Pin trading @ DL and DCA?

Our trip papers from the Disney Travel Co. included two vouchers for pin trading lanyards and a DL pin trading pin.

I have a few trader pins left over from last year's WDW trip that I thought I might bring along. Is the pin trading thing still going strong at DL? Are there several cast members wearing lanyards? (I never really got into trading with strangers/guests, but I liked talking to the CMs.)

I guess I'm asking if it's worth it to pack my pins for next week's trip.

We just got back from DL on Monday and we were at WDW in December. My son had a lanyard loaded with pins from WDW and he was very into it then. There are pin trading stations throughout Disneyland and Disney California. However, the only castmembers wearing lanyards were at the pin stations-nowhere else. My son didn't want to wear his lanyard and I didn't notice anyone else wearing one either. On our last day, I decided to wear it and got rid of a couple of pins from WDW that I did't want. Two other people stopped me (pin traders) because they noticed my pins were from WDW and not from Disneyland. My overall feeling was pin trading is not as popular at Disneyland as it is at Disneyworld.

I haven’t been to WDW to pin trade, however I spend a few days a week at Disneyland trading. I fell that it is still going on at Disneyland. You can usually always find Cast Members in the shops wearing lanyards. They may not have them on when the park first opens or at closing because they are usually pretty busy. There are always guest pin traders at the pin annex located on Main Street. That is also wear you can pick up your WD travel lanyard and pin. So I would say bring your pins and have a good time.
