Hey- has anyone heard if they are going to do the Pirate and Princess Party in 2009? We went in January and had the BEST time. I am now currently planning another trip for next year, and I do not know if they will be doing it again. It was so good; I would plan my next trip around the dates. Has any one heard? Does anyone know when WDW releases info about things like this?
Thanks Rachael -Ma

I don't know the dates but am curious what you liked so much that is bringing you back just for the Pirate and Princess? Which age range is the best geared to (in your opinion)?

I do not know any dates, but it is comming back, as Disney have the Princess 1/2 marathon for the first time next year, and that includes a P&P event.

We are going in Jan/Feb. no matter what, but I have been looking for the 2009 dates for the Pirate and Princess Party because I would plan my reservations around their dates. This year it was in Jan/Feb/Mar on select nights and then they added April and May. I would say it is geared toward everyone. The party invites adults and kids to dress as pirates and princesses, though only my kids dressed up. The kids are given loot bags and at every X marks the spot they are given jewels and candy for their loot bag. (There are a lot of X marks the spot.) The parade was one of the best I have seen at Disney and the firework show "Mayhem and Magic" was the best firework show I have ever seen inside or out of Disney. The princesses are all over the park to meet and Jack Sparrow is there too! My 4-year-old pirate and 6-year-old princess LOVED it. It runs 7-midnight though they let you in with the ticket at 4. Yes, this is a separate admission ticket- but it is worth it. The admission to the party is limited so there were no crowds. I realize we do not go at a real crowded time but we went on rides like Buzz, both the mountains, pirates of the caribbean, over and over again with no lines to wait in. My parents were with us and while they watched the kids my husband and I went on space 3 times never waiting in a line. We went on buzz 6 times in a row! I cannot say enough good things about it! AllEars.net has a great right up on it!

I have been twice now to a Pirate and Princess Party, both 2007 and 2008. We go in January, just like that time of year so the parties were a bonus. I concur, the parade is awesome and different then any other party parade. And the fireworks....well lets just say the idea of the Castle getting bombarded with POTC movie music swirling around you.....was very cool.

And the idea of adults dressing up as well as kids brings the child out of you. I have a very cool pic of DH, DD2, our friends and I all dressed in full out pirate, (captains coats, feather plumes, ladies in corsets) standing in front of the revolutionary era hearth at the Liberty Tree Inn where we had dinner. Where else would I be able to get that lovely memory. Also I have a great pic of DH and Captain Mickey all decked out together.

Yes I would say I highly recommend this even, it is worth every penny!

I am hoping they release the dates soon as well. We managed to get to the last P&PP on June 4. We had the best time! My DD loved collecting loot around the park, they just did plastic gems and beads this time, no candy. The parade was AMAZING, I would have loved to have seen the fireworks but we were having a very special experience in the judge's tent in Toontown, we were in line to see Minnie dressed as a princess and found ourselves in the room alone with Minnie, Dopey, 2 photopass photographers, and a character handler. My DD was having way too much fun in there with Minnie and Dopey to worry about the fireworks, I did see the last one where they go all around the park.

We LOVE all the parties, we've done the Halloween Party, Christmas Party and were very excited to find out we would be able to do the P&PP.

My DD is 4 and loved it. We also make a point of doing the things that are only available at the party. We can come back and ride the rides another time, but we made sure to hit all the treasure spots, meet all the characters, like Captain Jack, who are only out during the party, and enjoy the special shows and parades, if we manage to do all of that and ride a few rides then that's all the more bonus.

I too am hoping that they extend the P&PP to May 2009 like they did this year. My family had a great time this year and have already booked next years trip. If there was a P&PP during that time, it would just be icing on the cake. :cake:

oh---I hope there is one in Feb!!! I will be looking for it!
