Pirates league timing? What is realistic?

So I really want my kids to do the Pirates league for the halloween party in September. We will not be at MK in the morning but I am totally ok with buying tickets for the day so we can get in the park before 4. I don't think if we go at 4 that will be enough time and well actually I think I read 3 is the latest they take appointments or 3:30. I have read it can take a good amount of time and I'm thinking that being a party day it would be even busier. If we wanted to be done by 4 with pirates league to have time to ride something and grab a quick dinner before the dinner rush what time would be good to schedule pirates league. I will have two kids. Also is there a big selection of costume they could get there? Pirate ones of course? I don't want them to be too hot but I know they will want to wear something other than just a tee shirt with a pirate on it. Thanks!!!

I can't comment on the logistics around Halloween but I can tell you this - we had an appt on DD birthday at 11:30 - at 12 I asked when we might be taken (I thought maybe they had forgotten about us). We were 3rd in line to be called next. When I said to the lady - wow, our reservation was for 11:30 she said that this delay was 'nothing' - that they usually run 1 - 1.5 hours behind! :O I was shocked to hear that. So my opinion - make sure you have lots of time!

That's crazy. I wonder why they run so behind?

We were there in February for a 2:00pm appointment and they were running 45 minutes behind. We were told that was the norm, not an outlier.

So what do you do while you wait for the appt? Do they give you a pager so you can wander Adventureland? Or is there an interactive waiting area?

I'd like to know what you do as well while you wait. I realize that all places have waits at times, Doctor offices, hair appointments and when you're at Disney you're waiting a lot but considering you can make a reservation its a bit ridiculous that the normal is to wait up to 45 minutes. When time is rather precious at Disney and not good to wasted it looks like they need to not have as many people crammed in certain time frames. I think we will still do it because my kids will enjoy it but I'll make sure to make my appointment early enough.

We just sat and waited - it was very annoying because of the precious time at Disney. While we waited my DH and DS went on Pirates 3x! lol. The end result was worth it though - it made her bday.

Ok thanks. I can always send husband to get a snack or treat while we wait. That is annoying though but Im glad worth it. We are going into park later in day for party so ill just allow enough time for us to get it done by when we need to be done!
