Pin Trading Age Limit with CM's?

Hi we will be going back for the first time since 2010 and my dd who will be 14 still wants to trade pins with CM's. This is totally cool with me and I am pretty sure her younger two siblings are young enough. I thought there used to be an age limit with CM's like 12 or something because they didn't want older "kids" who are actually serious collectors taking advantage of the CM trading. My dd isn't a collector and hasn't really touched them much since our last trip but now all three kids are looking forward to trading for fun with CM's this year. So I just want to know if there are any new "rules" I need to know about or if there is an age limit?

There's no age limit to pin trading in general. If you see a CM with pins just ask them if you can take a look and they'll gladly let you look and trade if you see any you like

From what I hear if you see a CM with a green lanyard, they only trade with kids up to 12 yrs old. But idk if they still do that

Also if they would be interested, you'll likely find other guests around the parks with their pins set up for people to come to them to trade. The best spot I've seen for this is at Epcot right behind Spaceship Earth in front of the pin tent. I frequently see kids and adults with stools and tables with cases and cases of pins out for people to see and possibly trade with

Anybody can trade. There are no ages in Disney (unless is affects how much money Mickey is getting).

They use to have green lanyards that were kids only. Not sure if they still do that, sorry. But the official pin trading rules on Disney's website should say.

Ok thanks for info. Just bought 75 trading pins on eBay. I'm going to hide them in plastic eggs and make that the kids Easter Egg Hunt this year! They should have a blast. (The bunny doesn't hide the eggs at our house, just the baskets ).

Yes, there are still Cast Members who wear the green lanyards and will trade only with the 12 and under guests.

as other have said the green lanyards will only tread with kids 12 and under, But last year I want about 50 days and saw one CM with a green lanyard so they are not around much. I would tell your DD that you might run into a CM with a green lanyard on and they may not tread with her, but it wold be rear

The main rule is you can trade 2 pins per CM per day. It also can't be a pin they already have on their board/lanyard. CMs who run rides can't trade pins (safety issue) but they typically won't wear any then.

DH and I have traded pins (and Sorcerers of the Magic Kingdom Cards) with staff members. I don't think there is an age limit at all.

My husband is 50 years old and trades every trip...he even has a Jack Skellington pin folder. I'm not sure he'd even go if he couldn't pin trade!

a lot of the cms now have their pins in the small carry binders so don't assume not wearing them means they don't have any and ask.
