Hello

I'm not sure where to place this on the boards.

Although being DVC, have any here still received PIN codes for resort stays or dining specials?

I know that Disney doesn't allow more than one discount, and in their mind, DVC is a discount.... Just wondering if anyone still gets the offers.

Thanks in advance :thumbsup2

You can still get a PIN code. It's not related to DVC though, since they only apply to cash reservations made through Disney.

Prior to DVC I used to get PIN emails or postcards quite regularly. We joined in 2008 and haven't gotten one since. I think it's silly because if I'm out of points I'd still book a package and I'd gladly use a PIN. I still keep my wdw log in, order maps, dvds etc and still no PIN in years.

I still receive Pin codes even if I am a DVC member.

It is still a big mystery how Disney deceide who gets pin codes ...:confused3

We'll get them every once in a while. And we'll get Disney VISA pins all the time.

We haven't gotten a PIN code since joining DVC in 2003. There are many times we would add on a few days, but Disney just lets us walk on by...

Thanks for your responses. We have friends that we travel with regularly, and they get codes all the time. We go almost twice as much as them and we don't get a PIN...i didn't know if it was because we had DVC. Honestly, i can't remember if we received codes before DVC... Oh well...:confused3

well based on the responses there have been the yes, we receive pin codes & then the forgotten bunch, which I am part of. it would be nice to not feel left out & know how or who to call to remind them we exist so we can get a pin code so when we do run out of points, it's an option.

It's more about where you live, and what Disney sites you are registered to and your usage of the Disney World site than if you are DVC.

If you have an email that is not registered on Disney site, or ABC, ESPN etc. clear all your computer cookies, delete your internet files and with a clean computer go to the Disney World site and save some trips, order a vacation planning DVD, register that email for all Disney promotions.

Now I will tell you when you do that you will get lots of junk from them, Disney store, ABC family, etc. etc. but we also got pin codes too.

Also
We go almost twice as much as them
that is actually a negative to them sending you one. They send them to people they are trying to get them to increase their visits or come for a first time visit. It is not a reward program for frequent guests.

Interesting and sounds very plausible. I only ever received one PIN code and that was after my second trip. I guess telling them about my ever-increasing visits whilst booking my trips (up to 15x in the past 8 years now) knocked me off the promo list. That's ok - after a peak of 3 visits a year we're cutting back to just once per year anyway. Good tips though if we ever want to go fishing for a PIN...

I asked MS before and was told that the system randomly picks who gets sent the pins. Anyone who has registered with Disney is in the data base to receive one - no filters.

Heh.. I dont ever remember getting a pin from WDW before...until about 10 minutes ago :goodvibes

And yes we are DVC..

I get one every once in a while. In fact, I just got one today. It is is for 35% for Jan-Sept. or free dining for Jan-Mar.

I am a DVC owner and until today never received a pin. I just got back from a trip to WDW, but stayed at the Swan. In my mind it was completely random or maybe they found me from the dining reservations.

But, I can now say I have received a pin code!!

I just received a PIN code email today. My email and physical address was correct but it is in someone else's name.

I wonder if it's a error due to yesterdays system upgrade?

HAHA... I never got one... I always wonder about how the program decides who to give them to.

We are DVC members as well. We got the pin today, and it is also not in our name??? Sent to my email inbox. Wouldn't use it anyways but weird!?
