Pin lanyard washable?

Anyone successfully wash a pin lanyard? DD's is looking a little dingey, but I'm afraid if I try to wash it- even hand wash it, it may fall apart. Now, I realize we could just get her a new one when we get there, but if you knew my dd, you'd understand that would involve major drama.

I washed mine, and some of the lettering peeled off. I'm going to have to buy a new lanyard on our next trip.

ETA: I washed it in the washing machine and not by hand.

I hand washed ours and they were fine. Just be careful, it's like gold!!

Thanks, maybe I will try to hand wash it.

I warm water washed ours in a pillow case, and then hung to dry.
No peeling yet!

I washed ours on the delicate cycle with woolite and hung them dry. They looked as good as new
