We leave on Wednesday, and my niece is sick with a fever!! While she isn't coming with us, my DS9 catches EVERYTHING...We live in a two family home, they live downstairs. I am HOPING my DS9 and DS1 don't catch it!!! Please send me some pixie dust (and some for my niece, too!!) :grouphug:

Pixie Dust that everyone stays well and that your Niece feels better soon! :wizard:

Sending pixie dust so that your kids don't get sick. However, just in case bring the medicine cabinet with you. It is better to have the medicines with you than not. Let us know after how your vacation went. :sunny:

My children have gone with broken arms, stitches, on crutches & with Chicken Pox... the Pox were the worst...my youngest came down with them the night before we were to leave... we had tickets for MNSSHP, couldn't get refunds on them nor the hotel. Dr said to keep her covered in light clothing & allow her to go to parks as long as she wasn't feeling sick. The first day/night up there was terrible, but the rest of the trip turned out to be not that bad.... she just couldn't go swiming.. and lucky for us it was October so we didn't have to worry about her being hot & sweaty covered up. Considering that the most contagious time for pox is just prior to break out...we really didn't put any other guests at risk.... Hope yours are healthy for the trip....just bring lots of cold medicine ..... and enjoy your trip :hourglass

Keep the kids totally away from poor niece--
Have you sprayed all the door knobs with Lysol--my DH is a germaphobic (seriously) and he swears by it. Won't touch any doorknob unless its at home--uses his shirt sleeve.
Keep in mind that they are still contagious about 24 hours after the fever breaks.
And pump your kids full of water and orange juice...my sis the nurse swears that water makes the immune system kick into overdrive to fend off illness.

I'm sure everything will be fine.

We were just talking about this--we were originally supposed to leave last Thu but decided to go a little later in the spring so we could take more time. Anyway--I was a little sad we weren't on the plane THu am--it was rainy and cold here--when DD complained of an ear ache....an ear infection that hit its peak right about the time we were supposed to be taking off. Can you imagine flying with a little one with an ear infection?

Anyway--pixie dust your way! :wizard:

:wizard: I'll gladly throw some pixie dust your way. I needed some last week as I was trying to get over a killer flu/cold. Thanks to dozens of other Diser's I'm feeling pretty good with 4 days to go.

Well, my niece still has a fever, and now I found out that the mom one of the children I watch at my home is sick with a throw-up bug!!!! :( Her son is here with me now!! I HOPE my family makes it a virus free trip- we leave tomorrow!! SO far, no sickness with DS9, DS1, DH or myself!!! Send MORE pixie dust!!

Hope your neice feels better soon.

I pray that you and your family do not get sick.
Have fun on your DISNEY WORLD TRIP.

We leave in a week. DD8 has been sick on and off for 2 mos. I'm taking her for blood word tomorrow to make sure she doesn't have mono or something. DD5 spiked a 102 temp yesterday, and I have no voice right now. I think I've got all my last minute stuff done for the trip, so now we just have to hope for good health!

think positive & take your cold medications with you in the event you may need them. :wizard: may pixie dust be spread over all of you...(as well as everyone else around you :wizard: )

A couple of weeks ago, DD had the fever bug.. It lasted 48 hours... No biggie... I would be concerned about the throw up ( and the other) bug! It hit all 3 of us with in 16 hours last Thursday and I just ate my first real meal today that wasn't the brat diet... It is vicious!!! I am sending mega pixie dust your way! :wizard: :wizard: :wizard:

Here comes more pixie dust!

Keep in mind that most times kids don't get the flu from their moms....its the other way around. Cause grown ups have the good sense to try and contain the virus with hand washing, no kissing, that sort of thing. Not the most considerate thing for her to do, given that you are leaving tomorrow for a long awaited and expensive vacation.....Just keep your kids away from the little one.

My kids got the tummy flu also this year--its been a terrible year for this--but they were only terribly miserable for an afternoon and evening, and by the next morning they were on the mend. Stomach viruses usually are pretty short lived---and maybe the mom just ate something bad or has a nervous stomach or something.

Anyway--once you get to Florida with the fresh air and sunshine, everybody will be ok.

Sending pixie dust your way, & hope that everyone's healthy for the trip! :wizard:

Gotta love flu season. 10 days till I go and I am carrying my Lysol and Clorox wipes every where I go. But lets face it, could a cold beat Disney? I think not! :rotfl:
