Pirates Ship Parts Game- Help!!

I've tried on level three so many times now!
Adleast twenty! I am totally lost, anyone have any tips for me?
I so want a ship for my room, but how is a ship a ship without a middle and the piece you get when you complete all levels?
Anyone have any tips for me?
Don't know what I am doing wrong. I allways do bad after I hit the skull things, then I bounce back and it takes forever for me to get started again. Then I run into an octopuss...
Can I get some help please?

If I go slow intill the octopus guy comes, he appears right in front of me and I die..
