You dont have to be wearing your pins that you are trading on a lanyard. I mostly have them in my pocket or in my small pin trading bag.

@ Tinks1984 - I was looking for suitable frames yesterday but I couldn't find any! I did however see a nice sized corkboard in Tesco for just £2.50, so I might just buy that so that I can spread my pins around a bit. I don't like them looking all cramped.

I might head to the Trafford Centre today to see if they've got any decent pins for trading. :)

I really would like to make one of those frames now, but I'm bogged down with uni work, and so its not a good time to get distracted. Its about time my pin bag got a good shuffle, since the pins are having to overflow onto A4 felt sheets as make shift pages. Also, I have little space to actually hang up stuff, so if I do make one, I would try and make a desk size one, so it can sit on shelf with my disney stuff!

Also, I need to figure out a way to display 5 jumbo pins, 2 with hinges...

The frames I have I got from Wilkinsons, they were available on-line too last time I checked. They're box frames when searching. I never thought of using a cork board though, so I may check out Tesco too.

Let us know how you get on at The Trafford Centre if you go, it'd be interesting to see what they have on theirs, Liverpool didn't have many non-core pins at all at the weekend :sad2:

i'm off liverpool saturday with non core pins, hopefully they will have some more i can trade, if not ill just take them with us on sunday princess:

I'm also going to Liverpool at the weekend so between all of us we should have some decent pins putting on there for each other :thumbsup2

Trading at the Trafford Centre was very much the same as everywhere else. All there was on the lanyard was store bought pins except for about 2. I then popped into the Manchester store before work and it was more of the same.

:) On the bright side though, I managed to pick up a couple of frames from Pound Land. :lmao: My frame looks nowhere near as nice as Tink's, but it does the job. The card I stuck them on is what I cut out from a cereal box. I'm so cheap. The pins I put in it are just some of my faves. It was a very very snug fit, so I couldn't include any 3D/pin-on-pin pins.

I love your frame! :thumbsup2 It looks great, there's some fantastic pins in there too. I never thought of using cardboard from a cereal box either!

Sorry to hear about the lanyards in-store, I was hoping they may have changed some of them about from the core pins. I'll be going Sunday to the Trafford Centre, so I'll report back once I've been :) Fingers crossed!

DD got right into collecting pins but hasn't ever pin traded. I think she's always been too shy to do it in Disney World. I wonder if our local Disney store are trading pins :confused3

masamune - i love your frame and pins very creative :thumbsup2 love the rescuers pin :lovestruc

@ Tinks - :) Like I said, yours looks much better. I didn't really have a choice in regards to what card to use because of what a tight fit it was. I almost couldn't get the back of the frame back on!

Good luck in the Trafford Centre! I'm in town again tomorrow so I'll most likely pop into the Manchester store again just incase.

@ irongirl - :goodvibes Thanks, but it was Tinks' idea to begin with. :rotfl: I just made a cheaper version. The Bernard and Bianca pin is actually one of the very first pins I traded for. I got into pin trading when I visited Disneyland Paris for my 18th birthday, and that pin was one of the first I traded for. It's a Disneyland Paris cast lanyard exclusive.

And here's my second frame! I think I'm gonna buy 2 more of these from Pound Land, and that should be enough.

The best way to find out is by calling the store. If you can get your local store's number off the internet, give them a quick call and then they'll be able to tell you over the phone.

If when you get instore, after they've confirmed they're trading, and you cannot see the CM's wearing the lanyards, just ask one of them behind the counter, they sometimes have them layed out behind there :thumbsup2

Most are quite friendly when it comes to trading, it's very new to them, so they find it really interesting when you get chatting to them. I'm sure your DD would be fine :)

@Masamune - Love the 2nd frame, I esp. like the Stitch with the flower - how cute :goodvibes

me too :cool1:

We are off to Peterborough on Saturday as we noticed the other week that the dis store is trading pins and the staff there are really nice :thumbsup2 we have a 2 pins that dd12 wants to trade.

I have also brought some from USA on ebay to trade in WDW. worked out to be around £10 for 8 pins If they are ok I will buy some more - maybe we should have a trade thread? especially if some of the younger dissers are shy about trading.

I really want to make one of those frames now, might be a nice project once I get assignments and exams out of the way :)
