Plan Ahead with Lightning Lane Entry at Walt Disney World Starting July 24

Again, a few more questions, sorry everyone:

1. I am checking in on Feb 4th at AK villa, then we will move the next morning Feb 5th to BWV for the week. How does the MPLL and SPLL selection will work with split stays like that? Will I be able to book all the days on Feb 4th?

2. I am going in Feb 2025, "low to moderate crowds". just wondering if people have had any issues getting what they want 7 days prior at 7 am? Do I need to worry about making the selection based on popularity (like ADR)? Don't tell me this is like ADR where you have to come up with a booking strategy and pray everything goes well and the system does not glitch

3. I understand I can purchase LL for rides also 7 days in advance. however, if my plans change and I will not visit that park on the original date, can I cancel the LL and get a refund?

Today was my booking date as well. We only planned to book on our 2/3rd park day so 9 and 10 days out. Got what we wanted for MK and HS but terrible times I was able to modify slightly earlier but still later than I wanted. So I agree it was disappointing. Not sure how offsite guests get anything. I also had the "card did not work error" I hit retry 3 times and then I saw an email pop up thanks for my purchase but the app totally froze both times and I had to force close it to get it to work.
Yes, the app froze two or three times for me as well. Very glitchy this morning.

1. I have a split stay this month and was able to book across both stays.

2. You need a strategy. I had difficulty this booking for 7 days out. My card was declined three times even though the charge actually went through the first time. The app froze a few times and I had to close the whole thing and reopen.

1. Allows split stays, you can book whole trip on first day

2. This is SO much more complicated and error prone than ADR booking. Find some how to blogs and back up here about 10 pages to get a feel for the reality you are facing. Availability isn’t great you need to be fast and organized and IT not glitching and even then it might be mediocre results.

3. These purchases are all non-refundable. You can ask Disney for an exception but you should plan on them being non-refundable as that is what the terms and conditions say.

For our HS day the earliest I could get ToT was 12:50....which is way too late to start my 1st LL. Are there any trends on new times opening from now till I get there?

This worries me for availability when the busy season comes. It’s very reminiscent of early Genie days. I remember at one point Disney had to caveat that Genie was basically just for 3 or 4 rides. Maybe they are waiting to unveil Disney Multipass Premier, ride all the top rides at selected park for the low low fee of 120pp.
This is slowish season and first booking for Tiana is 10 days out/ 12 for a good time, SDD 4 days/12 days for a good time. If they don’t find some availability the popular stuff will be impossible to book- and it will undoubtedly cost an arm and leg.

Oct is popular, we should get our first feeling for busy booking in late Sept.

Why not select something else for your first LL?
I thought that...but what other tier 2 am i going to choose? Toy story mania was booked out till 3:20(i booked this)...Are people just booking something dumb like star tours(9:05am) and then booking Tier 1's?

I guess i just dont understand why someone would want to buy the multipass for just 3 hours. Last time i had just a party ticket i was able to get some rides in before the party with no LL. it sounds like , based on so far reports , that if you go the biggies around 6 or around midnight , its not too bad, and also, if you think your going to churn over LLs, how many are actually going to be just sitting there waiting for you to claim in that short window whuch arent rides with more minimal waits anyway? What am i missing? Cause i will have LLMP from earlier in the day, and while i figure we’ll have straggler LLs that we grab earlier in the day before we break, i dont think they’ll be anything major. The only thing i can see is the availability to book 3 better ones ahead of time at those times? But, it was pretty easy at party entry to ride the tier 2s anyway and you cant modify till you tap into your first ride anyway- which means you’d have to have Tiana’s booked right at 4, and then i guess you could probably have SM availability….
Yeah I mean. This just sounds like a profound waste of money to me.

Not for nothing but if I had a regular park ticket that I didn't mind burning and I wanted to do rides that badly before the party I would not wait until 4pm when the party ticket holders start showing up and bumping up wait times, I'd just go earlier in the morning when the parks are dead and do what I wanted before chilling at the resort before the party that night. That's what I did last year (albeit on my AP) and there was no need for LLs. Mine Train was a posted 5 minute wait and an actual near walk on at like 10:30am that day.

this all seems so annoying after i had G+ down to a science. i'm also more of a plan on the fly person so not at all interested in having to nail down plans so far in advance. a couple questions for anyone who has used the new system during slow/hot season:

1. does it even make sense to book LLMP if we plan to rope drop, leave for the afternoon and come back (or hop) in the evening? especially in late august given probable low crowds and unpredictable weather.

2. are we able to see what's available for LLMP before paying?

we are AP holders, have been to the parks a bunch this year, so we're more likely to take what comes - no real must-dos except tiana.

Yes, this is exactly what I would do!

We really need to stop telling people how great party mornings are or word could get out :rotfl2:

Yes since you have to enter a park and tap into any LL or let the LL expire before getting to look for day of Tier 1s. Tap into something dumb at 9:05am for the earliest chance at getting something good that day or at least let it expire and check at 10:05am. Either way better than waiting until afternoon!

Just letting something dumb (presumably a Tier 2) expire at 10:05 does not let you book a Tier 1 to replace it then. You still have to actually tap into something to remove tier and park restrictions.

True! But I'm actually not worried about it because there are way more people who don't believe that, even when you show them facts, and also people who just legitimately want to be able to see fireworks etc. But the clueless outnumber us by a significant margin!

I was very concerned about this myself, since we are rope drop/midday break/go back or hop people as well, but we are still planning on purchasing LLMP for at least one park day next month. Specifically the day we planned to rope drop MK on a party day and then hop into HS in the late afternoon/evening after our long resort break. Originally I had planned to stack LLs for the evening, but LLMP got rid of that. The thing is, this is still a slow time of year and I've been checking the app constantly during the hours we would need to be modifying initial prebooked selections into HS LLs. I have seen a ton of tier 1 availability outside of Slinky Dog, but I've also seen Slinky Dog come back numerous times. I really think midday breaks will be fine with this system, at least for now. We were in the old FP+ era.

Tbh the only people I see really not benefitting in this system at all are people who were just stacking for pm visits without going anywhere in the morning. We did that a few times on our last trip and I will definitely miss it.

Ugg! Just when you think you have the dang rules down! I thought you just had to have checked into the park. So annoying... people who don't know the ins and outs of this system are gonna get left in the dust.

Thanks. I just canceled the ToT at 1pm(we will rope drop that way anyways) and added a 9:20am star tours.
