"Pirate, Your Reputation Precedes You!" The Stitchs Do WDW & The Dream! New 9/7!

Adorable pictures with Mickey! :thumbsup2
ACK! BOG! I can just imagine everyone trying to get in without a reservation. The poor CM should have just had a sign that said "No ADR - No Entry!" hahaha oh well, sounds like she was handling it as best she could.
I can't wait to see what you think of it!!

Awesome pics. :goodvibes

Thank you!

Back from our trip and all caught up. We actually ate at CHH for the first time while we were there on your suggestion:thumbsup2.

Isn't it always the case that those of us that are amazingly organized are the ones that forgot the one thing we need when we need it?:rotfl2:. So impressed with D's interaction with Joe the Photopass Photographer. It's memories like that that last forever.

Love your pictures with Mickey. MK is our favorite place to meet him also.

I was not surprised at all to hear about your experience with the little boy on your way to BoG. I saw way too much of that while we were there. IMO there is a time and a place and Disney is not it.

Glad you made it into BoG before the rain started. Can't wait to hear how dinner went.

So glad y'all are back safely!! I've got to get over and join in on your TR!! I can't wait to hear about it! I hope you all liked CHH, and I so agree with you about the "organized" ones!! ;) I, like you, saw way too much of the incidents like the little boy at BOG. It was really kind of sad.

I felt so sorry for her! I am not a quiet person :rolleyes1 and I wanted to use my loud voice and say, "HEY!! NOOOOO ADRS!!!!" :rotfl:

You are SO right! :headache:

Ok, y'all, I finally won a battle with Photobucket!! Three updates coming below!! I am finally pretty much done with work for 5 weeks, so updates should come more frequently!!

I was so, so, so excited for this meal!! I LOVE Beauty and the Beast, and I could not wait to see the theming!!

We were seated in the Ballroom. So, so pretty. But so, so crowded. I am, shall we say, blessed with “junk in the trunk”. I’m not huge, but I’m not a skinny Minnie. If I had to serve at this restaurant, I could not fit between the tables. I was fascinated by watching the CM’s move in and out to get to all of the tables.

I can’t remember if I told you this earlier or not, but during our morning at MK, I had stopped and talked to one of the BOG CM’s. I knew that there were no chicken nuggets on the menu, and nothing D would eat. I also knew, though, that at a lot of WDW restaurants (or every one we had ever been to) that they would get you chicken nuggets. I asked the CM, and then I said, “Because if I can’t get them, that’s fine. Just let me know. I can bring them in from somewhere else, if need be.” He said, “Well, they aren’t on the menu, but ask your server.” I brought crackers and some stuff in my purse, but I didn’t get chicken.

When we got to our table, I could tell D was wearing down. For some reason, the ballroom (where it’s darkish) was scary to him, and he didn’t like the noise of all of the people eating in that room. I guess to him, it was loud. To me, it sounded like the cafeteria at the high school where I work, when about 500 people are in there to eat. Clink clink clink, chatter chatter chatter. That was not D’s favorite plan.

I was not to be deterred, though. Still gonna be the greatest Disney meal ever.

We took some pics at our table:

Doesn’t D look beyond thrilled to be here??

Our server was Kimberly, and she arrived quickly. I immediately asked her about the chicken nuggets. She said, “We don’t have chicken nuggets and I can’t get them. But chicken’s chicken. He can eat the grilled one.” I said, “Ooookay.” She went over the menu with us:

We ordered pretty soon after that. I got the soup to start and Brian got the mussels:

The only appetizer I thought D would eat (and I do know that his issues with food are my fault, not Disney’s  ) was fruit. I asked her what was in it, and she told me it was grapes and apples and strawberries. I figured that would work. When she brought it out, she said, “I’m so sorry. It’s different fruit tonight.” So, it was melon and something I can’t remember. D just looked at me like “Seriously?” If you’re keeping score, it’s now BOG---1, Momma’s Fun Evening—0.

I got the crackers out and started trying to get D to eat something. About that time, she brought out our food. I got the steak, and Brian got the salmon. For some reason (it could’ve been because I was trying to pacify D), I didn’t take pics of the food.

