strategy hints earlier on this page.

I don't believe you can get past the screen where you select who you are buying for without someone being eligible. You cannot do a complete "dry run." You should be able to see the calendar screen and the screen with the prices before getting to the screen where you select who you are buying for.

Edit: If you can't see a box on your MDE home page that refers to Lightning Lane Multi Pass/Single Pass with a "purchase" button, I'm guessing you haven't updated your MDE app in months. Tapping on that "purchase" button is one of the ways to get to the Lightning Lane calendar screen.

My 7-Day booking window for the LLMP opened today. I was able to get good selections except for my last day of our trip, which Monday, October 14. We are going to MK and all the time slots for every attraction is after 2:00 pm. Even the LLSP are after 2:00. Since we are flying out in the afternoon, these times do not work. Does anyone know why the timeframes are all after 2:00?

Are you an annual passholder? Do you have a park reservation for that day? For days that APs need park reservations to enter the park before 2:00, you can't book LLs before 2:00 without a park reservation.

Well Monday the 14th is a Holiday. Columbus Day / Indigenous Peoples' Day and it is a very busy day at the MK but your situation looks odd with the 2PM issue.

Yep what @Tom_E_D said above did you miss a park reservation for the MK on Monday, Oct 14th if you have APs or Undated tickets that you are using for this visit? Must be a reason just need to figure out what it is...

Yes, I am an AP holder. I have a resort reservation and park reservation for that day.

Yes, I am an AP, have a resort reservation and a park reservation that day. The only thing I can think that may be causing it is that I have a DVC reservation for Thursday - Sunday and a cash reservation for Sunday - Monday. But my park reservation is in place. This is my first time using the new Multipass LL so I am not sure why I have the 2:00 start time for reservations on this one day.

Yes, you got it. Prebooked selections were Pixar at exactly 9, then Remy, then Spaceship Earth.

The split stay may be the culprit. Try switching Monday’s LL on Sunday, which is seven days from that second checkin date. Although I’d think in that case, it wouldn’t let you make LL for Monday at all. Very odd.

Can anyone confirm that split stays are not causing issues for booking LL at the 7 day mark? Well I want to make sure our split stay reservation isn’t going to cause any issues for us.

We just booked LLs forba split stay no issues. In our party we have 1 AP and the other tix are Salute tix so we had to have reservations for all, but were able to book all days.

Oh my! I didnt think to put Picar first 🤦🏻‍♀️. Thank you SO much!
I will make a note to do so with my selections

That would not cause this behavior you are having with your last day.

The 2 PM start time for your LLMP and/or LLSP is a behavior that would happen if your Park reservation was not in place within the system. @Tom_E_D mentioned the AP ticket and Park reservations. Could you verify your AP Park reservations were all made at the same time.and from the resort pool?

After you confirm your Park reservation why not give Disney a call about how MDE is handling your situation You can chat with a CM right from within MDE. I would call them 7 AM - 11 PM daily at 407-934-7639 for MDE support.

Does someone else in your party not have a reservation for that day? That is the only thing that would cause all the times to be after 2pm.

Do you have dining reservations maybe that are tying up your day earlier? The system is buggy around this sort of thing.
