what is the most recent enforced policy on this for the Fantasy ? We leave on 11-26 but hubby wants a sword to go with his costume. Its our 4th cruise but the first time dressing up. TIA

I thought I saw kids handed swords however I think they were the foam ones and I thought I saw them for sale onboard too

Could be wrong though

We brought foam swords onboard without issue. We bought them at Target, in their party section.

I carried packed plastic swords on in February on the Dream. They were in checked luggage.

Lots of people had them all different kinds on the Fantasy. Kids were even having sword fights and having lots of fun.

Sorry to nitpick, but "carried on" and "checked luggage" are two different things. Carrying something on refers to whatever you would carry yourself onto the ship and presumably keep with you until your stateroom is ready, checked luggage refers to whatever you leave behind in the terminal to be dropped off outside your room. You can't really carry something on if it's also been checked in.

We packed our plastic swords and plastic light sabers in our checked luggage on our last SWAS cruise. No problems.

So plastic swords are NOT considered replicas of weapons under DCL's "prohibited items"?
The last cruise we were on was December 2015 and they sold them on board, including plastic toy pirate guns.
I thought all that got banned in the new year?

My daughter did Pirates League at BBB on the Dream in December and part of the package was a plastic sword.

Thank you all sounds like he gets his sword we got out pirate costumes ready to go sword and all LOL

We just got off the Dream and they sold plastic swords in the store onboard.

In November I brought a plastic sword for my costume with no problem.

Yay! I was just wondering what the current policy was this morning. My DD and I brought plastic swords on our 2012 and 2013 cruises but thought the policy had changed so as to ban them. Very happy that I was wrong!

I Packed into my checked baggage. I'll make the edit.
