It's great to know there are other pin traders enjoying the trading in the UK Disney Stores. I've just joined DIS just so I can share my pin trading experiences.
I live in London, and been taking advantage of the four stores within a bus ride (don't hate me, we Londoners pay a hefty price for these bonuses) - most CM in stores in the beginning were very confused about the entire process, and I've already met one CM who tried to tell me I had already traded one pin and in the interest of fairness to other customers I can't trade any more, and another CM who got into PT because of the new
Disney Store trading convinced me to trade pins she liked, as she planned to buy some core pins to trade for them after her shift. She was lovely, and I didn't mind at all. All in all, trading is quite fruitful and fun in London, though I make sure I don't visit each store too frequently to give them a chance to refresh the lanyards. One CM in Covent Garden estimated that they see at least one pin trader stop by a day.
The only annoying part of trading in London is the number of CM who ask me if I work for Disney (I carry a distinct American accent)... That's still better than the at-my-discrimination trading I met quite regularly in DLRP ("Because I like my pin, I will only trade it for that pin on your lanyard I also like, no others")
But most of all I want to share this story - in the Covent Garden Disney Store (lovely little place), when I went by on Saturday with some pins, I was shown a lanyard with 11 pins (not a bad selection, some HM, but nothing caught my fancy), and when asked about the "other lanyard" (most CM tell me there's always 2 CM lanyards per store) the lady went away for a while before returning to say the other lanyard was EMPTY! That, together with the 11 pins on the first lanyard, made me wonder how trading resulted in 13 missing pins... Correct me if I'm wrong, but I thought CM lanyards must always carry 12 pins?
