"Pirate, Your Reputation Precedes You!" The Stitchs Do WDW & The Dream! New 9/7!

A little monorail ride to the Magic Kingdom:

Ahhhh. . the Magic Kingdom opening show! There’s nothing like it! I cry EVERY SINGLE TIME! This time was no different! We made it in plenty of time to have a good spot for the whole thing!

We knew that this morning, we wanted to do anything we had missed as well as anything we wanted to repeat. First on the list. . .Buzz Lightyear Space Ranger Spin!! We wanted one more ride, and we figured we’d make that happen while D was geared up and ready to go!

On the way into that area, we saw a group of CMs all together waving Mickey/Stitch/Minnie hands. It was so neat! So. . .I jumped in line with them! Yes. I stood there and waved at people like a crazy person, but it was cool! Probably the closest I’ll ever get to being a CM! Bless my hubby, he took my pic!

That done, it was off to defeat Zurg again! D rode with Bri this time, and even when I concentrated, they still outscored me!

After another pic with Zurg:

We were headed to D’s favorite repeat: TOMORROWLAND SPEEDWAY!! As they got in line to ride it, the ride was short. However, a little boy busted his nose on one of the cars and bled ALL OVER EVERYTHING. I felt so bad for him. That closed all of the cars and the grandstand area until they could get it cleaned up. Not to be deterred, though, D and Brian waited in line until they could ride.

On the way out, D of course remembered the Mack Hauler. We assured him that we’d come back to get it (if he was good) after we rode other stuff. However, he did manage to talk us into a spinning Lightning. Yes, I’m weak. ;)

After we purchased that, we headed toward Storybook Circus. The White Rabbit was out, and I somehow convinced D we needed to meet him. Now, I LOVE Alice. D, however, has never seen it, so he was like, “Ummm, ok”.

After our White Rabbit visit, we headed past the teacups. But wait. D says, “Heyyyyyy, I want to ride THAT!” I said, “are you sure?” He said, “YEP!!! Let’s GO!!” So off to the teacups we went! He wasn’t scared at all and laughed through the whole thing. I love these pics of him finding a new favorite!

It was definitely a great “first” for him!! Next up: Back to the Circus!

I know--it didn't hit me until we got on the boat that he had never ridden one, but he was alllllll over it! He still talks about it!

I didn't realize that our grandchildren, age 3 & 5, had never ridden a boat before we rode the WL boats. They loved it and I don't think they ever rode the bus to MK.

I love that your son still holds the car/truck in almost every picture. Kids are cute like that.

Your pictures at Chef Mickey are really cute. Everyone seems so relaxed and happy. :goodvibes

I love the expression on your son's face as he is walking to his race car at the Tomorrowland Speedway. He is very excited. :) My 5 year grandson had to drive a car, too. ;)

Your pictures of Chef Mickey are great. We ate there for the first time this last trip.

Early ADRs are the best! We only had one on our trip but used it to our advantage.

It is so great when you see the look on your child's face after they try something new and love it. I am not a huge fan of the tea cups so Kenny has to go with Gabriel and I get to watch:)

Great picture with the White Rabbit. He is one of my favorites:cool1:

Yahoo for Chef Mickeys! Got a love the tea cups!!

Poor boy, smashing his nose. Hopefully he was treated like royalty after.

Sounds like you guys had a great time at Chef Mickeys!

Wow you even got to the mk opening show? That's great timing. I love that show, I get a little teary-eyed too.
Love the pics on the teacups! D looks so adorable and so happy!

Hey there!! Jumping in reallllllly late :rotfl: Boy, D is getting so big, but still as cute as ever!!

Love the CM pics. :) We are eating there next month, but for breakfast. It's one we've never done--I'm excited for it.

He sure liked those tea cups! I have refused to go on them on all our other trips...we'll see what happens this time :rotfl:

I really must stop reading these trip reports. It's just getting me all excited and geared up for a trip that I don't even know when I can take again. :sad1: However, am loving your pics and can't wait to hear about the cruise.

Isn't it funny about how they get so excited about riding a boat and all of that? I love it! Yes, he ALWAYS has a car/truck/bus with him, wherever we go!

Thanks for the compliments!! We were definitely relaxed and enjoying vacation! And the car driving is THE THING for 5 year old boys, I think! D always feels SO grown up!!

