Who else wants one?:confused3

Many mention it on other threads. I know that I would love, LOVE, LOVE!!!! to take my DS to a more boy themed character meal. I could just picture it...Jack Sparrow et al from PoTC and Peter Pan charcters...How cool would that be?:cool1: :cool1: :cool1:

Let's talk it up and see if Disney notices and answers our prayers!!

Any ideas?popcorn::

I know that some of us got surveys last year about this very subject from Disney.

For your son? Yeah right. You just want to say you had dinner with Jack Sparrow!!!!!!! pirate:

sounds like a good idea to me...

ohhh i would love that!
they have a princess one...why not a pirate one?

My DD and I would love this. It would be so great if they could do this before we get there in Sept. HEY DISNEY!!! WE LOVE PIRATES!!!

Great idea -- but while we're at it, I need to throw out my long-wished-for idea of a Toy Story character meal.
Imagine the reaction of Mr. Potato Head watching your kids eat fries!

Oooo I like the Toy Story idea too!

When you start to look at the offerings for characters, it seems that classic Disney (Mickey, Minnie, etc) is well covered. Princesses are well covered. There are a scattering of other characters as well, Pooh and friends, Stitch and Lilo, etc, but the big lack is for a character is that is really targeted to the boys. I know my son likes dressing up a lot, and would love to get all decked out for a boy themed character meal.

I would love to see a pirate themed meal hosted by Jack Sparrow with the characters from Peter Pan: Peter, Hook and Smee and for the girls Tink and and Wendy.pirate:

:goodvibes Sign me up!!!

It would be a great character meal for boys because, well, princesses are not quite their cup of tea!

And it would be a great character meal for mommas...because we need our eye candy too!!!

I would have breakfast, lunch AND dinner with Jack Sparrow (every day!)

Don't forget Ms. Swann and the Tortuga wenches for the Dad's.

We would love this. My two sons (DS8 and DS5) are increasingly obsessed with Jack Sparrow and they haven't even seen the movies (I need to start another thread about what age is reasonable to let your kids watch those movies). They have the chapter books and that's how they know about Jack. . .and the toys. . .and the posters. . .

MK needs another TS restaurant--they should convert La Pirata and have a Jack Sparrow/Peter Pan character breakfast there.

I don't have any kids, I would love it for me!:lmao:

Same here...DS loves Jack Sparrow and in fact, was Jack for Halloween:banana: ...but we have never let him watch the movies...we thought about renting and doing some parental fast forwarding (which we did for the first Spiderman), but don't think that would work for PoTC.:sad2:

Lovin the idea of converting La Pirata:thumbsup2 . From what I understand, that CS is closed half the time anyway...what a waste of valuable real estate!

Yeah, the films are pg-13. I don't think there's questionable language but the skeleton special effects would probably frighten younger kids. At the same time I'm dealing with lots of questions like: why does Jack care so much about his hat and what does 'savvy' mean?

The underuse of that restaurant space just seems a huge waste to me. They should have refurbed it when they refurbed the POTC ride--then you'd have two major new attractions right there together. . .

I seriously think Disney is underestimating the pirate pull for boys. My oldest used to complain there was no boy equivalent for all the stuff with the princesses and he was aware of this when he was 6! The last time we visited WDW we took our boys to the Swiss Family Robinson treehouse and I told them that movie had been one of my favorites when I was their age--the only reason they were willing to watch it on DVD was that it had pirates.

Disney--come on! You're missing a treasure chest here!

I got this from Magical Mountain:

Tortuga Coming To Disney's Magic Kingdom
Pirates will be invading more of the Magic Kingdom soon. Rumors have been confirmed that a restaurant will open up near the Swiss Family Treehouse and that it will have a pirate theme The working name of this place Tortuga. In keeping with all of the Princess and Pirate activities around the park now, they felt adding a pirate themed restaurant that would appeal to boys would make it complete. There are currently two princess dining establishments.

Hopefully they will offer a character meal of some sorts. I have been surprised too that there is limited offerings of Pirate Themed things for those who love Pirates and for boys.

Hopefully this will change....

There are rumors on Screamscape about a pirate theme restaurant, so I'm hoping...

It would be really cool to have a Peter Pan breakfast for the younger set and a PotC dinner for the older kids/adults. Something for everyone, and finally something for the boys to get excited about. :)

ETA: I found this site that has a blurb about the rumors (scroll down to the March 25 entry) - http://www.arondaparks.com/News91706.htm

We all know how Disney rumors can be so take it for what it is, but it made me :cheer2: . I wonder if it is too much to ask for it to be open for late Aug 2008? :goodvibes
