Heading to DLRP in June, and wondering what the pintrading situation is like. Are there designated areas that are frequented by guests looking to trade, and are there many guests looking to trade? What about cast lanyards? Any particular locations better than others for finding them? Finally, are WDW pins regarded well? Any info would be great! Thanks!

There a five 'super trading ' stations , which I have learned thanks to answering Caroline's quiz the other night. The official website has a link.

Many CMs have lanyards, but mostly they will all have the same pins. I didn't find that many guests that were trading; I ended up buying pins from DLP to trade during my next visit to DL

I like to buy pins, but so far I have not traded. In a shop on Main Street there was a CM who had a board of pins up, and you could trade any pin with him, as long as it was not already on the board, for one on the board.

The pin trading boards you can trade 2 pins and they have an LE section. You can find loads of different pins but you need to look every where. We came home with over 100 new traded pins. We spend a lot of time looking at pins and following CM's around. Cast lanyard pins are very difficult to find but that makes finding them all the better. There is a monthly evening where they trade and sell some limited edition pins but they only announce this about 4 weeks before. We have traded with the occasional guest and sometimes french pin traders with big collections come at the weekend and stay near the central hub more so in the summer. There is a high demand there for DA pins as Their postage is so expensive to europe that we tend not to buy DA pins.
We are the sort of family who have to remember to ride between pin trades. The Pin Trading boards can also be found near the big pin trading shop( See this month's quiz) in Fantasyland and in the front lot of the studios. Ask in city hall about times or in the emporium. ( Their time at present seems to be 6pmish )
