Has anyone had any problems lately with carrying trading pins on? In the past I haven't had any problems, but I'm trying to be proactive for an upcoming trip. Thanks.

I have not flown with mine, but I have seen this topic come up a lot with the upcoming Trade City event. Everyone is carrying theirs on board. Most people are actually scared of checking them for fear of loss or theft! So, I say carry them!!

We just came back Tuesday night and there was no problem with pins on the carry-ons at all. Every pin was carried on for the reason stated in the post above - we didn't want them to get lost or stolen.

I travelled out of Newark NJ to ORLANDO and the TSA 'inspected them and scanned them a second time but I had zero isses and I was carrying well over 200 traders.

Coming home from ORLANDO the TSA is well aware of pins and they scanned them like regular kuggage and we were off.

I did have the pins in a separe bag to make things easier but they did not give me any grief.

I've carried my pins on in the past and as stated, I haven't had problems. My husband was a little concerned if anything has recently changed with the TSA. I also, put the pins in a large ziplock bag and put them in the bin. This way TSA can see them clearly. I don't want to deal with them going through my carry-on. I am aware of pins being stolen out of checked baggage. :sad2:

We have never had a problem taking the pins as carry on. TSA will almost always open the pin bag and go though each page though.

the only issue i had was i didnt take them out of my carry on bag when i went thru screening and they had to completley unpack my carry on

so i would do just like a computer pull your book or what ever out of your carry on unzip it and send it thru seprate
