Pirate party vs Buccaneer Blast?

I have seen reports lately of changing the pirate party and making it early, goofy, sing along, and messing up people's dinner plans and getting rid of the buffet.

I found a recent navigator for the Fantasy from Scott's blog and it has a pritate party and then at 10:15 a buccaneer blast. Is the early pirate party the kid version and the buccaneer blast more adult, or closer to the old party?

We are on the Wonder in a few months and was really looking forward to pirate night and everyone getting dressed up like we have in the past.

The early party is the "family friendly" show (mickey, et al). The Buccaneer Blast is the more Pirate-oriented show followed by the fireworks. I see the Navigator posted doesn't really show fireworks as going to happen, but it's usually been at the end of the late show.

That's on the Dream class ships. The most recent Wonder Navigator that I could find for the fall/winter (Dec 2017) only had one "Pirate Party" at 7:30. In the past, on the Magic class ships there was only one Pirate show followed by fireworks after the late dinner.

We were on the Wonder this past March for an EC cruise. We had pirate party with Mickey and friends. Pirates took over ship. They also played a lot of 80s rock music (Bon Jovi). I loved it, I was in high school in late 80s. My 9 yr old dd hated it, said it was old people music. It started around 7:30 followed by fireworks. No later pirate shows/activities. Only thing I didn't like was we had early dinner and had to rush dessert to get to the party.
