"Pirate, Your Reputation Precedes You!" The Stitchs Do WDW & The Dream! New 9/7!

So many great character experiences! The handler running with D, Ariel sounds amazing, so adorable how she coaxed D I to chatting about the bus, and finding Woody and Jessie! Awesome! (Though too bad about Gaston!)

Hey, I just joined your report its fantastic! I'm a teacher in Australia and heading to Orlando in November! I have an ADR to BOG more for the experience than the food - getting lots of ideas from your adventures - thanks

Love that story. You should have taken a picture of Brian's face when he realized it was the meet and greet. :rotfl:

Thanks for making me laugh today.

It was TOO funny! Well, not at that time, but afterwards!! :rotfl2:

We had the same problem meeting Woody and Jessie on our last trip! I was looking for them down near the entrance to Splash, but they were on the opposite side of it!

They really never disappoint though. One of my favorite sets of characters to meet!

They are one of my favorites, too! Always such great interaction! Well, I am glad I am not the only one who thought they were still in the Splash spot. I was sad that I hadn't thought to ask the day before!

They really were some great character experiences! I really think the characters are my favorite part of WDW, even as an adult!

Hi!! Welcome aboard! Australia? WOW!! BOG was definitely worth it for the experience, and I'm glad we did it once! I just don't think I'll ever get D there again!! :rolleyes1

Ok, update coming below, y'all!! And hopefully one a day all this week!!

Given our traveling method for this trip, did you really think we’d head straight to lunch? Nope! For us, it’s “lunch by way of some long-distance, crazy path!” :rotfl:

Before lunch (and so we didn’t forget), we headed to our traditional picture spot! I love that we have this picture of me and D from every trip he has been on!

Then we hiked BACK to get some lunch. Originally, we were supposed to eat at Liberty Tree, so now our lunch plans were open! Where did we head? CHH of course!!

D had fun playing with his buses (yes, he carries one everywhere!) before Brian brought the food.

Yes, we’re boring people and ate the exact same thing again, but it was SO good!

By that point, D was wearing down a little bit—I guess from the early wakeup! So, we decided to make a trek to the Emporium to get something for my niece. . .AND the car hauler! On the way, though, we realized we hadn’t gotten a Partners pic. We decided to remedy that before we got to the store.

I wanted the photographer to take a pic of D by himself. He (the photographer) wasn’t thrilled with that plan, so he told D just to run up really quick. I asked him to wait until the people behind him moved, and his response was, “There will always be people there.” So, I have referred to these pics as D with bajillions of people in the back AND a statue!

More Castle Pics:

After that, we FINALLY made it to the Emporium! We made all of our purchases (plus some, of course!). While we were in there, we heard the sounds of one of our VERY favorite things. . .the MOVE IT, SHAKE IT, CELEBRATE IT Parade!! I love, love, love this, and so do the guys!! We quickly made our purchases and headed out to see it!

So glad we caught it before we decided to leave!

Love the pictures in Story book circus. Especially Daisy and Minnie's outfits. I can not wait to see them in September.

We are also big fans of Move It, Shake It Celebrate It. Sadly both times we attempted to watch it on our trip it rained. The first time it was rained out completely and the second the rain did not start until the parade was underway so they just skipped the part where they dance in the streets which is my favorite part:sad2:

It was definitely great--I loved Minnie's "Super-Fabulous" pink outfit! :thumbsup2 Oh, that's too bad about Move It, Shake It, Celebrate It! The dancing in the street is my favorite part, too!!

Great update! :)

Thanks!! :thumbsup2

Ok, y'all, another update coming below!

We took a family poll and decided we were all ready to head back to WL and rest for a while before dinner at ‘Ohana that night. We knew we might not come back to MK this trip, so we had to do one of our must-do’s. . .say goodbye to Mickey!

The line was only like 5 minutes long—lucky break! So, away we went. Mickey was again thrilled to see us, and equally sad that we were leaving! ;)

We were a little sad when we left Mickey! You know how sad it is to leave MK for the last time on a trip!

On the way out, Brian wanted to go up and see Main Street from the Train Station. D didn’t want to, so we waited below while Bri went up. Check out that crowd!

D and I from down below:

Then, we headed out of MK and off to the bus to head to Wilderness Lodge!

We were there the first full week of February and it was the Celebrate a Dream Come True Parade. Our granddaughter enjoyed it because it had lots of princesses in it.

Main Street is really crowded! Were the parks crowded while you were there?

Oh no! I HATE saying goodbye to the MK :( Getting a hug from Mickey is a great way to do it, though.

