Are pins and lanyards allowed on planes? I want to surprise my kids with their pins and lanyards but don't want them to get taken away at the airport. Does anyone know if they can be worn on planes?

Poly Vacation 9/14-9/21!!!!!

I brought mine in my carry on luggage last year and it wasn't a problem :thumbsup2

I've had my carry-on opened at security to inspect my big pin bag, but never had an issue with a lanyard.

I have a lot of pins on my backpack with the locking pins backs and I have never had a problem using that as my carry-on when flying. My cousin and his family fly to Disney on 9/11 an they wore their lanyards and didnt have an issue either

In general it is recommended that you take pins in your carry on as they are often known to go missing if they are put in your carry on luggage.
My biggest problem is that I take LOTS and LOTS of pins with me so at my home airport they almost always cause my carry on bag to need to be searched. LOL :rotfl2: MCO is just so used to pins and pressed pennies but not my airport. That's okay, I've come to expect it!

As others have said, you won't have a problem wearing them on the plane, but I would recommend having a plastic baggie handy to put them in when you go through security. You'll have to take them off to go through the metal detector/scanner and if they're in a baggie it's less likely than any will get lost during the mad-dash to reclaim your stuff.
