One of my sons has sensory issues, he doesn't mind getting a little wet but doesn't want to be soaked! We rode this a few years back and you didn't get wet, I've was reading that now you will, is this true???

It's hit or miss, but it is possible, especially in the front row. Also note that there can be a lot of standing water in the boat (on the floor) and seats are wetter than they used to be. This all happened when they changed the boats out. Request the back row and you should be okay.

We were there from January 26 to February 4th this year and rode POTC several times, in various different seats on the boat. We did not get wet once, never noticed any standing water on the floor or the seats. I was also looking for it as I heard all the chatter about it.

It probably has a lot to do with how the weight is distributed. We were in the first row but significantly lighter than the rows behind us so we didn't get wet. I imagine if we had switched places they would have gotten wet.

We were never front row, but we rode several times in Feb without getting wet. The boats weren't wet either. We went pretty early in the morning, so maybe head there first and don't sit front row?

I was there first week of December. Seated in the front row...got pretty wet...wasn't expecting that at all!
Never got wet on all my rides on PoC in the past.
The CM did mention it when we got into the boat That the front row has been getting wet since the refurb.

Here now, they added a you might get wet sign at the entrance. Rode twice, both times in the middle and dry. Boats were dry. Last night, I had an angle and the light hit the wave just right to say yes, you could get wet especially on a boat with all heavier riders.

They do have a pattern to loading now so I think the learned how to distribute the weight to minimize it.

We rode it in early February, mid morning. I told CM we didn't want to get wet. She put us in the last row. The boat seat and floor were dry when we got in. Didn't get wet at all on the ride. Don't know if people in the front row(s) did.

Slight chance you will in the front row. It was a good chance last year, but it seems after it went through its refurb that it kept a lot of that water out the boat. Aside from the small chance in the front row, you're basically guaranteed not to get wet in any other rows. Rode it last week..didn't get wet and there was no water in the boat

We went in early January this year, got the front row and got pretty wet. I guess we should have listened to the posts here that were warning us :-)

Rode it twice over the last week.

Front row both times.

First time it was a less loaded boat ... maybe a few drops.
Second time, full boat ... soaked.

Same as above. Here now and have rode it twice once back row once middle and both times stayed dry.

We were in the October group that was listing completely to one side and got totally soaked with water. We had to take off our shoes to pour water out of them and my purse was a mess. I even complained and had a phone chat with WDW Guest Services. It was that bad.

But! We were there a few weeks ago and chose to ride when it was walk-on in the evenings. The boats were not completely loaded down and I think that made the biggest impact. There was no listing, no water in the boat or on the seats and only the tiniest splash at the bottom of the fall. It was really nice.

So my advice: Ride really early or really late. If the line is long and they're packing those boats, put your feet up on the drop and make sure your purse or backpack is in your lap.

Just request not to be in the front seat

Same here

We went in October after the refurb was finished. We sat in the second row and stepped into a couple of inches of water in our boat when we got on to begin with. Once the ride started, we listed heavily toward the left side of the boat. So much to the point of water entering from the sides at times. We all rode leaning to our right to try to help out with the listing. Every person got off the boat soaked to the bone. We had at least 4 inches of water in the bottom of our boat after the drop.

Water depth varies on the ride throughout the day. If you happen ride when the water is at it's deepest it will obviously be up higher up the side of the boat, resulting in more water splashing over the edge. My advice is to ask the CM if the water is at the high or low point of the cycle before entering.

First week of Feb. Rode several times. Also reporting no wet boats, no splashing or soaking at all.

Sounds like they've gotten this largely fixed.
