Pin Trading in the disney stores

Any trading this weekend?

Me & my friend headed to the Trafford Centre store yesterday and have to report, there wasn't much to trade at all. I only traded for an older Disney Store UK pin of Lightning McQueen, they had no others, except for the core UK pins on there.

went to the disney store yesterday and they only had one lanyard out with pins to trade and it was so busy I didn't like to stop the cm to take a look, I must buy more pins so I can trade on my next visit :goodvibes

Haha - so cool! I traded a little Mickey back, which my friend then picked up. I had a little Minnie also, but I like her too much to trade her :thumbsup2

Went to the London MCM expo today, but low and behold, in the least Disney place... there was a stall selling Disney Pins!!!!

I got 2 more of the "Wild About Safety" series, and a new pin bag, since mine is severly overcrowded...

Although the pins were incredibly overpriced...

I shall start on my frame soon too!

London MCM is the biyearly gathering of games, anime, magna, movies and everything related. Lots of stores and independant dealers set up stalls selling related stuffs, and is good, because usually, you find stuff you normally wouldn't find online, etc.

Also, started sorting out my pins last night, found out one that I actually really liked was a scrapper pin :( but now have lots of tubs and food bags separating different sets and characters so they can be neatly arranged into the bags...
I also cannot decide which pins to put in my frame! I was going to make a stitch or pirates frame, but I have too many to fit in the frame for both themes!

Also, forgot to mention, I've updated my PinPics page. I'm GhostInTheSnow btw.

Love your collection! :thumbsup2 I adore Stitch too and I love to collect his pins, I don't have many at present, but I'll keep working on getting ones with him on!

No trading for me this weekend, I've been at a wedding. Not sure when I'm there next either, will update once I've been back on any trading :thumbsup2

I went to Manchester today to see what was going in the way of trading and I got an XR from Buzz cartoon series alphabet hidden mickey pin I'm made up with him :) I also got Jaffar from the villians series which is a wonderful pin!

I was in the Guildford store last weekend & the CMs are wearing lanyards now, only of the UK ones (so far!)
I bought a Stitch one, with a hawaiian guitar - and the CM who served me said it was her favourite one!?

i now have stitch & nemo ready to, possibly, begin trading in July!!

:) That XR pin was one of mine! I splashed out on eBay for the full set of Alphabet pins (Worked out at like £2.10 a pin, which wasn't too bad), so any of those you see in Manchester, they're most likely the ones I've traded.

It's great to know there are other pin traders enjoying the trading in the UK Disney Stores. I've just joined DIS just so I can share my pin trading experiences.

I live in London, and been taking advantage of the four stores within a bus ride (don't hate me, we Londoners pay a hefty price for these bonuses) - most CM in stores in the beginning were very confused about the entire process, and I've already met one CM who tried to tell me I had already traded one pin and in the interest of fairness to other customers I can't trade any more, and another CM who got into PT because of the new Disney Store trading convinced me to trade pins she liked, as she planned to buy some core pins to trade for them after her shift. She was lovely, and I didn't mind at all. All in all, trading is quite fruitful and fun in London, though I make sure I don't visit each store too frequently to give them a chance to refresh the lanyards. One CM in Covent Garden estimated that they see at least one pin trader stop by a day.

The only annoying part of trading in London is the number of CM who ask me if I work for Disney (I carry a distinct American accent)... That's still better than the at-my-discrimination trading I met quite regularly in DLRP ("Because I like my pin, I will only trade it for that pin on your lanyard I also like, no others")

But most of all I want to share this story - in the Covent Garden Disney Store (lovely little place), when I went by on Saturday with some pins, I was shown a lanyard with 11 pins (not a bad selection, some HM, but nothing caught my fancy), and when asked about the "other lanyard" (most CM tell me there's always 2 CM lanyards per store) the lady went away for a while before returning to say the other lanyard was EMPTY! That, together with the 11 pins on the first lanyard, made me wonder how trading resulted in 13 missing pins... Correct me if I'm wrong, but I thought CM lanyards must always carry 12 pins?

anyone trading this weekend? hopefully guna be going to trade and to get my DD the new ones that are out :D will keep you guys informed on how i get on :wizard:

I haven't really traded for much lately, as the lanyards tend to only have core pins on them these days. :) Today though I did trade for a cute pin of Chip as a cowboy. Also today I bought the latest pin in the Villains series (Madam Mim) and two of the new Lion King pin. The new Lion King pin is only £3, even though it's Limited Edition of 800, so I bet they'll sell quick!
