Pirate Menu Changing This Week

It's just not possible. Generally, they don't serve any truly spicy food to guests. The spiciest condiment that is regularly available to guests is Tabasco. However, they stock sambal oelek in the crew galley, so I usually request to have some on the table at dinner.

This is true of the standard menu items. However, if you order a special dish off menu from the galley ahead of time (e.g. Indian food), they will prepare it extra spicy on request, and it will have plenty of heat. I can take pretty spicy food, but even I have found some these special dishes to be hot enough for me to reach for milk.

Another one where Pirate Night menu was my least favourite. Considered booking Palo for our upcoming cruise but my DD loves going to Pirate Night so that won't be happening. Hoping the menu change keeps those dishes people enjoyed and offers new stuff to replace the items that were rarely ordered. Excited to hear about the changes!

The Pirate menu we had when we first sailed Disney was my favorite. Then they changed it and we didn't like it anymore. Curious to see what it is next year when we are on the Magic.

I have always enjoyed the pirate night menu; however, it is nice to see it updated. It looks like the new menu has plenty of tasty options.

Do you have a link for the new menu?

Hey guys! We had this menu on the Oct 3rd sailing of the Dream. I Loved the samosas, didn't care for the crab cake (I like more of a lump crab cake, this one had the shredded consistency) the grouper was yummy, my son loved the pasta, hubby enjoyed the strip loin, but for me the highlight of the meal was the dessert! Oh my! The caramel macadamia cheesecake tart was probably the best thing I ate for the whole cruise....save room for that one if cheesecake is your cup of tea. Overall, it was a great meal though.

Take care!

Sadly whoever sent in the pictures didn't take one of the desserts. I thought I'd read those weren't changing, but that think you described doesn't sound familiar. I'll probably end up with a Mickey bar anyway. :/

Scott has updated the blog post and there is now the dessert menu.

Thanks!

ETA: Like I said... Mickey bar. Or I will become a Palo on Pirate Night girl. Sad.
No Sweet Temptations!!!!

The Fruit Cobbler and Rum-soaked Chocolate cake are from the old menu. And the Sundae is renamed from "Crunch Time Sundae" to "Pirate's Treasure Sundae".

They replaced the Floating Island with Bananas in Paradise.

They'll give you a menu at dinner.

We just got off the Fantasy and were the first to try the new menu. We thought the Baked Brie Brioche was mostly brioche and not much brie...didn't like it. The Shrimp pint was kind of strange...4 shrimp in a beer much with lettuce and caviar. it was layered and not like a typical Shrimp Cocktail. Myself and another lady both ordered the grouper and didn't like it at all. Just very dry and the arepas were terrible.

Then I asked to try the Shanghai Noodles and wasn't happy with it either. Very plain and bland. Our server said that the first seating people weren't happy with many of the items either.

Dessert was definitely delicious. That macadamia nut cheesecake was yummy

This is disappointing. The noodles and baked brie were the two items I was most interested in. I wonder if the issues were ship specific. I read a post on another cruising forum by someone who thought the new pirate menu was the best meal of the week. (I don't recall which ship they were on). In any event, I hope that they work out any execution issues because many of the new menu items sound good to me on paper.

Sorry. I hope that they'll improve them by the time you're on it Or maybe your taste buds are different and you'll enjoy them. I don't mean to spoil it for you. Three of our table mates did have the Lamb and they loved it.

WOW, either Disney rushed this menu to the point that they did not taste test it thoroughly, or they just don't give a hoot about their quality! Either way, not a good sign.

I was going to go for the grouper, but maybe I'll go with lamb instead!

The macadamia cheesecake sounds right up my alley though!