This is actually the "mini" parade that runs at 12 and 2, I think. It's sort of a little street party. The Celebrate a Dream Come True Parade is gorgeous, too! D hasn't seen it, though, because up until now, he was a napper during that time! It wasn't really crowded on our first day, but it was picking up on the 2nd day. I think it was because it was the week leading into Easter? It wasn't crowded in the mornings, but the evenings were packed!

Isn't it awful?? So sad to say goodbye to MK!! :sad1: We started the "Tell Mickey Bye" thing to keep D from being too upset. . .and it works for us too! :rotfl2:

Update coming below!! :thumbsup2

Sadly, we weren’t the only people on the bus back to WL (darn it, Disney. . .where did my personal transportation go?? :lmao: )

We were excited to get back and see what creation Mousekeeping had left us today! However, when we got back to the room (about an hour later than we had gotten back the day before), we found that they hadn’t been there at all. Well, no worries. We straightened up some, and then we took a nap. After all, we were headed to a favorite tonight!

After nap, we got up and got ready. For some reason, Mousekeeping had left a message saying to call them when we were headed out again (now, we didn’t have a sign up, the phone didn’t ring, and we had been gone all morning, but ok). So Brian did (it was about 3:45) and told them we’d be out until about 7:30 or so. The guy he talked to said that was great and they’d take care of it!  Before we could head to dinner, though, I wanted to take a few pics of D around Wilderness Lodge. So, here it is, my “D in WL” photo shoot!

After that, we went to the bus stop to ride back to MK and head to ‘Ohana. Imagine D’s THRILL and surprise when the bus pulled up for MK and it was one of the NEW buses!!! He was SO excited!!

Then, after we arrived at MK, it was on to another of D’s favorite parts, of course--getting to ride the monorail to the Poly! As we waited to get on, we saw the Iron Man 3 monorail! Too cool!!

Our monorail driver’s name was Kevin, and as he walked by, he spoke to D. D told him that HE wanted to be a monorail driver when he grew up. Kevin said, “You know what? So did I!” When we got off at the Poly, he came back to D and gave him one of the monorail trading cards. I promise, if he had given D a million dollars, D wouldn’t have been happier! He was SO excited! Once we got to the Poly, we had to get a picture:

We were a little early, so we waited a few minutes. It wasn’t bad, though. We got to our table shortly and met our server on the way. Heather was our “cousin” (what the ‘Ohana servers are called), and we have had her there before. She was great! Her assistant, though, was AWESOME! His name was Michaud, and he was from Haiti. For some reason, he and I just clicked. We talked and laughed through the whole meal!

I ordered D some chicken nuggets and fries as soon as we sat down, and then we were off to the goodness that is ‘Ohana. I know this place gets some “meh” reviews sometimes, but it always is a hit for us! We just love it!

By far, my favorite part are the chicken wings. I really could eat the entire plate of them!

At the end of the meal, they brought Brian and D celebration cupcakes!

Michaud and I hit it off so well that I had to get a pic before we left. I love meeting cast members who love their job!

We headed out of ‘Ohana, and I asked D if he wanted to go anywhere else (since the next day was cruise day, and we wouldn’t be back to a park). He said, “DOWNTOWN DISNEY!!” So, off we went!

We went to Once Upon a Toy, and he stumbled upon the Build Your Own LightSaber. Now, do we NEED a Lightsaber? Nope. But my Star Wars loving hubby was definitely suckered by his son wanting one, so we got one!

It was about 7:15 or so by this point, and Brian and D were starting to wear down. So we headed to Goofy’s Candy Kitchen to spend some snack credits, and then we bid goodbye to DTD. I was starting to get really excited about the cruise the next day, even though I knew we still had some stuff to get through before then.

One last DTD pic, and we’re on our way:

So glad you enjoyed dinner at 'Ohana! We love it there too.

Yay for monorail trading card! How cute is he with his new treasure?

DD told DH she wants a lightsaber this year, and he reacted similarly. I'm sure she'll get one. :rotfl:

That post brought back some great memories. Thank again for the chicken nugget secret. Not only did we use it at O'hana's but we shared with there too with a couple of families that wondered how we got those nuggets. The chicken wings were my fave too. I can't wait to get back.

Just stumbled onto your TR, and couldn't stop reading! I'm all caught up now and I'm loving it! Can't wait until the cruise portion. I've never done a Disney cruise before so it'll be fun to read about your experiences! And also, D is so adorable!