My food was just ok. I wanted it to be terrific, just because I was so excited about it. My steak was kind of burnt, and the veggies were just sorta bleh. Brian said his salmon was excellent. D didn’t like the chicken—I tasted it, and I had to agree with him. It tasted more like smoke than chicken. He did like the fries, though. So, fries and crackers and cheese it was. ;)

Somehow, D started crying during the meal. I think it was just the buildup of everything, and then the noise. By that point, I had realized that maybe this restaurant just wasn’t for us.

Thankfully, they brought out the grey stuff just then, and D was happy to blow out the candle!!

Now, let me tell you. You don’t have to ask the dishes. The steak may have been bleh, but that grey stuff is GOOD!!

Throughout the meal, the announcer would introduce our “host”, and the Beast would walk through the room. D kept saying, “I am NOT meeting him. I am NOT.” I had assured him that he didn’t have to. Poor guy did not think any of this was very magical.

The next thing to come to our table was the cupcake cart. I was hoping that would make D happy. I had the lemon cupcake, Brian had the passionfruit cupcake, and D had the chocolate one.

I have to say, that lemon cupcake was (barring my mom’s homemade chocolate cake) the BEST. DESSERT. EVER. I would eat one every day if I could.

After dessert, we settled our bill, and then went to see the other rooms. The room with the rose was awesome!!

That room seemed darker, but it was much less loud! The enchanted rose was amazing!!

After checking out all of the rooms, we went to meet Beast. Yes, I had told D he didn’t have to. This did not mean that I wasn’t going to. I was excited!

I finally managed to talk D into coming up, as long as he didn’t have to touch Beast.

Beast pics done, Brian ventured to the restroom, and D and I checked out the suits of armor. Their conversations were hilarious!

And some gargoyles:

When we got outside, we realized that it had stopped raining somewhat, so we grabbed the stroller:

And ventured out of the BOG area. Now, I know that BOG has a huge fan club. I think it’s extraordinarily themed. I think the lemon cupcake is heavenly. I also think that it’s probably not the restaurant for us. I am glad we went. I don’t think we have to go back again. In fact, when I was trying to do ADR’s for our upcoming October trip, the FIRST thing D said was, “Momma, PLEASE don’t make me go back to that castle!” :rotfl: Final Score for that part: BOG—4, Momma’s Fun Evening—0.

After BOG, I wanted to go check out Village Gifts. I hadn’t had a chance to go in earlier, so I walked up there while Brian and D walked around a little bit. Or at least that was the plan. It started POURING then, and every single person who was within 100 yards of Village Gifts decided THAT was the place to be! YIKES!!

Brian and D managed to squeeze themselves and the stroller in there, but we left quickly because I was petrified that we would hit something (probably some $200 goblet or something) and break it.

We headed over to Gaston’s Tavern to check out LeFou’s Brew! That didn’t look really appealing to me, but the lovely CM let me have coffee in my mug! I was a happy girl!! I had to take a pic of Gaston’s “barrels” there too:

The rain didn’t show much sign of letting up, so we started to head out at that point (I am SO not destined to see Wishes in Magic Kingdom!). The rain took a quick break, and we took another photopass pic. ..look at us. . .we survived BOG! Do they make buttons for that??

Rain came back, and we’re on the way out now. . .except I had a BRILLIANT idea (read that with the intended sarcasm). I decided we should go see the princesses. Why? Yeah, not sure on that one. However, D met this sweet little girl and her parents in line, and he and the little girl watched “Cars” on his ipod touch while we waited.

The line wasn’t too long—maybe 15 minutes? Once we entered the room, D informed me that the only princess he was interested in seeing was “RE-punzel”. I assured him that she was there, but we had to meet the other two first.

Cinderella was first. D had NO interest in her until he put it together that she was the Cinderella who KNEW Sofia the First. Big kudos to Cinderella. . .when D said, “You know Sofia, right?” in his quietest voice, she said, “Yes! Do YOU know Sofia? I was in her movie! We sang a song about “True Sisters”! Do you remember??” D was totally taken by her then!!

Next up was Aurora. Not too sure about her. D had just a little bit of conversation, because he could see REpunzel over her shoulder!

Then it was on to the girl of the hour! As soon as we walked up, D decided he was shy! She asked him if he knew what her name was, and he said, “You’re REpunzel!” in a really quiet voice and then hid his face! She said, “Yes! That’s me!” When it appeared that he wasn’t going to get his face off of my shoulder, she asked him if he knew Pascal, and if he could help her find him. That was all it took. . .he thought she was the greatest thing ever!

After our princess visit, we really did head out of the park! We were on a good note, and there was no way I was going to jinx that! We did stop to have one MK night pic!

Then, it was back to Wilderness Lodge. Next up. . .one of my favorite CM encounters EVER!

We arrived back to WL about 8:30 or so, I would guess. Keith was at the Concierge Desk, and bless him, he was the victim of the “great idea” I had come up with. See, I had decided after the Be Our Guest disaster, that maybe the Liberty Tree Tavern lunch I had planned for the next day was a BAD idea. They didn’t have chicken either, and I could see it getting ugly. Plus we had ‘Ohana for dinner that next night, and I didn’t know about two big meals right together. So, what was my plan? Oh, hey! Let’s see if we can get a Chef Mickey’s breakfast or something! Cause, you know, the week of Easter, with ADRs I made promptly at 6 am 180 days out. Yep, let’s just grab one of those!!

So, I walk up to Keith, and Brian and D go to get cookies and milk. I said, “Hi, now before I ask this, please understand that I know how crazy this sounds.” I went on to ask if he could see if there was ANYTHING the next morning for breakfast. I think he realized I knew it probably wouldn’t be there, so he started clowning around with me. He said, “Are you kidding? I mean, really? I mean, I’ll hit the buttons, but COME ON.” It was hilarious! Then he covered his face in horror as he hit enter. Only come to find out, the Pixie Dust was with me, and there were FOUR different ADRs available. . .including a 7:15 one at Chef Mickey’s! When he read it to me, I said, “SHUT. UP!” He started laughing. I said, “I’m sorry, that’s my Tennessee Redneck coming out.” He said, “Girrrrl, my Louisiana Cajun agreed with you!!” We snatched it up quickly and he told me to run away fast so that nothing came crashing down! He really was one of the BEST CM’s EVER!!

That done, we had some coffee, milk, and cookies, took showers, and headed off to dream Disney dreams!!

Very cute story! I love when there are great CM interactions...fun!

I did love my BOG experience when we went in February. The service wasn't the best, but not awful either, but we enjoyed the food and the atmosphere. I would go again...some day. Too bad you guys didn't enjoy it.

I think I have met Keith before!!! We met him at the front desk concierge and he booked Keys to the Kingdom for my parents with my CM discount and I didn't have to go with them which was pretty great!! I saw him in the fall at Yacht Club concierge and said hello. He is a pretty great CM and is VERY sarcastic..lol it was hard to read him at times lol. He is also very "pretty" right?! He was pretty great the two times I saw him. I keep looking for him when we're at WL but I haven't seen him..probably bc he's in Club Level now?!

Besides BOG, It' seems to be quite easy to get hard ADRS 24-48 hours out because of the cancelation policy. You might not get a ton of times to pick from but I've gotten Ohana that way a few times and Chef Mickeys too!

I have heard lots of people with very great BOG experiences! I think if D had been feeling a little better, I might have been less anxious and enjoyed it more! I'll probably talk them into going again one day. . .though it may take D a while! ;)

That is definitely him!! His sarcasm was so awesome, and he is definitely "pretty"! ;) Love the awesome CMs!! :thumbsup2

I learned two big lessons on the trip we just finished. 1) don't assume we are not going to like something based on others opinions - I had crossed so much off our list because I assumed we would not like it. We tried several of those this trip just because we had so much time and with the exception of one we enjoyed them all. 2) Having tried something it is ok to say it just wasn't for us even if it goes against the way the majority of people feel.

Love the Princess Pictures.

Congrats on getting the last minute ressie for Chef Mickey. Its always awesome to get a sprinkle of pixiedust:

I've enjoyed following your trip report. We stayed at the Wilderness Lodge in February and fell in love with the resort. We were with our grandchildren, age 3 and 5, and we had similar experiences traveling with a preschooler. Our 3 year old granddaughter was an interesting travel companion. She was endearing and adorable one minute, and then rather difficult another time. But it was also fun.

We have reservations for dinner at BOG in December, so I was really glad to see your report. I've been worried that dinner would be less than awesome and have been tempted to just go there for lunch, instead. We'll see what happens.

How disapointnig with BOG. Is it maybe becuase it's still so new they need to figure a few more things out?

At least you've seen it and now you know it's not really your thing. Love the CM and the pixi dust.

