Hi, I apologize if this has been asked and answered before. I looked and could not find it. I called today to see if there were any pin codes attached to my name and there were two. One that was only good until March 5th for free dining and one that was good for the time I want to go for 15-35% off room only. I was so excited, I did not ask what the break down was  So I'm assuming that 15% is for value and 35% is for deluxe, but where do the moderates fit in? Also, if free dining becomes available, is that a better deal?

Thanks in advance!
Stacy

I haven't gotten that PIN code this time around but based on ones I have gotten in the past, the moderates should be in the 20%-25% off range. POFQ is usually at a lesser % off or not included in the discount.

Whether or not free dining is a better deal depends on what level resort you stay at (deluxe, mod, or value), the make up of your family, i.e. how many Disney adults (10+) vs. Disney kids (3-9), plus how many table service meals you want to eat. When it was just me and my DD (when she was under 10), the room only discounts were a much better deal for us when we were staying at deluxe or moderate levels. Now that she's 10, I'd have to reevaluate if I got a free dining PIN. We haven't purchased the DDP the last few trips and have come out ahead paying OOP for meals so it's not as straight forward a calculation for us.

For most families the only time a room only discount might be better than free dining is when you are staying at a deluxe resort. If you are staying at a moderate or value, free dining is always better. If you are staying at a deluxe then you have to crunch the numbers to see which one is better..

You all are right on. I just crunched numbers. We will be staying at value or moderate for sure and the free dining would be an amazing savings! I really hope that I get a pin for free dining or that there is a promotion offered for the middle of August :earsboy:

If you have already made a reservation to stay, can you still call to see if a pincode is attached to your name? Do you call reservations to find out this info? Thanks!!!

Yes, you can have a pin attached to your name even if you've already booked. You would call reservations to check :).