I love Chef Mickey!! BTW, I read your whole trip report last weekend--well, up to that point! Then my ipad wouldn't let me comment! I LOVE it! Looks like y'all had a blast, and I can't wait to read more!!

Those early ADRs are terrific! Especially for "morning" people! It always seems to make it like you have tons of time in the park!

I am a big teacup fan, as long as Brian doesn't spin it and spin it and spin it! He says that takes the fun out of it!

The White Rabbit and all of Alice in Wonderland are big favorites of mine as well!! It's just such a fun movie!

Yahoo for Chef Mickeys! Got a love the tea cups!!

Poor boy, smashing his nose. Hopefully he was treated like royalty after.

I do so love Chef Mickeys! AND the teacups!! Both in one day was perfect! I felt so bad for that poor little boy and for his mom. She was rattled (I would've been too!) and he was bleeding everywhere. :sad2:

Sounds like you guys had a great time at Chef Mickeys!

We did have a great time! So much so that for our next trip, we are eating dinner there twice! So glad someone else gets teary-eyed at the opening, it gets me EVERY time!!

I love the teacup pics too! Thanks!! I was so proud of him for trying it!

Hi!! Welcome aboard!! As you can see, it's taking me forever to get this written. I'm trying to speed it up some! So glad you're along for the ride! Thanks for the compliments on D--I think he is growing up toooooo fast! ;)

Chef Mickey's is great--I love the breakfast AND the dinner! So good!!

He really did love the teacups! He still talks about them! Try it out next time. . .just don't let anyone spin the middle thing until you get used to it! :thumbsup2

I know what you mean. . .I think I am dragging this report a little, but I love reliving this trip!! I hope to finish the land portion by the beginning of next week. . .I LOVED the land part, but the cruise was AMAZING!! So glad you're reading along!!

Ok, everyone--thanks again for reading along! Two more updates coming below!!

We headed on into Storybook Circus after our teacup adventure. It wasn’t crowded at all at that point (still early) so we wanted to get some fun stuff done!
First up. . . “Goofy’s Airplane” as D calls it!

D decided he wanted to ride with me instead of Brian. He didn’t cry—just squealed the whole time. I am thinking he may turn into a thrill rider (not that this is much of a thrill ride!).

Thank you, Goofy, we definitely will!

From there, it was another elephant flight! There was NO LINE! Yippee!! My kind of elephant flight!

Then, D was determined we were headed back to the character meet and greet!

He and I walked up, and Brian went to put the stroller up. There was NO ONE in there. The handler with Goofy saw D walking up. He said, “That’s no fun, my man! There’s no one in here. . .RUN!!” So he and D ran through all of the lines and up to Goofy and Donald! He was D’s new friend for life!!

We finished that side, and D decided he’d go see Daisy and Minnie again, since there still weren’t any people there! So he explained to Brian about the running, and they were off!

That was such a fun meet and greet area, and D had a blast! Next up: some confusion that turns out well!

After Storybook Circus, I stopped on the way out to take some pics of the guys!

Then Brian noticed that they had the walkthrough open so you could cut through from Storybook Circus to New Fantasyland (it had been closed earlier in the day). As we were walking by Ariel’s Grotto, I noticed that the posted wait was 15 minutes. I said (I REALLY REALLY DID), “Look. . .the wait to meet Ariel is only 15 minutes. Let’s stop!!” Brian went and put up the stroller and D and I went in.

We waited in line for a while, but it seemed to move fairly quickly. In front of us was a big family, and the Dad kept talking about this being a “dark ride” and how it seemed like it loaded fairly quickly. I said to Brian (I REALLY REALLY DID), “That poor guy is going to get a rude awakening when he realizes this is the meet and greet and NOT a ride”.

So we get alllllllllllll the way almost through the line (if you’ve been there, we were right at the end, almost before you cross into the room), and my loving, such-a-good-listener husband says, “I hope this ride doesn’t scare D if it’s dark.” I thought he was kidding. I said, “Ummmmmm, yeah.” He said, “Do you think it will?” I finally said, “You’re kidding, right??” He said, “Why? Is it not scary?” I said, “THIS IS THE MEET AND GREET!!!! I said it three times!!” He said, “No, it’s not. Are you serious?” I really thought he had lost his mind. I assured him that it was indeed the meet and greet. By that point, we were next, so he had no choice but to go on in. There was no photopass photographer there, but I am so so glad we went! Ariel was awesome!

