I think everyone should boycott the ride, then it can always be a walk on.

A serious question to anyone who supports changing this ride: do you also support dismantelling Small World, or do you support what is clearly racism and cultural appropriation by today's PC standards?
I honestly cannot believe a single person has every been offended by this scene. This is fixing a problem that doesn't exist.
When you see that, just ask the poster who GAVE the participation trophies. That usually shuts them up.Thank you. I hear enough crap about snowflakes and participation trophies on political sites. I really don't need to run into it on the Disboards.
Based on this, things they could do next (all for kicks and giggles, please join in):
Make changes to Splash. I'm continually surprised Brer Rabbit and company are even. Part of it given the "banning" of the movie
Country Bears---quite a bit of violence with "don't whup Buford" and I wonder if rednecks get offended
Haunted mansion--- infringing on others beliefs of the after life
7 dwarfs mine train---should we be calling them dwarfs?
I need you to seriously explain how It's Small World (a ride that is celebrating the "culture" of different countries, yet saying we are all still one, small world) is an example of cultural appropriation.
When we use words or phrases incorrectly, it starts to render them useless. Therefore when it's really called for, it becomes easily ignored.
Cultural Appropriation - the act of taking or using things from a culture that is not your own, especially without showing that you understand or respect this culture
Just do a quick google search and you'll see plenty of people who are offended by Small World. Who are you to judge that they're wrong?
Here's an idea: how about we stop trying to sanitize history? How about we stand up to the PC bullies and say "this is a historic ride. You may be offended by this today, but it was ok back then. If you want to be offended by history that's you're right, but you don't get to erase history."
These are the same nut jobs demanding that confederate monuments be torn down. And Disney is is appeasing them. I'm very much an anti-slavery, union kind of guy - but I am also anti-sanitizing history.
All that to say...you didn't (or couldn't) answer my question. And that's okay.![]()
Interesting that those who speak out against a portrayal of sexual slavery or who wish to pull down what were monuments to a self-proclaimed nation that enslaved an entire race of people are "bullies," in your opinion.Just do a quick google search and you'll see plenty of people who are offended by Small World. Who are you to judge that they're wrong?

No, I don't see any problem with "Song of the South" at all and think it's a real shame it's not in distribution.
when is this change going to happen??
What exactly do you think is wrong with the film "Song of the South"? I'm half African-American, grew up and live in the South, have a degree in history, and see this film as something beautiful. As I've mentioned before, Uncle Remus is portrayed as a wise hero, and the white parents are portrayed as rigid and misguided. The film ends in the spirit of biracial togetherness, with a black man lovingly holding a white boy's hand, and later white and black children are shown peaceably playing together. It shows the beauty and great dignity of African-American spiritual music and worship during the scene when the servants hold vigil when the little boy is hurt. There is absolutely no portrayal of any African-American character as malevolent or unintelligent in that film, or any other nasty rascist stereotype. So what exactly do you think is terrible about the film? You have GOT to be kidding.
There is a difference between respecting/understanding history and celebrating/flaunting it with statues and monuments that are disrespectful to citizens of the USA.
