Ahoy, OK so this is my first EVENT which means if this is a stooopid question please forgive in advance. Well frankly even if it is not a stoopid question I will eventually say something stoopid so .. uh Sorry... where was I ..

OH yeah.. what exactly will they be auctioning at the auction? AND what sort of available credit limit am I going to need on my Disney Visa. Do things go for low prices or are they on par with Sothebys?

The items are unknown at this point, but tend to be pictures, sculptures, figures, pins, and other of those type items. Likely some prototypes of some of the items that we could buy for the event. If this goes the way other Disney auctions go, be prepared to spend A LOT of money. All items sell for way more then Disney's predicted worth.

Good Luck. Its fun to watch, but I leave the bidding up to the others.

Scott, I plan on doing the same thing, a lot of watching, but no bidding me for me! I've spent enough already:scared1:

Hmmm... sounds like pool tme for me then. I spent too much on RSP stuff and the trip itself.

Auction items in the past that I've attended (WDCC conventions) have gone very high. I think there will be some WDCC pieces in the auctions, most likely Artist Proofs or Whiteware. Since they added Trevor Carlton to the list of artists attending, my guess is he will do a painting during the final dinner and they will then auction that off. Those go for typically 5000-10,000 range, depending on subject. The auctions are a lot of fun to watch. I'm hoping that their may be some more affordable items during the silent auction part of the event.

These auctions tend to draw out all the idiots, a good rule of thumb is, "If you have to ask....."

I have bought items at the auctions (although I must admit I don't consider myself an idiot). They can be pricey but sometimes they have something (like a pin) of a character you absolutely love (like Elliot) and you must have it (so bid so many times that one of the auctioneers stands in front of you).

I feel that auction prices have come down from the early years (2001-2003). It was amazing what some of the items went for back then (okay, okay including my Elliot pin).

Hi Cyn!! I think I was sitting near you when you won the Elliott pin! I remember it well!

Griffin, the auctions are a little bit crazy, but a whole lot of fun. They will preview the items for the auction Wednesday and Thursday from 9:00am - 4:00pm.

I just checked the event itinerary and Trevor Carlton is not listed. Wonder what happened?

OOOH now what do I do cause well the DW says I am an IDIOT so apparenly I belong at the auction LOL. Kidding, however it does sound like fun, I will just have to keep my impulse control in check an not start waving a paddle like a wild man.

Oh and what is an Elliot Pin? (he asked very embarrased in front of pin queen suzi)

Have you ever seen the old Disney movie, Pete's Dragon? Elliot is the dragon.
The pin is a one of a kind (at least so far) prototype pin of him.

I bid on something at one of the auctions for the HHB, but didn't get it. I wasn't willing or able to spend more than $4150, and I forget what it went for, but it was alot more than that (it was a drawing from the film).

The auctions are fun b/c you can see a real auction in action (I have a great uncle who is an auctioneer) and see how much the stuff goes for.

If you check on this page http://www.register123.com/event/profile/web/index.cfm?PKwebID=0x6505741c3&varPage=info it says that Trevor Carlton is going to be at the meet and greet opportunities. He's not listed on the itinerary page. It's fun to watch him paint a picture before your eyes. When he did it at the last WDCC convention, he completed the picture while we ate lunch.

Thanks for the link. Was that WDCC convention at Disneyland....Blast to the Past??? I was there!!!

I have also seen him several times as a guest at an NFFC July Convention in CA. He is fun to watch.

Yes, that was the Blast to the Past convention, I was there too! We did have a Blast!

:lmao: Boy.......that brings back memories. If you drove by, on 146 you could see part of the films.

Believe it or not, sometime in the 90's after it was closed for a while, the Rustic Drive In re-opened with a a change of genre. No more Porno flicks. Now they show family movies.

Drive Ins period bring back memories. I don't think I have been to one in at least ten years.

I am not going to admit knowing that you could see the screen from 146 if you were driving North bound..