I LOVE that parade!! It's so fun and upbeat. I get right into it. :thumbsup2
Adorable D in WL shots, they're all too cute.
D's love of the busses and monorails is so cute too, I love how excited he got about the trading card and how wonderful of the driver to be so friendly.
I've yet to do 'Ohana! Glad you guys loved it, looks like a fun time!

Isn't 'Ohana just wonderful?!? Just makes me happy!! D was so so so thrilled with that monorail card. He STILL keeps up with it! And I cannot wait for your DD to get her lightsaber. You know how those Star Wars-loving hubbies are!! Hmm. . .just a few days and you'll BE THERE!!! YAY!!!!

I always think of telling you that, whenever we're there!! The chicken nugget secret is definitely a keeper!! So glad I have a chicken wing buddy!!

Hi! Welcome aboard! So glad you are reading along! I just have a couple of more land posts, and then it'll be off to the cruise! I noticed your TR in your sig. . .I'll have to go read! I love a good TR! And thanks for your compliments on D. . .you can so tell he's not spoiled at all, right?!?!

I always get all into that parade too! Sometimes Brian is like, "You know you're the only grown up dancing on the sidewalk, right?" But that's ok! They just don't know what they're missing!!

Thanks for the compliments on D! He's such a little mess! I was so glad that driver was open to talking to him and interacting with him. It just fueled his love of (obsession with ??) monorails!!

You should definitely try 'Ohana! SOOOOO good!!

I hope all of you had a wonderful 4th! Update coming below!

After Goofy’s, pics, and waiting on a bus back, we arrived at WL about 8:15 or so. Brian is one of those really laidback people who is REALLY laidback until he’s not. Then he’s in full-on go go go mode. He had started thinking about packing the stuff for the cruise—how to load it, how to do all of that stuff, where to put it, etc—while we were on the bus, and he was ready to get to it.

We got up to our room, all geared up to go, only to find. . .still no Mousekeeping. Now, we’re DVC members, so we’re used to not having daily Mousekeeping, and we’re not really messy. However, I was a little surprised that we were on Club Level, and there was no Mousekeeping and no turndown service. We were also out of towels. Brian called down and the person who answered told him that someone would be right up with towels. Brian asked why it hadn’t been cleaned (in a nice way—he’s the nice one) and the person on the phone said they didn’t know. Ok.

So we started organizing and packing. This is always the point where Brian decides I have brought too much stuff. As though at that point we can do anything about the amount I brought! ;) I’m used to it though, so I know how to pack it all in so it seems a little less! We worked and worked, and before I knew it it was 9:30. Wait. We haven’t had showers. Wait. That’s because we have no towels.

About 9:40, someone knocks at the door. I go to the door, and it’s a Mousekeeper. She says, “I am here to clean your room. Are you going out?” Umm. . .it’s 9:40. No. I said, “Ummm, no. Someone was supposed to clean it this afternoon. We have a little boy, and we are in for the night.” She just stood there and looked at me. I was trying to be really nice. I said, “Could I just have some towels?” She said, “Well, I don’t have any with me. . .I will have to get some, but could you let me in to clean?” I said, “I’m sorry, no. We are trying to get packed up, and there’s no way you could get through.” She said, “Well you have to let me in to get the trash.” I said, “Ok, I’ll hand it to you.” I really wasn’t trying to hide stuff. . .there was just no way that she could get in the room, and I wasn’t sure why she wanted to at 9:40. I just wanted to go to bed! She said, “Well, it’s not our fault the room didn’t get cleaned or turndown service (part of CL) didn’t get done.” I said, “Ok.” She said, “Someone didn’t show up for work, so we were shorthanded.” I said, “I understand, that happens at my work and makes it hard on everyone.” She said, “Yes, so it’s not our fault. We just have to get to your room when we can.” I just said ok and good night.

I understand they were shorthanded. I get that. I completely do. I just thought the guy Brian talked to at 3:45 should’ve said, “It may be 10 pm before we get there.” She left, and about 10 minutes later, ANOTHER woman showed up with towels. I gave D a quick bath and then he was off to watch Wishes from the balcony!

We got everything put together and headed off to dream our Disney Cruise Dreams!!

That seems really odd that Mousekeeping would mess up like that. It isn't something you'd expect at any hotel, let alone club level at the WL. We had excellent mousekeeping when we were there in February.

Now, MY Disney kid will be spoiled!
I don't even wanna think about that yet! :p

Just read your new UD! That Mouskeeping issue really stinks. Sometimes Disney just isn't on their game I guess! I once had MK literally pound on our door at 2am because they were looking for lost luggage. Not only were we scared/confused...but 2am, really??? And they were really rude about it too. :sad2:
