Pirate cruise or albatross cruise

My DDs took the pirate cruise in 2000 when they were 8 and 5. DS was only 2 and too young. Now he is 8 and the only one young enough to go this year! The albatross cruise is new to me. Any opinions on which one is more fun for a pirate-loving 8 year old, whose two favorite movies are "Pirates of the Caribbean" and "Treasure Planet"?
BTW we are at the Poly--one concern I would have is how to get to the Boardwalk area by 9:15, resort to resort transport is slow.

Simply for the sake of ease, I would recommend the Pirate Cruise since you can just hop the monorail. Dd will be doing the Pirate Cruise in October and I chose it so I could hang out at the GF for 2 hours and get a manicure!