D was shy at first, and she realized it. She quickly asked him what he had with him, and he showed her his Disney bus. She said, “Oh wow! I bet people are small that ride that bus!” Then they held the bus up and took turns looking for the people. She also talked about where they’d go on vacation and asked him if he had other buses. When he told her he did, she asked when she could swim to his house to come over and play. It was definitely an AMAZING character experience. . .even if she was a “Grill”!

Even Brian had to agree that it was worth it! :lmao:

Wow! You had great luck with the crowds that morning! I love that the CM told D to run through the line-that's exactly what a little boy would love to hear!

Oh boy, the selective hearing rears it's ugly head. Was Brian disappointed that he wasn't going on a ride? ;)

D has really warmed up to the characters. Ariel hit on the perfect topic for their conversation. ;)

Thanks so much for sharing your trip report! It sounds like you had a great time, and I look forward to reading about your cruise! I like how your outfits all complement each other; I like to do that too. Makes the photos look great, and it makes it easier to spot each other!

We were definitely lucky with the crowds! D STILL talks about getting to run through that line! He thought that was as good as any ride or anything we did. . .except, of course, the bus! :rotfl2:

Yep, that was the epitome of the selective hearing! Sometimes, I still feel the need to make sure he's listening by saying, "I need you to do blah blah blah, and this is where we MEET Ariel, right?" Somehow, he doesn't appreciate it??? ;)

D has really warmed up to the characters. Ariel hit on the perfect topic for their conversation. ;)

She sure did! He was not at all impressed that she was a mermaid. Just that she was a "grill" who knew about buses! I think he still thinks she will swim to his house one day!

Thanks for reading along!! :) We really did have a good time! It was my favorite trip we've taken so far! The coordinating outfits are a must for me--for both reasons you mentioned!! We have found that it works well for us!

You are making me rethink some of the characters my kids want to visit! I think I'm going to push Jasmine, Ariel, maybe even Belle. I bet they would like them more than they think (they are kind of all, ewwwww princesses!).

"THIS IS THE MEET AND GREET!!!" Hysterical :rotfl:

Great update! :)

Thanks!! :goodvibes

"THIS IS THE MEET AND GREET!!!" Hysterical :rotfl:

D definitely loved Ariel!! He thought it was terrific! I want to try Jasmine in October--especially since she made a "cool" appearance on Disney Junior! ;)

The meet and greet *was* pretty funny! Bless Brian, sometimes that selective hearing really does rear its head!!

Ok, y'all, another update coming below!

After Ariel, we headed to another character destination—to meet Gaston at his fountain! It was hot, and we waited about 15 minutes past Gaston’s “time”, and he never showed.  However, to pass the time, we did pick up the cutest Dumbo popcorn bucket! I thought I had a pic, but I can’t find it! It was TOOOOO cute!!

From there, we decided we might try one more time to accomplish another mission. We had tried the day before all day to meet Woody and Jessie while D had his Woody shirt on. Every time we went over there, they were not out. So, today, we decided we’d try again.

Welllllll. . .it turns out that I had been looking in the wrong place! I thought they were still outside of Big Thunder Mountain toward the gate area. I did find out, though, after asking a CM (WHY didn’t I do that the day before??) that they were down in the Splash Mountain area. So, off we went!

The line wasn’t very long, but it wasn’t very shaded so it seemed like it took a little longer. In reality, we were probably only in line about 10-15 minutes, and then we were up to meet Woody and Jessie! D thought this was terrific! He had his Toy Story crocs on, and Woody made a big deal of seeing himself on D’s shoes. . .Jessie made a big deal of seeing her “boyfriend” Buzz on D’s shoes!!

I was glad we finally found them, and we were all excited and ready to head to some lunch by then!

Love that story. You should have taken a picture of Brian's face when he realized it was the meet and greet. :rotfl:

Thanks for making me laugh today.

We had the same problem meeting Woody and Jessie on our last trip! I was looking for them down near the entrance to Splash, but they were on the opposite side of it!

They really never disappoint though. One of my favorite sets of characters to meet!
