Hi all, please tell me if this sounds reasonable because we just got our first PIN code.

Have a 1br booked at the Poly for NYE. Outrageous price. Got our first ever PIN code for Deluxe Resorts :thumbsup2 including NYE. Unheard of right? Would save us a TON of $. So I call and ask if they can apply the PIN code to our reservation, and CM types in the code, and then says no but you can book a regular room (non-suite) and get the discount.

Nowhere in the email we received does it say that the code does not apply to suites. Does this sound reasonable? Not sure having never received a PIN before.

Thanks.

Yes. You are assuming all room types are available with any and every offer. I don't believe that is always the case. Sometimes not even all resorts are available in an offer. Sometimes an offer is room only bookings. Sometimes only packages.

So I just checked the regular room rates at the Poly (the CM said I could use the PIN code for a regular room) and for a similar room, MK view, its almost $500 more than the suite!!! We booked the suite in late Sept., I think and the regular room rates were much less then. So obviously we will keep the suite.

There seems to be a lot of available rooms for NYE. At the prices they are asking no kidding.:rotfl2:

So I just have to wonder, did they send out the 30% PIN to all those who had done an online search - yet also raise the rates so much that it ends up being a wash for Disney? The rates are just outrageous.

Uh, I think you are mistaken on SOMETHING here.

The 1br SUITE at the Poly is the Princess Suite. I know because I had it booked once for a trip we ended up having to cancel. MY rate for it, in REGULAR season, was $815/night. In looking NOW, the HOLIDAY rate for this room is $1190/night, which is what you should be paying. If you are paying LESS than this, you DO NOT have a 1br suite booked...

The HOLIDAY rate for a MK view room at Poly (NON CLUB LEVEL) is $765, which is almost $500 LESS than the suite. If you want Club Level, a Lagoon View CL room is $900/night, still less.

It doesn't matter when you booked the room. The rates that will be in effect during your stay are what you are quoted. They don't fluctuate up or down sporadically. Disney has fixed rates for different times of year. They put them "on sale" by sending out PIN codes or public discount codes.

And, FYI, SUITES are NEVER discounted. Ever.

I must have keyed something in wrong then - :confused3 - because that is what the online rate came up as. I thought I was doing room only, but maybe I did that part wrong and it included passes - who knows. I was so stunned at the prices I didn't check why.

Thank you very very much for clarifying that the PIN code won't be available on the suites. I won't dwell on it anymore. Years ago I was able to get either an AP or Florida Resident discount (can't remember which) on a 1br suite on the 14th floor at the Contemporary, but this is my first PIN code discount.

I'll keep the suite! :rotfl: (still think the rates are outrageous, but hey I'm paying it!)
