You too! I have a Wally World a stones throw away from my house and seem to hit that place more often than I like during a weeks time, but I looooove going to Target and TJ Maxx. Marshalls is another favorite of mine, much like TJ Maxx.

LOL Melissa...we don't have any stores like that around us, so I'm all about finding reasons to hit them! It's like a little celebration when we get to go to Tar-jaaaay or TJ Maxx...

I got a pm from a very generous Dis'er last night offering to pick up the cost for Piper to get her makeover done at BBB and was able to book an appt for her this morning! She was totally excited and is soooo looking forward to it. I continue to be amazed by what is virtually the "kindness of strangers" although none of you feel like strangers to either of us, more like a part of our extended family. It's hard for me sometimes to accept the help we've been given gracefully and not decline out of....I don't know..pride? embarassment? But at the same time I know these things are going to make the trip even better for Piper, and I've been trying to keep that in the forefront when those feelings start to kick in. So to everyone who has helped make our trip better (which basically means all of you).. thank you, again. I do have something special planned for thank you's when we get back, but I feel like I could never say it enough, so hopefully you all won't get tired of reading it over and over again!

We loved it, Mary, and the gift card was perfect! This trip has all come together so much better than I ever thought it could be, mostly because of these boards. It's odd to think that six months ago I didn't even know about the Dis.

Wowee wowee wowzers! You guys are sooooo blessed and lucky!!! Your going to have a blast and a half! Aleks wanted to do the BBB when we went too, but we couldn't afford it either. I kinda hope she will get to do it on our next trip, but we canceled this years trip already - so i dunno. I think Aleks understands the being broke part, but it hurts just the same when you're always told no i am sure. At least on your trip there won't have to be too many "no's"! I know Aleks wants to do the pirate "treasure hunt" trip too. That kid can't decide between a pirate or princess!

I know we are! Hopefully on your next trip, Aleks will be able to experience either BBB or the treasure hunt : I'm really going to try to turn off my "tightwad" button this trip, which will be very weird, but I'm looking forward to it also.

I'm glad Piper was gifted a trip to the BBB...I did it with 2 friends who are also 40-something and we had a blast! When I returned 2 weeks later with my girls the FGIT remembered us! There isn't specifically a Jasmine-do, but the one with the hair extension can have her crown added...my middle DD chose this one and we still use it for q fancier night out. The photopass guys are there, so you'll get plenty of pics, which I know you'll share!

That's so awesome, Nanci! I want to see pics Gram and I were talking tonight, I said I was going to need more than one memory card for my camera, and she's all.."but, why?" I didn't tell her there were people who take more than 500 pics on a trip!

Hey Piper!! you looked awesome in your disco Mickey skirt and top!!! you will rock the parks in that outfit!! And Mom and Grandmom too!!! Hey - you gotta wear the sweatshirt now so you can tell people about your trip
!! I also wanted you to know that once I took a light colored shirt (like our sweatshirt ) to disney and got the characters to autograph it with Sharpie markers!! It was so totally cool!! You just cant be wearing it when they sign it!!

So, you are going to give me the low down when you get home so I can make sure Daniel enjoys everything when we are there, right? All the tips you can thing of!! Things you didnt expect and things not to miss!!!

Funny story from tonight..we had gone to Gram's this afternoon to visit. Her driveway is all downhill and gravel, so a man plows just enough out for her to park. With the jeep, it's fine for me to park with the 4-wheel drive, but we're always surrounded by snow/ice when we get in and out of the car. I have told her numerous times in the past few days she couldn't wear her crocs because it's slick. She asks again today, and I finally cave, and say "fine". So we're leaving, it's dark..I go to her side to open her door and fall and bust my keister on the way. Piper sees me fall and immediately starts laughing. I tell her "you need to ask if someone is okay before you start to...." when BAM! down she goes right behind me. I ask if she's okay, she says yes, I start laughing..and out pops "I guess that's what I get for laughing, huh, Mom?" I had to share because I just love it! So we get in, get home safely..I'm getting stuff out of the jeep when I hear a loud thud. Sure enough, she had gone down again! LOL. This time she says.."Mom..is this karma for me laughing at you?" quickly followed by "I'm never wearing my crocs in the snow again!" Gotta love it when a lesson gets through that quickly without a lecture!

