First off I am sorry if this is not the correct place to post and if need be please feel free to move to the correct thread.

Does anyone know of a nice 1/2 way point between Orlando and Indianapolis? We will be drving down through SC since we will be visiting my in-laws in SC on our way. However on the way back we have no idea where a nice place would be to stop over night. I was told it would be about a 15 hour drive so I do not think we will try to make it all in one day. Any ideas?
Thanks!

I am in Louisville, KY so just a few hours south of Indy. Our stopping place is Valdosta, GA. Tons of nice hotels and plenty of places to eat all just off the expressway. But it is only about 4-5 hours outside of Orlando so not a great place to stop on the way back. How about something in the Nashville, TN area?

Hello... It looks like we will be at WL during the same time.

We will be leaving from Southcentral IN.

My main concern going and coming is getting through Nashville, TN and Atlanta, GA during off times. You certainly don't want to hit those anywhere near RUSH HOUR. Been there done that NEVER again

Going down I am leaving at Noon. I want to get past Atlanta.

Coming back We are leaving in afternoon. Same thing then too.

Hope this helps!!

If you stop in TN you will have a 6 hour drive ahead of you. Try someone there. Also without any stops its a 18 hour drive easy.

Thanks for the replies.
HoosierMan: thats pretty cool that we will be at the WL the same time and we will be leaving the same day. We have to take the last day off of our trip so we'll be leaving the 11th instead of the 12th.
Jasminesmommy: Wow! 18 hours! :earseek: goodness. We had been told 15 hours. I guess after all that whats another 3. It is only 16 for us to go down to SC and visit with family and then go on down to Disney. Maybe we will have to rethink our plans.
Kyirish25: Thanks for the info! I do think we would like go a bit more than that before stopping. Especially if it is going to be an 18 hour drive. :earseek:
Thanks Again!

I have driven several times there. Most recently in 2002 with two small children. It only took us 16 hours including stops.

we live north of Indy and usually stay around knoxville on our drive home. thats driving all day and stopping early in the evening and then leaving the next morning and getting home late afternoon.

we drive back to chitown.. leave the parks about 6 pm and stay just south of Macon. Then make it home about midnight the next night.
