And Haunted Mansion makes me think of murder...Maybe we need to dismantle parts of that ride, too.
Very good point!

But the murder portayed in Haunted Mansion is not over your line? For me, at humans being led into slavery. That's my line.
So, will they also be re-theming....
The Mine Train?
Country Bear Jamboree?
Splash Mountain?
All of those attractions have characters that don't meet today's definition of political correctness either.
Disney must always prepare for the future guests, not always cater to the nostalgic guest. No person under the age of 25 is going to stop coming to WDW because of this change.
But the murder portrayed in Haunted Mansion is not over your line?
For now...Are the natives still in Jungle Cruise?
I have to agree with @Shanti
I've toured the Laura Plantation where the Brer Rabbit stories originated. They were written/told by an African-American slave on the plantation and originally recorded/written utilizing his vocabulary/dialect/vernacular.
If it is racist, he is being racist to his own people/family/friends.
This isn't about Haunted Mansion. It's not about Jungle Cruise. Can you explain why a scene that shows human beings being led into sexual slavery is something that should be applauded & kept for all time - without bringing up ANY other attraction, and focusing ONLY on the scene in question? But the murder portayed in Haunted Mansion is not over your line?

Shh! I know you already know the answer, but let the class give it a go.
Because it doesn't show that. I don't recall any sexual slavery in that scene at all. Did I miss something? This isn't about Haunted Mansion. It's not about Jungle Cruise. In a word: yes.Because it doesn't show that. I don't recall any sexual slavery in that scene at all. Did I miss something?
Please explain what I missed. Some nice ladies who had no other options were being given a chance at a life of adventure and excitement. That's how I see it.Yes Chuck. You missed something.![]()
Laura is fairly close to me.
I actually love SotS. I think it's a beautiful story.