We took our DGD's in October for the first time and the one thing that made me cry was when we went in the gate and they saw the castle for the first time....their faces just lit up. You just can't explain the excitement. Piper is going to have the time of her life. I can't wait to see pictures of your trip.

My girls don't even know that BBB exists, and frankly I'm not sure either one would enjoy it. Phoebe HATES people messing with her hair, and Tessa would get bored after 30 seconds. I have thought about the Barber shop, just because I think it would be fun to be sparkly, or maybe even buying some glitter spray and do it myself? Anyone know where to get that type of thing when it's not Halloween?

Aw, you're so sweet. I also loved your hospital story, because I find more and more that we all have something that we can relate to in each other, and that is what makes life great. Building friendships, especially based on the moments that are the most difficult.

Every time my husband lips off at me he gets a cramp in his foot or does something like spill food on his shirt, something that he hates. I of course being the good wife only raise an eyebrow and look away as he says, "You never have to do anything to get me back!" I say...."Nope! What goes around comes around, just in your case it seems to happen almost instantly!"

Those type of moments make life a lot easier for both of us, I think!

It does doesn't it?!? My DH calls those moments "Self correcting." You know like getting a sunburn or tripping when you don't tie your shoes.

We were out and about running errands yesterday when Gram called to let me know we had another package! Piper was very excited and wanted to stop what we were doing and go right then..I guess she was afraid it might get lonely! :lol: So we finished up what we had to do, and off to Gram's we went. The package was from mcazer, Margaret, a wonderful Dis'er who has been making autograph books for wish kids. Piper, as always, was quite anxious to investigate said package further..I opened the outer box, and she got started:

Oh my goodness...it's pictures of scenes from Aladdin....but wait a minute..that doesn't look like Jasmine's face...as Piper so succinctly put it "Mommy!! It's my face, it's me! it's me!"

I hope the detail comes out some in the posted pic, if not, I'l try to get a better picture..there were 4 scenes altogether..and all I have to do is look at one to start giggling..they are just soooooooooooo cute! She had also enclosed a "special person" button, and Disney guide pamphlet for yours truly, that will both go on the trip with us. :

Now it was time to start the other box!

A tiara..how perfect for a princess!

This little bag had all kinds of goodies..costume jewelry, a jasmine pin, stickers, and tattoos. Piper has already announced that though Jasmine may accompany us on the trip, she will not leave the lanyard!

As Piper was pulling this out, she was saying "I know what this is!!" very excitedly. When Margaret contacted me, she told us to go to her e-bay site and let Piper choose 2 autograph books she liked. Being Mommy's practical girl..the first one she chose was:

An Epcot World Passport book! On the cover it says "Around the World In A Day With Piper". The personalization worked well for Piper, naturally! The book is divided into sections for all the different countries inside..very cool.

Ohh, what's this?

It's a Jasmine themed autograph book, of course, complete with a Jasmine kooky pen..and again...Piper's name, and even a photo of Piper on the inside!

And last but not least, a pic of all the goodies..there were also slipper socks, socks, a magic wand, a very cute stuffed pink puppy, a Sleeping Beauty polly pocket type doll..Margaret just really spoiled her...does that theme sound familiar?

Margaret, thank you so much, Piper loooooved the autograph books and Aladdin pics so much..I've already decided I'm going to look for one of the 4-slotted picture frames to put them in so we can hang them in her room. We're also going to use one for our Christmas card this year, with an inside caption of "Hoping you have a magical holiday season". I know all our friends and family will love seeing it!

As a sidebar, if anyone is planning a trip and needs/wants autograph books, please just shoot me a pm and I'll link you to Margaret's e-bay page..she has over 100 different autograph book designs, and the cases she makes have straps that can hold lanyards, and even a slot for a pen! The books truly are beautiful and one of a kind.