You are SO right!! We have discovered the same thing. . .sometimes we like things that others don't like. Other times, things that are super-terrific to most people just don't work for us. What's wonderful about WDW is that it has so much stuff, something is bound to be perfect for us or perfect for someone else!

Yes, getting the ADR was definitely a nice surprise!!

Isn't WL wonderful? We just love it!! I completely understand the 3-year-old thing! It's always fun to see their perspective on it. . .no matter how old they are! I have a friend who did BOG lunch. She really enjoyed it. . .I don't know if it would be better for lunch or what! I hope it is wonderful in December for you! :goodvibes

Great update! :cool1:

Thank you!! :)

I am glad we went, just so I can say we've been and I know it's not for us. I have read of others having awesome experiences there, so it may just be us!

Keith and the pixie dust were wonderful! I love how CMs just really make it fun!

I got up EARLY EARLY EARLY on Saturday morning so I could get ready. Then I got the boys up, and we headed to the boat launch to get to the Contemporary. It was about 6:25 or so, and I text a pic of us to my Mom while we were waiting. Now, my mom is not a Disney person, and she replied, “Do you KNOW you are on vacation? Why in the WORLD are you up at this time? By the way, D looks cute.” :rotfl:

The boat came promptly at 6:30, and off we went to the Contemporary. This was D’s first Disney boat ride, and he LOVED it! Another score for Disney transportation!

On a side note, we wore our Star Wars tees this day. After a 2nd text pic to my Mom, I got back: “WHAT does your shirt mean? I don’t understand. That’s weird.” :rotfl:

We were on the boat with another family, and at the end, the ship’s driver gave the kids Disney Boat stickers. D was excited!

We arrived at the Contemporary in about 15 minutes or so. As we walked in, we took a few pics. . .not the best pics since it was early and still dark!

Pics done, it was time to head up to Chef Mickey’s!!

I'm so sorry that Be Our Guest wasn't a great experience. I think healthy choices for kids are amazing, but that menu is a little challenging. If I were you I'd have been furious that the CM told you not to bother to bring your own chicken strips with you. We all know that when the little ones aren't enjoying their meal, no one is.

I'm not a morning person by any means, but 6:45 is about what time we get moving at WDW too! There's simply too much to do to lay in bed all day! :goodvibes

I can not believe that D the lover of mass transportation waited until now for his first boat ride. I bet he was :cloud9:. Coming over in the dark probably made it even better.

Funny about what your mom said about your shirts. As you know we were there for two weeks for SWW and I saw those shirts everywhere. I was well into the first week before I finally said to my DH "I have no idea what those shirts mean... they are weird!". :lmao: I did not even realize they were Star Wars shirts. So I guess I am with your mom in the land of those clueless when it comes to Star Wars.

You got some good pictures even in the dark. Can't wait to see how Breakfast went.

I do love that they offer healthy choices for kids, too! I like the ability to "sneak" the healthy stuff in! ;) I thought it would've been better if the CM had said, "There's NO way to get them." so I would've been prepared, but now I know! ;)

That's what I told my mom--there's just too much to do to sleep in! You gotta get moving!!

I know--it didn't hit me until we got on the boat that he had never ridden one, but he was alllllll over it! He still talks about it!

I kidded Mom about that forever, until I realized that I'm not even sure she's ever seen Star Wars, plus if you can't see the back, it doesn't really make sense!

We are headed up to Pigeon Forge tonight for an overnight--I am hoping to catch up on your TR while we are there!!

Thanks again for reading along, y'all!! Updates coming below!!

We checked in about 7:05, and got our buzzer. The guys headed over to the couches to watch “Mickey Mouse Clubhouse”.

Our buzzer went off quickly, and we were off to our table. . .but first, a picture!

We were in the big room with the “abstract” stuff on the wall. D LOVES Chef Mickey’s, so he was glad to be back there!

We got our food, and then the characters started coming. We were at a table in the middle, so it was a little difficult to do pictures, but of course, we managed! They came quickly, one right after the other. . .Goofy, Mickey, Donald, Minnie, and Pluto! In between, we made quick runs for food (and for more of Minnie’s breakfast pizza. . .yummalicious!) We even had to get Bri’s pic made with Donald!

Our server even brought the guys a cupcake during the celebration part. Yep. . .that sugar was good to keep D going!!

We headed out right after that to get to MK in time for the OPENING SHOW!!! Love those early ADR’s!!
