Both seem tempting. We only have time for one. Which have you done and would you do it again. Any other thoughts are welcome too.

TIA

Definitely the Cog. You can relax and take in the beautiful scenery and not be white-knuckled trying to maneuver hairpin turns on mountain roads with no guard rails. Just one person's opinion who has done both. :)

We went a few years ago and we took the cog up. I am glad we did too. It was enjoyable and once we got out on top, I was slightly light headed (as many people were). It was nothing too bad, but I was glad no one had to think about driving. Plus we could take pictures, etc.

Each one will take the same amount of time. We made the mistake of thinking that our two year old wouldn't be able to last on the cog train, not stopping to think that the drive would take just as long. We did the drive, and since I'm afraid of heights, I was doing some pretty heavy praying by the time we reached the top! I did get my souvenir Christmas ornament at the top, because I know I'm not doing that drive again!

Cog...call ahead for ressies. Allow 3-4 hours tho, overall. Grab a Fat Tire beer in Mamitou Springs afterwards :thumbsup2 While lower in elevation than Pike's, as their saying goes, "This Whole Town is High!";)

Two kids came home sick. Road trip is off for now. Thanks for the info though.
